I've never seen a Rocky before so I cannot tell if it is a good film for fans but I liked it!
It starts a bit sad - Rocky can't let go the past and his dead wife. When he meets a woman he knows from her teenage years he starts to take care of her and her son and you see no other reason than that she reminds him of past days. But you won't start crying or something because you know you can look forward to some boxing action and Rocky's big come back! :)
At least I left the cinema satisfied and happy.

You really don't need to worry that the story might be stupid. It is a little bit unrealistic but thats Hollywood. The important points of the story are reasonable and Rocky even has some nearly profound speeches for you to remember in bad days! ;)
