Before I begin, I love this track! Sonic 2 = Win!

Well, with this tune playing and the joys of this and the various other Sonic 2 zones playing in my head, I begin this latest blog entry. Anyways, while part of what I'll be talking about doesn't go back quite as far to the days of playing this excellent platformer, this does have something to do with older games. In general, something cool that happens everytime I pick up a new game is that after I'm done with it, I start to enjoy my older games more than I did before getting the new game. I believe I may have touched on this in the past, but after beating A Boy and His Blob, my other games suddenly look a bit more engaging. Lately, I've been playing games like Mario Kart Wii (FINALLY hit the 9000 point mark online in that game) and SSBB, and my interests in picking up a few of my older games on other systems exist again. It's funny... I think I look forward to getting new games because of this about as much as playing the new game itself at times.

In other news, shoryuken_ tagged me a while back, so I'm taking the time now (at 3:06 AM at the time of typing this, mind you) to share a few facts about myself. Quite frankly, this isn't my favorite thing to do by a mile, but I do try to honor these playful tag games to some degree. So... yeah... here goes:

1. I'm a HUGE basketball fan. In fact, I can't wait for the NBA season to kick off. Wait a sec, that's tonight! Awesomesauce!

2. I've never had a 'significant other,' and I don't intend on having one in the very immeadiate future. It's my mission to establish my own life before I add someone else into the picture. But, as you know, things happen...

3. For as long as I can remember, I've been able to bend one of my fingers to the back of my hand. It used to be a pretty popular thing back in elementary school, actually, and to this day, I can do it with not that much pain. Probably shouldn't be telling you guys this, but blame shoryuken_.

4. My favorite fruit are apples. In fact, I can eat apples with just about anything. Apparently, I've always been like this, though, ever since I was crazy about apple sauce baby food.

5. A few months back, I was actually recruited by the NAVY, and I took a bit of interest to it. I got an ASDAB test score that was apparently almost 50 points over the passing grade (and on top of that, I'm almost five years out of high school). I didn't commit to the NAVY, however, as I feel as though it's not what I'm looking for in my life, but the experience itself gave me confidence that I still have something special inside of me.

And one more thing. You guys are probably aware of this now, but I just wanted to let my readers know of my A Boy and His Blob review. I wouldn't be talking about this, but I was encouraged by a fellow Gamespotter that maybe I should make it aware that I posted the review in my next blog entry, so here it is. I can't believe it's actually the first player review of the game on the site, as I'm usually quite late and lazy when it comes to such things. Personally speaking, I don't think it's my best review, but I'll let you guys be the judge of that. Let me know what you think, in fact!

Well, that's all for now, I suppose. Thanks for reading. Peace!

Cool stuff. I tried the Navy reserve a while back, but turns out I couldn't handle it physically. Complications from a ruptured spleen when I was ten made almost everything painful. It's a good thing I have art or I'd be pretty much useless.

I read your Blob review...man, I think you need to be doing it professionally. The quality of that review rivaled or exceeded much of what I've read in places like here on GS and IGN. I gave it a thumbs up. Good job!

1. Cool. im not that into basketball, but my dad watches it sometimes. -
2. Thats how I feel about it. Get everything in your life straightened out before you find a girl to mess it up .
3. Me too . It freaks people out when I do it though .
4. I like apples too. but peaches are my favorite fruit by far .
5. Thats pretty cool. I have no plans on joining either. but you never know.

Can't wait for your review .

Dualmask:

I see. It seems as though joining the military is a pretty popular thing of late; I actually have a few of my peers that I went to school with that are joining the military in some form or another, specifically the Navy and Marines. Personally speaking, while I did look into the Navy for a brief period, I always knew I wanted to go down a different path. Plus, now that you bring up the physical challenges of it (speaking of which, I didn't know of your physical condition, so that was a little shocking, even though I think it's all working out well career-wise ), I may have had a few things from stopping me from joining in the end myself (a history of mild depression, migranes, and light asthma, in particular). I only really went as far as I did to take the test, which proved to be worth it.

And many thanks for the kind words on the review. I'm quite humbled, actually. When I completed the review, I feared that I may have been typing something that was too long and didn't quite get everything out, despite its length. I still feel like I have a ways to go as far as putting together reviews. Still, while I never really considered doing reviews professionally (I just don't think I have the patience to go through so many games to get the kind of info needed to produce reviews for all of them, among other things), I do try to put my best foot forward with these, so it's good to know I've done so. Once again, many thanks.

Umm, the review's posted. Take a look here:

Anyways, I feel as though I have to comment on a thing or two. Personally, I wouldn't see a girlfriend as 'messing up' my life or anything. Actually, the reason I want to establish my own lifestyle is so that I'm able to support not only myself, but whoever else may come along. As it is now, I can't really do much of either, so that's why I see it important that I don't get into to any relationship.

Man, this is starting to get to one of those points I've always feared... let me end this one quick.

Yeah, I noticed. Still, I did want to honor the tagging. At the very least, it means I'm being noticed to some extent. lol
