Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Going into this, not knowing what to expect after almost 20 years, I really did enjoy it. It gave me good action, good fight scenes, good riddle/mystery solving (though I did see the alien aspect coming a mile away). Ford, of course, is great at...

Session 9
Pretty damn good movie. A complete psychological thriller about a clean up crew performing maintenance on an old abandoned insane asylum. Little by little the building seems to be driving fear into the minds of these workers. One by one, they...

Insomnia
Next to One Hour Photo, this is my next favorite film where Robin Williams shows his fantastic ability to perform dark, dramatic roles.
This show did have a nice running dark tone, despite it being in Alaska during their season of perpetual...

Iron Man
All around decent movie. Robert Downey Jr played it up to a tee, with a witty, twisted, and snappy sense of humor. It was interesting that there wasn't really a 'super-villian' till almost the end of the show. Stark was mostly just trying to right...

Vantage Point
All in all a decent movie. Unfortunately I found the ending a bit predictable and typical. But the way the story was told, through rewinds/flashbacks, was very interesting and unique. Each character was unique and interesting to the story. I can...

Cloverfield
Unfortunately the whole "giant monster attacks major world city" has been done so many times, it's hard be to original anymore.
But this show did a pretty good job at it. Mainly it was the camera work, shot entirely in the...

Stephen King's The Mist
Good adaptation, though not completely faithful, of the book. Good scares and "jump" moments without being over the top, along with nice tension building sequences. I also liked that the "action" moments were interspersed with...

The Invasion
This movie certainly had it's moments and feel. There was definitely a creep factor involved, and a certain sense of doom overhead.

However, it lacked the thick, dark feeling of the version from the late 70's. Considering in that...

Star Trek: The Voyage Home
This is probably my favorite of the Star Trek series movies. Mainly because of it's decidedly witty, humorous tone. From Spock attempting to swear, to Checkov asking where the 'nuclear wessels' are, to Scotty working on an 'ancient' (circa 1986)...

I Know Who Killed Me
She has sex. She swears a lot. She has sex again. She gets drunk. She has sex yet again.
Wait. It this an autobiography?

Transformers
This movie had great visuals and sound effects. I know those robots did look and move like that when I was a kid.
However, the monologues and expositions.....needed to go. That was the bane of this movie. Having the robots explain to us...

1408
Read the book, but it has nothing to do with it.
However, it was a very good movie.
The build ups, plus his denial of beyond life activity definately made this movie worth watching.

Spaceballs
Best Star Wars parody ever created. It definitely held to parts of the story, while being branded with Brooks' off beat sense of humor. Classic scenes include the many camera zooms that over-zoom, knocking someone in the head, and my favorite,...

Fracture
Anthony Hopkins is certainly an actor that will become a "classic" of our time, and his performance here shows it.
I do like the fact this was never a "who-done-it" show. They made it very clear at the beginning who did...

Lethal Weapon
Good action, good actors. But this has to be one of the classic "cop buddy" movies ever made. It had its action, drama, and even violence. But the thing that stands out is the almost-comedy, lighthearted part of this show.

The Last Unicorn
I was a kid and big into Dungeons & Dragons at the time of this release. So it was appropriate, and a must see for me.
Now as an adult, I'm very underwhelmed by this movie. But it definitely served its purpose at the time, when I did...

An Inconvenient Truth
This movie actually has good info, and even advice.
But I can't care about it because all I see is a prime hypocrite.
Al Gore continues to fly in big jets, and huge limos, trying to promote this. If he really is concerned about global...

Six Days Seven Nights
This show was half-way decent. A somewhat plodding storyline with an uninteresting eventual romantic interest between Ford and Heche.
But the chemistry was good, and had some very funny with the two of them.

Falling Down
One of my all time favorite Michael Douglas movies. It's a great commentary on modern society. Michael plays such a nasty, violent character, but everything he lashes out at are very relate-able. From false advertising to gang members to...

The Dark Crystal
I was just a kid back then, and big into the whole Dungeons & Dragons fad at the time, so this was a must see for me then. I was definitely not disappointed.
Sure, the FX leave a lot to be desired today. But the over all story and...

Jurassic Park
One of the best things about this movie is that the FX they created, in 1991 and 92, still equal, and sometimes even surpass, what we can do today, 15 years later. It just goes to prove that it's not what you have, but how you use it.
My...

The Game
Great job by Michael Douglas. The story line was great and kept me guessing the whole movie.I loved the amount of paranoia the "game" here produced in Douglas, seeming to leave him wondering if it was all real, or was he going crazy.

The Running Man
This has to be one of the WORST Stephen King adaptations ever. The movie has absolutely nothing to do with the short story. The story was thrilling, and had a sense of suspense and excitement. The movie had neither.
Maybe if I hadn't read...

Total Recall
A guilty pleasure. Somewhat decent plot line, coupled with half-way good effects, mainly the eyeball popping scenes....ick. This is really nothing but typical Arnold action/adventure fare. But it is a halfway decent one at that.

Being a hockey fan and player all I can say is....WOW! They did the best thing they possibly could, which in their own words was, "We didn't get actors and teach them to play hockey. We got hockey players and taught them to be...
