I've got 19 games in my Gamefly Queue to play for the rest of the year. That's a lot of games to play for a law school student! I have all the consoles, so which one do you think is the most popular on there? The 360, with its incredible library expanding by the day? The Wii, with its more family-friendly and original games? Or the PS3, with its half-assed attempts at aping the 360, plus a few exclusives?
Surprise! It's the PS3, with 10 of the 19 games! The 360 only has 2 (but to be fair, I'm flat-out buying 3 360 games, so they're not being Gamefly'ed), and the rest are for the Wii. But why?
It's simple, my friends: Free online play, and my Splitfish FragFX controller, which is PS3-only. The Splitfish FragFX is an awesome mouse-replacement for the PS3, and it makes playing FPS games on my PS3 so much better. I've been primarily a PC gamer for about ten years now, but my desktop blew up last month and I haven't been able to afford to go back! Protip: don't play Supreme Commander on the fastest speed possible if you like having a working machine! So to salve my wounds, I bought a FragFX after hearing some positive buzz about it on podcasts. I have to say it's a marked improvement for playing shooters compared to what I see as the awful dual-analog stick setup. My frag count in Resistance was much improved.
So, these are the 19 games I currently have on my Gamefly queue, by release date:
Heavenly Sword
Halo 3
Dewy's Adventure
Zack and Wiki
Jericho
The Simpsons
Battalion Wars 2
Blacksite: Area 51
Fire Emblem
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2
Super Mario Galaxy
Unreal Tournament III
Kane and Lynch
Army of Two
Haze
Uncharted
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (I will probably end up buying this)
Timeshift
And no, I'm not a Splitfish viral marketer!
