FINAL FANTASY X
This is, in my opinion, the greatest game of all time. I may just be biased because it was the first Final Fantasy game I ever played, but I really think it subtlely outshines all the others.
First, the obvious one is graphics. It just looks so great. And the CGs are mouthwatering at times. I'll never forget the CG where our protagonists grinded down the cables from the airship onto the waiting walkways of Bevelle. So amazing.
Sound. Sound effects are quite believable. The music brings back so many memories for me. Some really amazing tracks highlight this one, including various compilations of the Hymn of the Faith and Suteki da Ne. One music track, Assault (played during that CG I described earlier), is my favorite FF track of all time. Number 1. This is a game where none of the music gets old for me. Even the repeating tracks of places like Luca and Mt. Gagazet stay sounding awesome all the way through for me.
Yuna is probably my favorite video game character of all time. Auron is an incredible badass. Tidus becomes likeable very quickly. Wakka throws balls at enemies. How can characters get any better?
A revamped battle system and a great leveling-up system that allows for an intense amount of customization keep things interesting at all times. Sometimes, when I finish Yuna's section of the sphere grid, I move her over to Tidus's so she can become agile and strong. And the CTB gauge at the top right of the screen during battle allows for some great strategy in the more difficult boss fights.
I don't think I've ever played such a complete game. It has everything going for it. And that's why Final Fantasy X is my #1 game of all time.
If I had made a top 15, these games would be my #15-#11.

Also, this game has my #1 favorite game soundtrack of all time. Mainly thanks to "Someday the Dream Will End" along with "Mount. Gagazet" and "Assault".
Oh, and btw, Assault also played in the Evrae boss fight I believe. Just as the song moved from the opening, it was timed perfectly with the transition into battle. I still remember it, because I played through that part again and again just to hear that song
Yuna is one of the most unselfish characters I've seen and the love story with her and Tidus is so heart felt,and the scene when they kiss and you hear suteki da ne play and the ending brought tears to many gamers,even many guys admit crying to this game,
My favorite character from the game is Auron by the way
@eternalcube - Lulu just got better as the game went on. And Yuna is amazing. If I had to choose my favorite entrance of an aeon, I would choose Yojimbo's, with the moon and the tree. Awesome.
@bigd575 - Thanks bud! I've probably put about 350 hours into this game altogether. Some friends and I would start a file together and I would just end up finishing it because it's that awesome.

@Zathic - The first CG scene with the blitzball was sick. It got me psyched to play the game. Auron is a BA for sure.

@hazelnutman - Dude, that was the 2nd hardest fight in the whole game, but I didn't spend two and a half hours on it! You're crazy! Assault is absolutely incredible. And it was played during the Evrae fight, but I think its best form comes during that CG I described. Just the music and CG together make it completely incredible.
@MonkeyStew - Thanks for being sexy. However, I think the music is awesome everywhere, haha. And I can see people saying it's not the best. It's a hard decision for me, I must admit.
@ZanarkandTidus - Yuna really is fantastic. I used to dream about FFX-2 and how much she would have changed in that amount of time. But she was still just as great. I remember meeting her for the first time in X at Besaid after she summoned Valefor. I was so excited. Sin's tsunami wiping out Kilika was so great and awe-inspiring at the same time. And the CG where she and Tidus made out literally made me scream with joy haha.

@alidallal - Thanks bud! You actually played yours in order hahaha. Those are all fantastic games. VII definitely deserves a #1 spot in many people's lists. And Auron is the epitome of hardcore.
