Why is it that every few days or so, I come on this website to look up some things and I see a blog complaining about reviews from Gamespot? Why do these people feel the need to cry about how their precious game didn't get a good review? Do they have anything to do other than sit around their computer inhaling food and disagree with stuff? Do they have any real friends (online friends do not count -- sorry folks)? Honestly, it's so pathetic.
I have a news flash for the hundreds of people's blogs I've come across complaining about a review: WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR WORTHLESS OPINION ABOUT SOMEBODY ELSE'S WORTHLESS OPINION. Because that's exactly what reviews are: opinions. I don't think people understand that (or they really are a worthless sack of crap that can't come up with anything better to do than waste their time on such a trivial subject). People complained about Bioshock getting a 9 saying, "It deserved at least a 9.5!" And now I'm even hearing, "What? Super Smash Bros. Brawl deserved a perfect 10! Not that laughable 9.5!" 0.5 points? Seriously?
And even if a game got a 6 or so and you think it deserves an 8 or higher, nobody cares. That may be a substantial difference, but that doesn't mean Gamespot is wrong and you're right. Regardless of whether you think it is great or not, I'll always take Gamespot's review over yours (which is usually heavy laden with spelling errors, incorrect punctuation, and immature fanboy bashing). I disagree with Gamespot all the time, but the difference is I don't whine like I'm 6 every time a game gets lower or higher than I think it deserves. I just think it's hilarious how people complain about Gamespot and call them biased (although they aren't) and then go and say, "The Wii is overrated!" Whatever.
Which brings me to my next point. STOP COMPARING GAMESPOT'S REVIEW SCORES TO OTHER GAMING WEBSITES/MAGAZINES. For instance, let's say Game X got a 7 on Gamespot, but received an 8-9 average from the other game reviewers. Inevitably, some moron will come on here and blog about how Gamespot is stupid, biased, and too hard on games because they weren't in the majority. You know who else wasn't in the majority? Martin Luther King Jr. Think about that.
This is not a personal attack on anybody in particular. Even still, I'm sure a large number of you (and you know who you are) will read this and either A) try to defend their position and lose or B) not say anything because they're smart enough to know they will get humiliated beyond belief.
I'll say this one last time (ha! That's doubtful). To all of you who feel the need to constantly complain about Gamespot's reviews -- go away. Don't read the reviews, don't comment in the forums, and don't write in your blog. Find a different medium to express your beyond annoying opinion. But above all else get some real flesh and blood friends. It might help you justify your up until now meaningless existence.

You first have to think about the purpose of reviews. Reviews are suppose to be something for consumers to base possable purchase desisions on right? Well, in that case, when a supposively professional review is completely opinionated and spends more time focusing on another topic than what is being reviewed, that doesn't really help a consumer in regards to purchasing the game. So whats his face doesn't like the fact that Army of Two isn't really accurate military wise, so what? He's suppose to be giving an in depth review of the game itself. It is a game after all, so it doesn't have to be 100% realistic. In fact, most aren't. I've talked to several customers while at work who will plainly state that Call of Duty 4 isn't accurate to the real military either, yet nobody's complaining...
I am normally one to not bother reading reviews, simply because I rarely trust them anymore, but even so, this one got me steamed because it is suppose to help a consumer buy or not buy a game. When the review is mostly spent arguing about the military, it does neither.
I could easily expand on this idea and tell you and everybody else reading this why it's such an idiotic thing to complain about, but I don't feel like getting a warning for being offensive (aka smart).
Sorry man, but you are being hypocritical in a way, complaining about people complaining. It's a vicious circle, I know.
And it's not that people are whining that they're written badly. Yes, BigC43 did mention Army of Two as a particularly poorly written review, but he didn't mention how he was complaining that Super Smash Bros. Brawl only got a 9.5 rather than a 10. Gasp! And that's not including the numerous other blogs he had bashing the score rather than taking an analytical approach to the text. And trust me, he's not the only one.
Judging whether you think the review is written poorly or not is completely different than whining that your precious game didn't get the score you think it deserves. THAT is what I was complaining about. Oh, Twilight Princess didn't get a 9? Boo hoo. You think Bioshock deserved at least a 9.5 rather than a 9? Get over it. I am NOT bashing people for discussing the quality of the review because every single review bash I've ever read (with the sole exception of BigC43 on Army of Two) is only about the score and how much they think it should have gotten higher or lower. You're right. You're allowed to disagree. But when I come on this website every couple of days and see yet ANOTHER stupid rant on the score of a game, it gets frustrating. Like I said, I disagree all the time but the difference is I don't whine about it like I'm 6. You obviously didn't pick that up. No disrespect, but you are on the opposite side of the ballpark, 100% wrong about the discussion at hand.
