Could Avatar Awards be the Next best thing since Achivements?

i think they have the potential to be even more awesome than achivements. i mean ive been an achivement junkie for over a year. and yeah it feels great to get as many achivements as you can. or keep playing a game over and over till you get each one of those lil things that make you feel like you acomplished something. but at the end of the day. they mean nothing. just s number. so MS gave us Avatars. and yeah we can customize it. and now we can buy stuff for em. so after the last Major Update. they gave us Avatar Awards. rite now theres no games what support the Avatar Award System. its been over a month. and we havent heard any news on wich games are going to support the system or when. Wich is sad cuz i would love to get Items for my Avatar when i play games. like Batman Arkham Asylum Beat the game on the Hardest Difficulty setting and get a special item.

Wouldnt be awesome if u could get a Batsuit for your Avatar?. man that would be so cool. or get some cool Shiny Armor by playing Dragon Age Origins. Or a Lilith Outfit by completing certain task playing Borderlands. or a weapon or a prop. i really would like to see that happening. but im begining to believe thats not gonna happen. cuz thats MS's new Money Maker. charge 4 dollars for a Football Jersey. or 2 Bucks for a stupid hat. yeah thats MS for ya ppl. so u believe that if the Avatar Award System is well implemented could be as great as achivements?

i agree with you, this is the way it should work. completing certain achievements in a game should give a costume or an item for your avatar, but MS will never do this, they want to make as much money as possible

Some games I have noticed can give you gamer pictures at certain parts of the game, so I don't see why avatar clothing wouldn't be allowed.

Yeah, that should be the next big thing. Much like what Sony trying to do with game related Home space.

I agree but Microsoft is too freakin cheap but maybe if they have a heart or a brain they will make the Awards more interactive

@dth dlr Agreed. One of my Brothers owns a 360 and Wii, the other a PS3. And both of them would like to see features like that.

@aChaChaCha Agreed. If people are going to devote that much time into something, they should get MORE out of it than a "thanx 4 wasting your life" award.

When I kept hearing the term "micro-transaction" I thought of the word micro. When I bought an Xbox and saw its $6 for a lightsaber proper for my avatar, 'micro' was not the word I would have associated with that transaction. More like robbery. I think it's ridiculous what they are charging for avatar customizations. Game unlockable avatar addons would be great though.

The fact that we've not heard anything about it does worry me... I'm sad that the stupid shop was ever made, because now it just means my Avatar's looks may never change. I will not support something as stupid as virtual clothing for my characters. Meaningless bling that has no effect on my games or the whole experience with the xbox system. I was hoping there would be awards announced by now, or older games would have had an update for them or something, because I would very much like something more than just a point system. Ever since Sony introduced Trophies, I must admit, I kind of have liked them a bit better. It's not that I can show them off on HOME (Cause I never use that) but rather because I like how you level up and has this leveling system. To me, it means a little more because I can be Level 5 with X Bronze Y Silvers Z Golds and A Platinums. I dunno, I feel that these four different trophies have a bit more meaning to me than a simple number, because Gold/Silvers/Platinums are harder to get (usually) in games and they're not tied to a point system.

While I feel it is a very cool system they should have started a long time ago. I really wish you could turn it in for download XBox Live Games or maybe even Downloadable Content add on's. That would realy make it cool for sure!
