So, this is my first blog post on TV.com. I've been here for a while (apparently since Oct. 16), and I used to be a lurker on TVT.
Having just started watching One Tree Hill recently, I must say Dan is one of the most poorly written characters I've ever seen grace my TV screen. He abandons his child, murders his brother, and yet we're still supposed to feel sympathy for him? They make him do the most unexcusable, unforgivable things and then expect us to think of him as anything more than a one dimensional character. And who decides their high school girlfriend was the love of their life at 40 years of age? No one. If one thing's clear, it's that the One Tree Hill writers are the kind of people who still consider the events of their high school days of pivitol importance, even as adults.
