Perhaps some of you have read EGM's "Revenge of the PS3" article. Its a good read. Some of it was even posted on the Playstation Blog, Sony's blog for Playstation fans. However, it had along with it an interview with a Sony VP, Peter Dille. This VP only represented Sony's over confidence too well. He even goes as far as to say this:

Now, even if you haven't read the interview, you can pretty much guess what he's trying to suggest, that we (Gamers) haven't REALLY left Sony's side. We just kinda "stepped out" for a bit, but we shall be back before they know it. Well, here's my response, Your right, we didn't leave, we have been stepping out because there is a better choice, whether it be the 360 or Wii. However, most of us have still been keeping an eye on you though. Although here's what really gets me, does sony actually think gamers will come back to them if they just wait?

In-game XMB is a term thats been throne around a bunch ever since the PS3's release. However, are any of us experiencing this yet? No. Now, I know that this was probably a starting flaw in the PS3's dev kit. Sony most likely can't make In-Game XMB and have it work with ALL the current games. The games would need to be patched for it to work. So, I can see that it would take work. However, Sony hasn't even said ANYTHING about it. Whether or not its even a possibility, Sony should at least say something. Right now, their like the little kid it the corner, never willing to admit they did something wrong. Maybe because they don't think we will forgive them (which I know I would) or maybe because they want to be hanging with the "big boys" in the video game world again.

Home has also been a major word floating around. Even though Sony announced Home a year ago, we still know pretty little about it. Really the biggest things we do know have come from the Beta Testers, not Sony. Even though Home could be real soon. Like even next month. However, Sony could be a lot more informative... Plus, we don't really know Home is coming, its just a rumor.

I am not going to judge Sony's of old mistakes. There's simply no need. They know what the mistakes were and I don't see them re-doing any of them. Also, I am not saying Sony doesn't have a chance. Infact, thats exactly what I am saying. Sony has a CHANCE. I really believe Sony has a huge chance. With things like LittleBigPlanet, MGS4, a bigger PSP and PS3 remote play, Blu-ray, Home, FFXII, Killzone 2, GT5, and Resistence 2 the PS3 has in front of it a reason to shine. To really shine like never before. They, the folks at SCE, really need to step it up to crush the competitors. They have a chance, now more then ever. They need to seize the moment and really go all out. They already have things like remote play which microsoft will never have due to the fact they have no handheld. They have the most powerful console on the market, that is if the dev use it the great hardware. They have a blu-ray. They have a great media player in all aspects. Its pretty side by side with the price of the 360. They have all the things that make a system really tempting. Its just not quite there yet to the mass's. Its a great system, I will never regret buying mine. I just hope, for Sony's sake, that they will really push the limits on the PS3 right now. The spot for major growth is open, all you have to do is seize it.
I know I will get flamed by all the different kinds of fan boys, but please, this is simply my view on the PS3 right now. Your's could be different. I just wanted to share mine. Oh, and if you like it, please share.

Thanks for reading!!!
So I made a local website for myself and my family only. Why? Because I wanted to. Why is it just for me, because I don't want to be sued or something. Don't get me wrong, I did NOT download these TV shows off the internet. I bought I TV Tuner so I can record them.
Anyway, enough about that, on to the details about my site. This site lets me watch my TV shows that I have recorded with my TV Tuner. I can also watch live TV from it too. How did I do it? Heres how:
1. I made my site in Taco HTML Edit locally, so that I am not uploading anything to a different server, only my own computer.
2. I am running my server on a Mac. So I used the program MAMP for the Apache, PHP, and MySQL services.
3. I used encoded my recorded TV shows in flash video 6 because I can play it right in almost whatever web browser I am using. Even the Wiis web browser. ![]()
4. For this really hard part I used CyTV, EyeTV, Apples Streaming Server and QuickTime Broadcaster for the live TV.
The really cool part is that its all automatic. When a TV show is recorded it is automatically exported to Flash. Then my video is found and put into my database for the TV shows. It is then listed into my web page under the correct Show (Simpsons, Family guy, and the list goes on) and last my page is saved under a passworded folder and then I can watch it. Oh and this process takes a little less then an hour, the biggest part is the encoding to Flash, the rest is pretty fast.
Now, do you want to take my site for a test drive? Too bad. I made it local only so it kinda hard to get too and I might get sued if I gave people the chance to download the shows... But here are some screen shots for you ![]()
My live TV screen shot:
The recorded shows I have encoded for Flash so far but keep it mind that I have only had my site for about a week and it takes a long time for the flash video to encode:
