I had to replace my PC last year because my hard drive broke and I couldn't recover my pictures or my music. I was so sad; I really had a lot of songs on that computer. I have been balancing rebuilding my music library while finding new music. September turned out to be a busy month for downloading.
New music I found included:
"Broken Strings" by Carefree
"Outta Here" by Esmee Denters
"Bulletproof" by La Roux
"Falling Down" by Space Cowboy
"I Surrender" by Discotronic
"I Know You Want Me" by Pitbull
Downloads to rebuild my music library included:
"(Sitting on) The Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding
"Outskirts of Town" by Josh White
"The Last Song" by Poison
"Greensleeves" by Rosalind McAllister
"Tobacco Road" by Rare Earth
"Margaritaville" by Alan Jackson
"Cinderella" by The Cheetah Girls
"What Do You Say to That" by George Strait
"All of Me" and "Night and Day" by Frank Sinatra
"Pain" and "Get Out Alive" by Three Days Grace
"Big Spender" and "Fever" by Peggy Lee
"Hey Trolly Lolly Lo" and "A Robyn" by I Faagiolini
"Last Drop" and "Calling Out My Name" by Kevin Lyttle
Bach's Fugue in G minor (BWV 1000) by Elizabeth Farr
Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" conducted by Neville Mariner
And then several of versions of Bach's Fugue in G minor (BWV 578.). Helmut Walcha, of course, is the premier interpreter of Bach but E. Power Biggs' version with a c 1assic pipe organ is superb and Jacques Loussier's version is an interesting jazz piano interpretation.
It will take awhile before my music library approaches what it was before but at least it is coming along.

Nice collection coming along. Did you have any Lionell Hampton? Nina Simone?
I try and back up everything important but I often never get around to it.
I love the sounds of the fifties. It was a huge library, more than a thousand songs that I had accumulated over years.
@FeltLyner
Thanks, I am working on it.
@polsci1503
There isn't much metal that I enjoy but Crack the Skye wasn't a bad album.
They tried everything. The only option was to send the thing to a clean lab and I couldn't afford that.
I love Lionel Hampton, especially his early stuff. Nina Simone will have to be on this month's list of downloads.
@korino55
Catchy isn't it?
My musical tastes are eclectic.
@johnsteed7
I had some video game soundtracks, oh, and some sound effects too. I wonder if I can find those again?
@mprezzy
I haven't heard of Polyphonic Spree. I will check them out.
Yeah, I learned the hard way to back up. I always do it at work but I never did for my home computer - 'till now.
@Foolz3h
I am backing up about once a month now.
I lost Larry Clinton's Shades of Hades album and a couple other of his works, mainly from the '30's. I love Claude Williams, there is something about jazz violin. Thanks for reminding me of him; I lost him as well and I will put him on this month's list. A couple of songs by Apocolyptica, "Unforgiven" and "I Don't Care" are in my library. I have my eye on Steel Panther. I heard a couple of songs from their new album that I might get when it is released. I have to admit that I am not crazy about either Greg J or Z-Trip but "Breakfast Club" and "Listen to the DJ" aren't too bad.
'Illinois' by Sufjan Stevens for me. Freaking fantastic record. Thanks Grooveshark!
@polsci1503 They were in town today! I wish I could've gone.
Sufijan Stevens would be hard for me to get into. I checked out that record and saw the longest title of a song I have ever seen!
@mprezzy
There is some music that I like just for the associated memories. I think "Reach for the Sun" would be one of them.
@horseyjesse
That song is one of my guilty pleasures. I am drawn to a couple of the lyrics. "Don't wanna depend on no one else. I’d rather rescue myself." and "Don't need nobody taking care of me" could be the theme to my life.
I will give "Rockafied" a listen.
I never had the albums Atomic Basie or Ella at Duke's. Right now, the only Count Basie I have is "One O'Clock Jump" and "Topsy". For Ella, I have the album The Best of the Songbooks, and the songs "That Old Black Magic" and "Summertime".
Are you familiar with Lurrie Bell? He is one of my favorite blues guitarists. His album Kiss of Sweet Blues is great. I lost the music I had of him and his father, Carey Bell (a blues harmonica player) but I will download it again sometime.
Thanks, I enjoy a wide range of music. I feel sorry for people when they say the only listen to (fill in the blank). I can usually find a song I like in most genres.
Atomic Basie is probably one of the best Basie albums I've heard (I got about 4 including the two you have). Ella At Dukes is classic, I even have it on Vinyl besides CD. It's just that good. Imagine My Frustration and that version of Cottontail are amazing.
I lost all my international music when I lost my hard drive. That has been the hardest to locate again.
@Subterranean500
Only the first six are newly discovered. The rest are songs I downloaded again because my hard drive broke. Most of the new songs are dance music.
I am think you will also like John Lee Hooker. He is a fantastic blues guitarist! But I am sure that you already have him.
@david_lck
Iit will take quite awhile to get back to where it was, But I enjoy music and like to discover artists that I have never heard before.
Oh, you were lucky! I just can't remember the names of most of the international artists that I found. But at least it forces me to find new ones.
@ImaginaryFriend
Yep, Carey Bell is pretty amazing. Did you download any of his stuff. My two favorites are "St. Louis Blues" and "So Easy to Love You".
Thanks, I always thought that you miss out on so much good music if you only limit yourself like that. And what I listen to depends on my mood.
