Elementals: Chapter 25: Alex's Ice Training, Phase 2.

Alex was already in the Training Room again the following morning. His mother had finally gotten a bit more flexible and had let him have a proper breakfast--with more Ice as a desert. He was practicing his Ice powers while he was waiting, unknowing what test awaited him today. After a few moments, his mother walked into the room with a strange device in her arms.

-Morning. She quickly greeted, not even turning her head to face Alex.
-Where's Bessie? He asked.
-She couldn't come. She replied, setting the device on a table in the middle of the room.

Alex rolled his eyes and sighed, just knowing that she had taken the day off to spend it with her boyfriend. He became a little disturbed by the thought, and walked towards the mysterious device resting upon the table. Upon getting a closer look at it, there appeared to be Ice and Water circulating on the inside. Moving his head closer, he finally broke his own silence.

-What is it?
-You'll find out--soon.
-What do you mean? He curiously asked, a wary tone in his voice.
-Here, stand perfectly still in front of it. And concentrate once more, remember, no Fire, only Ice.

Hesitatingly, he stood in front of the crystal ball-looking device, and unwillingly got lost in its hypnotic embrace. He was unable to speak. He felt his mother pace around the room, and without a word, he felt a push on the back on the head, making him fall towards the crystal ball. He found himself unable to move any part of his body, and as in an instant, he found himself in an Icy Paradise. Snow covered hills and mountains decorated the landscape, the tallest and whitest pines governed the skies. As Alex admired all this, he snapped back into realtity and wondered where he was. It couldn't have been the Crystal Ball...that was impossible. And why did his mother push him in? He shrugged, and ignoring his mother's instructions, he warmed himself up with his natural body heat.

After quite a while of walking, he finally spotted a cave. Naturally, he guessed that his test awaited there, and ran towards it, leaving melted snow behind. Upon reaching the cave entrance, he saw nothing inside. Dissapointed, he turned his head and prepared himself for another long walk. But out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a light blue glow dissapearing into a corner. Automatically, he jumped and closely followed. Trailing behind it, curiously, he stumbled upon a large section of the cave, where the glow stopped. When Alex got a clear look at it, it took the shape of a woman, "she" walked around the room, looking at Alex the entire time. She stopped in front of him and caressed his chin, Alex felt extremely nervous, like when Bessie had pulled that little breast-related stunt earlier. She whispered in a musical voice in his ear, he did not understand the words, but he enjoyed the moment nonetheless.

The peaceful moment was soon broken as the mysterious ice woman let out a not-so musical scream. Startled, Alex looked behind him. There stood a creature of pure darkness, looking into its hollow eyes, he felt unexplicably afraid. Unable to move again, the creature sent him flying across the room with one swing of its massive arm. With his last moments of conscious vision, he saw the beast carry the Icy woman out of the cave, she was struggling with his steely grip. And before passing out, he heard the faint words in that musical voice:

-
Help me...

Alex Flamesword woke up with massive pain in his lower legs. Becoming aware, he stood up quickly, creating a strong Ice cover around his left hand. It only took him a couple of second to remember what had happened. Remembering the beast of darkness and the icy woman rying out for help, he ran out of the cave. Looking around desperately, he finally spotted the slow moving beast in the horizon, he heard the musical voice in his head once more, and with unmatched determination, ran after it, the blazing trail behind him refusing to die.
The Beast, hearing the noise of the flames close behind, dropped the Ice woman and turned to face Alex, bracing itself. With a great, blazing impact, Alex Flamesword tackled the Beast, pushing it back several yards, but the sturdy creature remained on its feet. The Beast, coming to a stop, grabbed Alex and attempted to throw him, at which point Alex grabbed its strands of darkness emerging from his head and roped himself from the head to its back, drawing FlameSword and slicing through its chest; emerging from it, Alex quickly turned to face the crumbling beast. When to his great horror, the Beast reformed at the chest, regaining its composure and raising its arm to strike once more at him. Alex dodged the blow swiftly and took a fighting pose with FlameSword, his hands blazing with fire. Feeling discouraged, he desperatly thought:

How am I supposed to do this...?

ELEMENTALS

Well, first of all, I'll adress the matter of one of the coolest people on GS leaving, Booticon. Even though I didn't talk to him much, I know that he was a great guy, his unions were automatically lit up by his presence, for he had a great personality. Goodbye, Justin, may you be watched upon by careful and loving eyes on your travels, and we'll all remember you.

Anyway, I'm sorry I haven't been on for a while, I had school and some issues with my friends, but that's all been taken care of. I'm doing significantly better in Geometry at least, people are actually asking me for help, and I mean me

I'm still working on the girlfriend thing, this time around, I'll be sure to really like her before I get into it. I've also been growing my hair, though I know it'll never be as long as Eddy's It's still as long as it's ever been, I know the girls at school love it anyway, its fluffyness and softness always gets 'em

On the writing scene, I'm completely stumped on Elementals for the life of me, I can't figure out what to write about next chapter. Now, Full Moon on the other hand is coming out automatically, I know exactly what's going to happen next and how I should write it, Vampires and Werewolves are a very cool subject to write on for me

I played Naruto: Rise of a Ninja recently, I have to say it's gotten me into the story quite a bit, I didn't think I would ever like Naruto, but I have to say, it's pretty cool. I finally got 1000/1000 in Halo 3, scoring a shiny Katana and Security helmet, and in Call of Duty 4 I'm actually playing quite well. I also got the Orange Box recently, Half Life 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2 are all awesome, a very good dear and a very good play.

Well, short blogs ftw. Next blog will be Full Moon Chapter II, or by some miracle, Elementals. See ya!

Full Moon: Chapter 1: Bitten.

The weather outside was cold; unusually cold for this little island. My father, whom I hadn't met for 14 years, was taking me on a camping trip. The ride was a little uncomfortable, it was kind of akward for him, for most of my life, my father hadn't cared about me, he never made any attempts to meet me, or know how I, or my mother were doing. I thought the whole thing was unfair, I had almost no say in the matter. I wanted to get to know the guy first, but I guess that's what this whole trip was for, wasn't it?

"So, how's your mom?" He asked me. I kept quiet for a bit, I tried to ignore him, but at least he was trying. "She's fine." I answered quickly. I leaned against the window and looked outside--the sky was filled with dark clouds, it would rain soon. I hoped it would anyway, then we could turn back and get to know each other in a less-rushed way. My father looked nervous, he made a gesture every now and then, wanting to talk, opening his mouth, but suddenly changing his mind. Finally, he found the courage to speak. "Look Alex, I just want to apologize, for all those years." I quickly interrupted him, not wanting to hear any apologies. "Just forget it." I abruptly stopped, looking for something to call him, I could call him Samuel, and show that I wasn't used to him yet as my dad, or I could call him Dad, and make him think that I would have forgiven him. I decided to call him nothing, and just tell him that the past was past, and he did not worry.
I think he realized I was lying, but he didn't press me on that matter. The rest of the ride was quiet. There wasn't much we could talk about, anyway. And if we could do something, it was fight, and I didn't want that, not yet.

When we finally arrived at a suitable spot to set up camp, dad stepped out of the truck, and started unloading the tent, I helped him set it up. Pretty soon we had the tent set up and two folding chairs by a cooking pot hanging on a wooden stick. As we overlooked our creation, my father chuckled, and put his arm over me. My inmeadiate response would have been to force his arm off. But I stopped myself, we had finally done something together, so what the hell? I thought.
"We'll need some firewood" He said, taking his arm off of me. I walked to my bag and picked it up. "I'll do it" I offered. "All right, be sure to be back before nightfall" He sounded worried. He was actually afraid that something might happen to me. I just smiled, threw my bag over my shoulder and set off.

I walked all over the woods, collecting dry branches of wood wherever I saw them. I admired the peace and quiet, I didn't feel as akward with my father around. I wouldn't have to fake smiles, or lie, or even talk. I had the feeling I was being watched however, did my father follow me here? Was he that unsure that I could take care of myself? I looked at the now Mahogany colored sky, and bent over to pick up another wooden branch, when I heard a noise behind me. I automatically turned around to find nothing there, I looked around, nervous. I could have sworn I heard a leaf crumpling noise, my fears of being watched were only strengthened. I labled it off as my imagination playing tricks on me and headed back to the tent.

When I arrived, my father was sleeping in one of the folding chairs with his baseball cap pulled down, covering his eyes. It was almost dark, and I still couldn't help but think about the noise in the woods, I had walked back to the tent, feeling scared. It could have been an animal, but I would have seen it as I turned around, it made me nervous. I set down the firewood below the cooking pot and lit it using my lighter. The fire seemed to wake my dad up.
"Oh, you're back already." He said, half asleep. "You up for some smores?" I asked, smiling. He turned his head in a counter-clockwise direction and opened his eyes, fully waking up. "Are you kidding? I love smores." He said as he reached over for the marshmallows. I felt happy, we had found something in common, maybe this trip wouldn't be so bad after all.

The next half hour we spent laughing and chugging down smores, making fun of each other's chocolate covered faces. It was unimaginable that we would get along this quickly, I knew mom would be happy about it, at least. She didn't want me harboring any hate for him. Samuel was a good man, he was just a bit young back then, I guess. My smile suddenly faded when I saw something move behind the trees, this was officially looking like the Blair Witch Project. I stood up and put the bag of marshmallows down.
"I'll be right back, Samuel" Not even looking in his direction. "Where are you going?" Quickly looking for an excuse, I replied. "I-I gotta take a piss" I walked fast towards the trees, again, not even turning my head in his direction.

I didn't even know why I set off blindly into the darkness. I just wanted to find out if there was anyone spying on us. As I walked into the woods, I felt more and more nervous--and ridiculous. It was probably just a branch or a seed falling from a tree. I realized how stupid this whole thing was and stopped in a wide open area in the middle of the woods. I breathed in the cold night air and zipped up my jacket. I folded my arms, wrapping them around my jacket and turned around. I almost screamed due to the fear I felt at that moment.

There stood a growling wolf. His fur was black as night, and his fangs shone like silver in the dark, his bright gold eyes pierced into my soul, and I couldn't help but stand there, paralyzed in fear. I felt my life coming to a close, I knew I was going to die, it was inevitable. I thought about the position I was in, the situation was actually quite beautiful--and frightening. The wolf leaped at me, and I felt my heart stop as it threw me down. Its incredibly sharp fangs dug down into my chest, and I screamed in agony as it did. The pain was unimaginable, I didn't even try to pull it off of me, it was futile. As it started to rip my skin off, I heard a gunshot, the wolf stopped, and looked in the direction of the shot, as did I. There stood Samuel, my dad, with his hunting rifle aimed at my predator. The wolf howled, the sound echoing within my soul, and ran away. As it did, I saw the spots where the shots hit on his fur, smoke coming out of the wounds as they sealed, they seemed to have no effect on the beast. My vision blurred as I saw Samuel get closer to my injured body. A curtain of darkness finally descended as I passed out from the pain.

When I woke, I heard the crackle of burning wood outside, my head was throbbing, and my wound felt like it was on fire. I felt the area of the bite and discovered a bandage had been applied to it. I tried to sit up, shaking my entire body, but my injury stopped me, it hurt too much. I decided to rest and try again in the morning. I remembered what had happened before this. I remembered the piercing, golden eyes of the wolf, never before had I seen something so frightening, I shivered at the thought of it.
That was the spy. A wolf, carefully studying my every move so it could catch me alone. The phrase curiosity killed the cat flashed in my mind, and I couldn't help but laugh at the irony of the situation.

I wiggled my nose, I smelled actual food being cooked, it wasn't marshmallows being roasted that was for sure, before I could wonder any more, Samuel crawled into the tent with a bowl of soup.
"Oh, you've already woken, good" He said as he stirred the soup with a spoon. "If you were wondering about your wound, your skin's still in place, I got to you before the bastard got a chance to rip it off. I managed to bandage it quickly, so you didn't lose a lot of blood. But don't press yourself so hard" He handed me the soup. I inhaled its smell. "Wow" I thought. Not even mom made a soup this good. I remained quiet. Tasting the exceptionally delicious soup.
"I bet you'll be wanting to go home now." He guessed, sounding dissapointed. "No, that's all right, Samuel" Even though I hated this trip now, I didn't want to dissapoint him. Plus, I would get to fire a hunting rifle and fish in a river, I didn't want to miss out on that.
"Oh" He sounded surprised. "That's great! If you're feeling better tomorrow, we'll go hunting, how's that?" He was clearly excited. I smiled at him. "Sure, Samuel." He patted me on the shoulder and left. I drifted off into sleep, the wolf's image trapped in my head, unable to get out.
