you know lately ive noticed that a couple of games have had some trailers with really crappy songs. u know a trailer should.. i dunno make you want the game really bad. should give you goosebumps n get u really excited. so making a trailer is a really hard task. u need to choose the right footage. and match it with a song that really works with the action. so what happens when u choose a crappy song for your trailer?... well the answer is simple.. u get this.

MW2 makes it to the top of the list of the WOrst Offenders Ever. Eminem... really?... i have to say i just couldnt stop laughing when i was watching the trailer. thank you activision you made my day. but MW2 is not the only one. theres more. i dont know if u guys remember that crappy game called Velvet Assassin?. well heres the trailer with the crappy song too. check it out

and lets not forget about Dragon Age Origins Trailer too.

i know right?... total suckage. whats next bioware?... ME2 trailer with britney spears singing... womanizer womanizer in the background? or perhaps Beyonce singing... all the single ladies... all the single ladies... uooo ohh ohhh. so whats your 2 cents?

Some songs they use for trailers i like, but alot of em your right, they play the dumbest songs, that don't even go with the story or the events taking place in them.

I think my ears just died on me

lmao i've been thinkin the exact same thing with the past dozen or so trailers i've come across good choices, though truthfully i would of imagined you'd like the 30 seconds from Mars track even if its far from fitting for a a mythical RPG

Oh god my ears are in server pain because of this i agree with you 100%

That MW2 one was really funny I wonder who picks the songs that they put in the trailers

Oh, but I liked the song for the Dragon Age Origins trailer.

I knew this had to do, at least in part, with MW2!

I laughed as soon as I saw the title. XD

Gotta love people who use music that doesn't fit a game at all... LOL

makes me wish for more U2 music in trailers =P

Such a fitting song for Dragon's Age... it made me slit my wrist with a +4 Down-the-Road-Not-Across-The Street Dagger of Health Drain.

Need more health pots!

That's funny that trailers are supposed to sell.

neither of these songs are bad, it's just eminem doesn't go well with CoD(not even a little), Hollywood Undead isn't the way to go on a WW2 nazi killer game and to tell you the truth, the 30StM song wasn't THAT much out of place. To tell you the truth(again) it gives the game a totally new theme which I like, it gives it the emo theme.

I dunno if these were actually songs in the trailers since I saw all these trailers without a song at all. Maybe it's true, maybe they're fan made and you mistook them for real trailers or maybe you did these yourself as an early april fool's or a tuesday of randomness you forgot to do for weeks in a row

The CODMW2 trailer is really well synced to the music, and it's not that bad.... until Eminem's voice comes on. Ouch.
Also, the Dragon Age: Origins one totally needs an epic orchestral track.

But some get it just right.
Even ingame.

Where is Hans Zimmer when u need em! I am a huge huge fan of his music, and he is doing the music for MW2, couldn't they just put his music on it?

Dragins age just doesnt work, MW2 started off great but just lost it when the lyrics kicked in lol, great blog!

People who use others music as a form of self expression for their products is usually not a good idea. Most people listen to music... but don't get the true meaning to it and then use it for background of a trailer (like above) and then the meaning is lost because the true meaning of the song and the video are not correcly matched. Personally if I was to create a game... I would also have a soundtrack made specifically for the game... and not use another artists song for it. That is a safer bet!

Ok believe it or not I felt the Eminem song was fitting, mostly because of the stupid fast-cut editing that I hate. There are an extreme number of BETTER songs for that trailer though. The cover of All Along the Watchtower in GRAW2 was great, although I'm not sure if it was in the trailer. The other two songs were absolutely terrible .. I have no words.

Oh goodness the MW2 trailer. I dunno enough about Eminem, so when the music played, I thought "This is quite good, MissMorphine might be wrong". But then the rap started.

When I first saw the CoD MW2 trailer with the eminem song I could not stop laughing.

The Dragon Age one I can kinda understand, but the MW 2 one was shocking, war and rap /hip-hop stuff dont really go together. Why can't they use the music they spend ages making for the game to advertise it??
