Hi guys, I finally gotten my "5 "My Thoughts on" in 1" up. Bear in mind that some of the descriptions may feel a bit rushed, but I'm just trying to get my points across as best as I can. So without further ado, let's begin.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen- Yeah, I've know this movie got a lot of negative press, but I knew this was the kind of movie where if I was a fan of the first movie, I'd be able to at least find it somewhat good. All in all though, I was really entertained with the end result. And yeah, you may have heard talk about this movie being long, I don't know how Michael Bay pulled it off, but he was able to make this one longer than the first. Bit of a side story, I even had to use the bathroom at one point, but I kept "holding it in," because I was in the last hour of the movie, which is the part that really makes the movie worth seeing. Not everybody will like it of course. If you didn't like the first movie, this won't do anything to win you over, and if you're one for story, there's not that much to really elevate it to a high status. At the end of the day though, it's what it was meant to be, a second helping for people who couldn't get enough of the first movie, and I personally was satisfied.

See it
If you liked the first movie, if you like big budget action packed movies that show where their budget goes, if you're a diehard fan of the source material.

Don't bother
If you didn't like the first movie, want a deep story in your movie.

A Haunting in Connecticut- Well, I didn't really care for this one, it was pretty boring and I was able to see just about everything that was coming. Basically it's the story of a family in Connecticut that found a run down house and they slowly begin to learn about the house's past as a funeral home. I've basically given you the story right there, and I think you'd be able to assume the rest of the story just from what you've read. The movie itself though is far from terrible, the acting was okay and the story telling was competent overall. In some ways, it's an okay movie, but it's not something that may offer a lot of appeal to folks who aren't fans of the horror genre.

See it
If you don't have very high expectations, if you're an absolute diehard fan of the genre

Don't bother
If you've lost faith in the horror genre years ago, if you want to see the next great horror film nobody is talking about.

District 9- You may have heard a lot of claims that it's pretty much impossible to review this movie without giving away really big spoilers. Basically to give you an idea in a nutshell, imagine the events of District 6 set in the near future. Indeed there's more to the story, but I find District 9's story something that should be witnessed instead of explained. It's not just an action movie, but it deals with themes that would be worth considering if we were to ever actually see aliens meet us on Earth. I know it sounds like a sloppy description, but I don't want to spoil much. I can tell you this much though, for it's amazingly small budget, it sure manages to accomplish a lot of technical feats, like the robots and weapons for instance. There's also a reason this movie is rated R, it's like Starship Troopers in terms of violence, but makes it look even more realistsic, so yeah, blood is bound to be seen everywhere.

I would also like to show you guys something, take a look at one of District 9's clips. Now take a look at one of Dragonball Devolution's clips. Which movie judging from these clips looks like more money was invested into them? You'd be surprised. District 9 actually had a budget of $30 million, Devolution had $15 million more. So before you bring up the defense of "Well that movie didn't even have that big of a budget…" take a look at the District 9 clip and tell me that the money for Devolution couldn't have been put to better use. But back on the topic, District 9 is something that can appeal to many people even if they aren't fond of the genre. You'd just have to get past the reason why it's rated R in the first place.

See it
If you're looking for a well produced and thought provoking thriller, if you're looking for a visual update of Starship Troopers.

Don't bother
I guess if you just don't like the genre, but it has a lot of appeal.

Inkheart- I really don't know what to say, I didn't dislike this adaptation, but I wasn't a huge fan of it either. Basically it's a condensed telling of the story that leaves room open for the sequels. The special effects were okay, but they look pretty done before. I liked most of the cast, but to me, Brendan Fraser just felt out of place as Mo. This movie wasn't offensively bad, just not a very remarkable one, which is a bit of a disappointment considering how the book's storytelling was very good and just better overall.

See it
If you're a diehard fan of the novel

Don't bother
If you've already seen the many other fantasy adaptations that have been done better

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince- I've heard that there's a bit of a conflict between the viewers, some say this is the best Harry Potter film yet, some say they were disappointed. I personally, am under the first group. Unless you can't fathom where this movie's existence came from, it's based on the sixth book in the Harry Potter book franchise. David Yates' directing makes cuts from the book, but manages to keep the more important parts in. The end result is a very emotional and dark adaptation, much like the book itself. This is what I like about these series, they gradually become darker, and more grounded in reality, and it shows the characters being able to deal with the situation. Another thing I liked was that Michael Gambon has gotten quite better since Prisoner of Azkaban. He's only going to be able to portray him in one more movie (Deathly Hallows Part II), but it's nice to see that he's improved. Probably the only two problems I personally had with it was that the relationship between Harry and Ginny felt somewhat underdeveloped, and the funeral wasn't held (You know for which character). Other than that, I found it to be a very enjoyable adaptation of the book.

See it
If you're a fan of the series, if you enjoyed the first five movies, if you like fantasy movies (though you're guaranteed to be a bit confused.)

Don't bother
If you just don't like the movie adaptations, source material, or fantasy in general.

My opinion, feel free to express yours.

District 9, a visual update to Starship Troopers . I'm going to see Quentin Tarantino's new one tommorow, Inglorious Basterds.

I plan on watching District 9 soon. I have great expectations, but I really don't know what to expect since I avoided reading up too much info on the movie.

As for the Harry Potter movie I really enjoyed it, but I felt it could be much better if they spent less time focusing on comedy and gave more importance to the action scenes on the book. Where is my Hogwarts battle!?!?!? And Rupert Grint has fantastic comic timing! I don't think Daniel and Emma developed into better than average actors though.

Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter were fantastic! But that is no surprise.
