2005 started out pretty slow for movies, but once the second half started, they were great I have a list of my favorite movies of 2005
10.The Chronicles of Narnia- The Lion The With and The Wardrobe- This is an excellent movie. The four kids give excellent performances and so does Liam Nelson as Aslan, the lion. This is also a movie that a lot Christians would enjoy, mainly because, Aslan will remind you of Jesus. The final battle at the end was better then any Lord of the Rings fight, and that's saying a lot
9.War of the worlds- It had me on the edge of my seat. I was surprized by this movie, it was a lot better then I thought it would be. First of all it's a remake, Second, Tom Cruise is in (although he was very good in Collateral) he actually gave a good preformace in this. The Special effects are wonderful, and the movie is so intense, I'm surprized it wasn't an R
8.Wallace and Gromit- The Curse of The Were Rabbit-There hasn't been many good animation movies latly, Thank god for the British pair of a man and his dog. It delivers big laughs and is very smart and witty. If this dosen't win the oscar for Best Animated Picture, I'm going to scream
7.Sin City- Be warned, this is not for the weak of heart. This is one of the gory and senseless voilents in a movie, I've seen in a long time, that's why I love it. One of the best things about this movie is that it follows 3 different story, and each one's as interesting as the rest. Mickey Rourke gives a fine preformace as a guy he goes though every guy he knows that would know about the guy who killed the girl he loves, and Elijah Wood's preformace, is so creepy, you'd never guess that that was Frodo.
6.The Wedding Crashers- This is one hillarous movie. Vince Vaghun and Owen Willson make the greatest team since Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. There are very few Romantic Comedys that I actually like, but this one tops them all. Christerpher Walken gives a great preformace, and for once he's not a villan.
5. Star Wars, Episode III Revenge of the Sith- Lets face it, Phantom Menace was a dud, Attack of the Clones was alright, but this whalops all of the Star Wars except, The Empire Strikes Back. Every single person gives a great preformace and the special effects were top notch. The fights were some of the best I've ever seen, The best one was the final fight between Anakin and Obi-wan. You may have lost hope that Star Wars, wouldn't get any better after seeing the first two, but watch this, please, and you'll watch the faith come back.
4.King Kong- This is one hell of an extrodany movie. Special effects are amazing, preformances are great, Naomi Watts should even get a nominee for best Actress. Kong is definatly a masterpiece of special effect, the whole practically movie is one big speical effect. In the original version, of King Kong and the 70's remake, I was freaked out by Kong's cursh on Ann, but in this one it's really sweet and she even liked him back. It made me sad when he falls of the Empire State building
3. March of the Penguins- Three words, This Movie's Amazing. It's a simple documentary about the Emperor Penguins mating ritual. It's amazing that the filmakers spend a whole year on Anartica, the coldest place on the earth, and what the penguins go through to bring just one baby into the world
2. The 40 Year Old Virgin- Alright, you don't really expect much from the title, like this. Infact, I only saw this because Steve Carrel is one of the funniest men I know. It was incredably funny and it had me rolling off my chair. All of his friends gave great preformances and so did Steve Carrel. Do yourself a favor see this movie!
1.Batman Begins- This just blew me away. The Special effects are fantastic, and the story is wonderful. The action is really great and you'll enjoy some of the great fight scenes this movie has to offer. This is just as good as the orginal Batman, if not better, and that's one of my all-time favorite movies.
Honorable Mentions
Hitch,Hitchikers Guide to the galaxy, Fever Pitch, Kung Fu Huslte, Sky High, Harry Potter.
