Alright. We've all seen the Sony Press Conference. It's no secret they ripped off the Wii. The question is, to what success? This is a little different than rumble. With rumble, a shaking controller is a shaking controller.

What sets the Wii apart is its design. Remember, it's a remote. People don't realize this yet, but the design of the controller is more important than its capability. What's going to feel more natural? Tilting the dual shock w/ both hands, or flicking your wrist with a remote?

Honestly... How's golfing going to work with Sony's controller. What about sword fights? It's a lot harder to point a dual shock than a remote. Plus the Wii controller has no moving parts. What happens when one of the tilt sensors gets stuck?

For that matter, did you see the airplane demo? The guy couldn't even land the plane right. How's that for intuitive? No, the Wii is not in trouble at all. Perhaps its thunder has been stolen, but at $600, who's going to care?

I agree that Nintendo isn't in trouble with what Sony has announced. If people want what the Wii has then they'll just get that system. I just want a normal controller so I won't be one of those people. I also won't be compelled to bother with the PS3 games that take use of this technology. It only reminds me of the EyeToy. In that it doesn't do what it was intended for very well.

The implementation of the motion sensors in both controllers are different from each other and will also, most likely, not even be able to perform the same functions. I don't see the PS3 controller having any game use the motion sensor except things like driving and flying games. The implementation for the Wii is clearly more intricate and advanced than PS3, which is fine because that is what you will get the Wii for. If you want a PS3, I'm sure it will not be for the motion sensing technology. Read this for why Nintendo is not being "ripped off."
