First blog post in a while I know, I just haven't had anything meaningful to post... I still don't, but here goes.

 I like to think I'm more mature than the system wars crowf, I like to think that I'm above being a fanboy, but the plain and simple truth is... I'm not.

 See.. I have the money to buy a PS3, I could afford one easily, and I've even entertained the thought of buying one, but the prospect just sickens me. I now truthfully confess that I am indeed an X-Bot. I hate Sony as a company, I hate their products, I smile every time I read bad news about the PS3... and I have no good reason for feelign this way. I've hated the playstation since people told me it was better than my 64, I hated the playstation 2 when people told me it was better than my dreamcast. And now I just hate the PS3, I hate it, I really do, and I have no good reason to hate it.

 I've been playing quite a bit of Metal Gear portable ops, and I'm remembering back to how much fun I had with previous metal gear installments. Yes, I've owned every Sony console, hating them or not. The point is I know now that this X-Bot is going to have to buy a PS3 for metal gear and metal gear alone. So next month sometime when I waltz into an EB and lay down 700 dollars... (because lord knows even though I'll never use it I'll have to buy an extra controller and some sort of specialized bag), that 700 dollars will be soley to play Metal Gear. And for whatever reason I'm fine with that. *sigh*

 Okay I keep seeing these things in the GS headlines over hands on with the sixaxis, and polls about "what do yo uthink of the sixaxis". So I'm going to give my opinion, and you my friends, please share yours as well.

 I can't take this stupid thing seriously, not at all. It was clearly a last minute rip-off of Wii-mote functionality and now they want all of us to take it seriously, as if to say they are right there with the Wii in this generation. I could be wrong but it's even in EGM, there's an article on how stuff will play on the Wii-Mote and the Sixaxis. Am I theo nly one who doesn't give a damn about this controller? Honestly. Not to mention its the same craptastic design which is just clunky and unusuable for an fps, those sticks are downright wretched.

 Now I've named myself a Wii60 fanboy, but I've also said I intend to buy a PS3 eventually. I guess I'm just frustrated over Sony's whole approach to this generation, it just seems so lazy. And as for their online strategy, it looks good on paper, but it's free, so I will believe it when i see it. And unless you package a mic right in there with something, half the people playing won't have am ic, and the other half wont have a keyboard, so the whole service is going to be flooded with those types. But that is off topic, Sixaxis sucks. That picture in my profile is just me making a dumb face for humor sake, but if you want to ask "Matt what do you think of Sixaxis?" just look at the pic, that is the face I will make.

Okay so as all of you know today was the day to pre-order a Wii from EB or Gamestop. Unfortunately for me I didn't have time in my day today to go stand outside of the EB and wait for a precious pre-order position. Now, as a guy who waiting 10 hours in line for his 360, launch day console ownership is clearly a priority with me. I know it is stupid, but that's how I am, I will hate it if other people have something that I do not. Sorry.

 So I had to come to the adult decision that I would not be getting a PS3. I just can't justify a 600 dollar purchase when there is no game i want immediately, I can't. But the Wii is a different story, I want to show my love to Nintendo, I want it on day one. But right now that is looking worse and worse by the day. Now I could wait in line again, I may end up doing so, or I could buy one online, I don't know, I'm just a bit down on myself today for not putting in the pre-order as I pledged last november that i certainly would.

Damn you November 7th and your slew of good releases, I want a Wii so bad but i want like four games also... oh well, time will tell on what to do... sigh.
