Here are my thoughts on the last movies I've seen....

Ratings given out of 5

The Grudge 2: Loved every second of this movie, not only does it live up to the first movie but on some levels it surpasses your expectations, Writer and director Takashi Shimizu doesn't conform to Hollywood horror norms, even when you think he is going to give in to what is expected by audiences he sticks to his guns and scares the pants off you. Takashi expertly toys with his audience using your expectations against you, he'll have you waiting in anticipation for him to rehash material from the last movie and just when you think he is about to he dosen't and while you recover from that he hits you with something you weren't expecting. The acting in this movie is fairly par for the course with the Japenese actors out shinning the Americans. The effects are better than the last movie and some of the things Takako Fuji does with her body in order to scare you will have the lines between what is actually her and what is effect blurred beyond recognition. This film is something that should be seen in a large group and at night to give you the ulimate experience.

Rating-* * * * *

This film is suitable for people aged between 15-any any younger and you probably won't sleep for a week

Step Up: Wow what a monumental desappointment this movie was, this film crumbles under the pressure of trying to out do the very popular "Save the last Dance". The leads here are out shone by the supposed supporting cast members making any scene between Nora and Tyler that dosen't involve dancing mind numming and packed with extra chese too make up for the lack of chemistry. This movie even for those who like the genre will find the predictability of the plot and the poor lines lacking in any real emotion or experience a punish to sit through. Having said that if you are interested in an afternoon of eye candy their is plenty on offer in this film and Channing Tatum has never looked better.

Best suited for Girls and Boys aged 12 to 16

Boytown: This is a small australian film similar to movies like "The Castle" and "Cracker jack" The movie started as a skit on the short lived Mick Molloy show care of ch 9. This film is a parody of boy bands it's humour is at times very in your face (eg the song special time of the month and love handles) also at times the humour can be very dark. This film is at times a painful to sit through and at other points laugh out loud hilarious. Warning to non-Australians going to see this film the humour in parts is very Australian, as are most of the cast with one notable exception (shazzar from Bridget Jones diary). For Australians it is a varitable who's who of Australian Comedy and TV.
