Crossed the pond yet again to pick up another British series. This time it's a UK production of James Fenimore Cooper's classic novel, The Last of the Mohicans. It first aired in Great Britain in 1971 and then aired in the United States as an installment of Masterpiece Theatre the following year. I've pretty much had to start the guide from scratch but fortunately the DVD of the series is available from Amazon. Anyway, working on the guide will keep me off the streets at night.

Congratulations! Leave it to the British to do the definitive production of an American author's best work. Well, at least our streets are safe again.

Actually the reviews I've read on Amazon and IMDB are kind of mixed. They praise the acting for the most part yet the battle scenes are described as hokey because they are set on a soundstage instead of being filmed outdoors. I guess the BBC must have been pretty cheap in those days.

Congrats Mad_Buck , it does sound like a few of the Westerns as well, I remember when I first started rewatching Bonanza imagine my shock and dismay when I realized it wasn't entirely filmed outdoors. I guess as a kid you don't notice those kinds of things.

Dare I ask what you use the streets for a night?

Always good to hear that the streets are safe at night - I'm sure local law enforcement appreciates the support. Happy Easter!
