Wow!!! It's been soooooooooooooooo long since I've been on properly... I can't even remember the last time but I think Supernatural was airing the start of it's 3rd season, if that helps. I guess this blog is an apology in a way to everyone on here who I use to chat with like every day and then I up and disappeared on you all, not that I'm egotistical enough to believe that would have majorly effected your lives in any way, I'm just sorry I lost contact with some of the coolest people from all over the world

The excuse for this, is lame, but it's the only one I have, my work blocked TV.com and my home computer isn't good enough to actually cope with sheer volume of stuff on this site. And at first I was trying to get on anyway but then I was on less and less and started to feel lost and out of the loop so I stopped posting but kept checking on things, and then even that stopped after some pretty major stuff changed in my life

I never forgot you guys were here and I would stop by and read up on what you were thinking and saying and doing... mostly the SPN bored... but like I said it wasn't often enough and I felt like i'd been away too long to come back.

But with this post I'm announcing my return to active posting so you will be hearing from me and seeing me around again and I hope to catch up with you all!!

New term New teacher and having a blast

Fireworks

Ok so after 5 weeks of holidays, I finally went back to my acting lessons. It was really strange cause i hadn't been in so long and the place was pretty deserted when i got there so i thought i had gone back on the wrong week, but then I saw one of the boys from my group and we sat and did the usual how was your vacation of i did this that sounds like fun and so on.

Vacation

Then he asked me if i'd received the script they had emailed us? I was like no when did they email it? he said Friday and i was like great NIDA only have my work email and i had been bed ridden with severe Tonsillitis since Friday I hadn't made it to work.

Sick

Then he told me that the instructions were to learn the script before the first lesson. So i went into panic mode i was like give me your script I'll try and learn it now, so he did. Then more people from our group started turning up and it became clear very quickly that even though most of them had received the email they had all failed to learn it, so that made me feel better since i had an excuse and they didn't. So we were called over to the studio where they hold our lessons sometimes, and there in the studio was our new teacher Paul Barry The guy who auditioned us, me Hugh Jackman David Wenham love child.

So me and my friend from first term Sarah were a little apprehensive about getting a new teacher cause our last one had liked us so much and a new one might not. But he was great he sat us down he played a gam so that he could try and remember our names he asked us to say our names and then say one thing he would never have guessed about us, I was first so i sat there for a second and then said hi i'm Jess and i can play about 6 different instruments. He looked at me and went six that's insane and then i laughed and said well you would never have guessed that and smirked at him he laughed and moved on to the next person.

Musical

We spent most of the lessontaking notes It was really informative he has some really great tricks for making every performance different he said all this stuff is just basic stuff you can do that doesn't require you to tap into any emotions this is just really basic stuff that you can do every time you do a piece that will help you fake it even if you aren't feeling it. He said people that they say are naturally talented at acting do this stuff with out realising it but they still do this he goes even some one like Judy Dench or Glen Close or Robert Di Niro they all do this stuff they're just at a point where they do this stuff without needing to sit down and go OK now i'm going to look at my breathing, they just automatically do it.

Taking Notes

So in terms of practical stuff we only did two exercises one was a line learning exercise which required you and your partner to stare at each other and you would hold the page the wrong way until it was your line and then you would get your line then flip the page over say it and then wait for the other person. It was strange but the point was that your lines aren't that important actors have a habit of beating themselves up or each other up when they mess up there lines the truth is it's more important that you feel safe then that you remember your lines cause if you don't feel safe you will focus on your lines and not the performance. Jared and Jensen in their bloopers don't really mock each other when they mess up their lines and you'll notice their aren't a lot of bloopers where that happens. The other exercise was to do with your eyes which is something i tried to work really hard on last term which is to make sure my eyes have a focus or a point to there movement if i'm not looking at the other person what am i looking at and why?? so that was the end of our firstlesson, we have to learn our scripts for next week and we will get to shoot them.

So that's it for first lesson back. My lessons conflict with Supernatural so I'm back to taping and watching them later which sucks but will have to do cause i refuse to give up either Plus this way i can get my Boyfriend to watch Supernatural as well. I loved the first Episode and can't wait for the second hurry up and be Monday again already.

Weeks 4-6

motivator89761.jpg image by MsRogue_2007

Is what I'm learning

Okay So I was a little stressed when I went to my fourthlesson. Cause I thought I would have to do my piece from "DOGMA" with someone who was going to be reading lines from a page and not acting and not looking at me which makes the whole process a lot harder (trust me watch supernatural Jensen only looks away from Jared when Dean is hiding something or he is looking at something trying to work out what it is the rest of the time he has full eye contact and it is the same with Jared)

Reading

But to my surprise my teacher paired us up. He told us to find a partner and then we would have one week to learn each others scene then we would film them next week or this week depending on how ready you thought you were. The problem with that was most of the girl's had bought boy girl scenes and most of the boys had bought Boy boy scenes, so our teacher decided to give us three weeks of filming two person scenes in which we would have to find as many scenes as we could and find our own partners. As an incentive to be a persons partner he offered to film both people in the scene so you would get an extra scene out of the process.

I was partnered with Kieran; he is really good and funny though he can be rather distracting so we decided to film my Dogma scene the week after. Which gave us some time to rehearse.

Ben Affleck (Bartleby) and amp; Matt Damon (Loki)

The scene went well my teacher kept telling me to do it faster cause I was doing it too slowly but other then that he liked it, and so did the rest of the ****

Happy

So i then needed to find another scene. SoI paired up withSarah whoI worked with in the second week, she was keen to partner up and do another scene together so we chose a Greys Anatomy Scene. Between Meredith and Christina from season 2.

We flipped a coin to see who would be who and I ended up as Christina. The thing I liked most about our scene was probably how much fun we had doing it. Sarah and I get on really well and it shows when we work together. We had to do about four takes just on the opening of our scene because our teacher wanted us to sit on the back of these chairs to give the illusion we were looking down into the O.R, the tricky part was getting up onto the back of the chair whilst being angry, it didn't help that we were laughing about it, in one of the takes i pushed to hard on the chair and nearly took us both out.

In the end we got it but we didn't get a chance to watch them back because we ran over time and the teacher forgot to bring the tapes the next week.

Mr Forgetful

So after we finished that one we decided to do another scene together.I think people are upset we do so much together like we think we are better then the others, it's just that she keeps asking me and we have fun doing it we sort of work the same way and have the same ideas about how scene buddies should act and we get along and do some good stuff together our teacher likes us working together. Our teacher suggested we do something with more dialogue cause our Greys scene was pretty short.

Jensen and Jared

So for our next scene we chosea scene between Paris and Rory when Paris gets asked on a datefrom season 3Gilmore Girls.

Rory and Paris

Again we flipped a coin and she got Paris and I got Rory.So I spent the week learning a thousand lines those girls talk...and we got to rehearse a little before we filmed it because we were both having line issues either i would screw up my line or she would screw up hers. We got there in the end. Our teacher really liked it. and it was the first time we got to move around in our scene and play with props (I had to do some of her makeup during the scene).

makeup

We were the last scene and my teacher sent Sarah to get the others and he pulled me aside.

He just wanted to tell me that he thought i was improving and that he thinks I have dryness that's interesting to watch but if i want to play more characters then i need to work on playing the emotion of a scene so it is more obvious. So that's good i think??? he said i was dry sort of like Jodie Foster. Although he did say when I comfort people in my scenes I'm always believable so I'm confused by what he said??? any clues??

Jodie Foster

Okay so that's it for the last three weeks. Next week we are mock screen testing, everyone has to prepare them same piece and we are going to get paired up with someone on the day... So I am trying to find the emotion and trying to make my piece as unique as possible. Next term we are going to do group scenes which will consist of 3-4 people so I 'll get to work with a few others. When i told Sarah that she thought it meant i didn't want to work with her any more she was a little upset till i explained that we would have to have other people in those scenes.

Thanks Guys and sorry I haven't been around a lot work has been crazy!! xoxo

Jensen Ackles Is incredible talented, you will never catch him faking his way through a scene (and in screen acting that is hard to hide). His characters are always well written and that helps but what is amazing is that Jensen's characters...
