Summer is finally over. The furnace came on for the first time today - it is too cold to shower when it is 60 degrees in the house. I had to wear a jacket to work this morning and I needed to use the window defogger. And then this evening, I had to actually use an umbrella and the streets were flooding because leaves clogged the sewer drains. *sigh* Summer is over and fall has begun. Yay! My favorite season!

What is it about Autumn? It's my favorite season, too. The air is crisp and crystal clear, although summer's more welcome traits still linger in the D.C. area. It's pretty glorious for those of us lucky enough to work outside.

I have to admit that I like when the weather starts to turn cold.
@eggmcmuff
Late September and early October are Usually wonderful here in the Pacific Northwest. We have been a little dry lately so I don't mind the rain.

Winter is just over here!
It was warming up but now it's cold again. And raining a lot. Which is good, given the drought and all.
I used to love any weather as long as it was cold. (Including becoming cold). But now I'm the complete oposite! It got up to about 45C this summer, and that was wonderful.

My favorites are the changing seasons - autumn and spring. Also, I love the rain. It can't be green and pretty without the rain.

what a coincidence. It actually got cold enough today that I had to wear a sweater for the first time in this apartment.

I love this time of year but I still don't forgive you for making me watch that video TWICE!

I like the fall too... it's the winter I don't like too much. If I could just skip from fall to spring I think I could live on the mainland again.

I have to admit that I prefer winter to summer. I think it is due to my light sensitivity. I get headaches with bright sunshine, so I love gray rainy days.

Yeah, I know exactly what you're talkin' about. Be glad you don't live in Alaska, there is no fall, it's in one big hurry to get to winter, just no snow 'til late October, or sometime in November.

I haven't given in and turned the furnace on yet, but it's pretty chilly in here this morning--low 40's outside. I figure it'll be warm when I get back home.
I do so love fall and winter.

I'm just glad the 100+ degree days have finally stopped in my neck of the woods.

Yeah, I'll be washing the kids sweaters today, as yesterday was pretty cool in the morning. The afternoon was gorgeous, though, here in Georgia.
BTW, your new icon makes me sad.

Here, it got down to 38 degrees last night.

We can still keep the windows open in the afternoon and evening, but in the morning it gets brisk. I like it.

Yep, I woke up shivering like a chihuahua because SOMEONE *glares at girlfriend* thought it was too warm with the comforter. Her feet are like bricks of freaking ice, and did I get into the shower first? noooooooo. Ah well, fall is my favorite too, so lets hear it for fall and down comforters!

We can't skip fall! That is the best season of all.
@aryoshi
I think Alaska would have too much winter for me.
@notjessica
I tried not to give in but I am weak.

@EarthThatWas
Sounds like when I lived in the southwest, 100 degree temperatures from April to October. And no fall!
@GeekyDad
It took me awhile to find the jacket I wanted. It has been a beautiful September.
@msudude211
That isn't chilly - it is downright cold.

Warm afternoons but cool mornings sounds perfect.
@Frame_Dragger
Doesn't sound like a pleasant start to your day.
@mprezzy
I love fall. October is my favorite month and it is almost here.

I was anxious for Fall to get here too, but now that it has I realize I don't know where any of my jackets are...

@AlmightyMax
I had to look for my jacket too. I finally found it buried under a bunch of stuff. Now, I have to find my umbrella so I can give my boss back his.

@MJoanne: It was pretty funny really, and tonight I don't do ANY dishes... Life is good. How's your day panning out?
Your blog inspired me to buy a dozen fresh Macintosh apples (my autumn fav), and with a little help a dozen is already 8.
I tell yah, I love fall, even a surprise cold morning.
Posted Sep 30, 2009 10:50 am PT
I'm keeping my windows open! The fall air is so great, even if it is a bit chilly.
Posted Sep 30, 2009 10:52 am PT
@MJoanne hahaha im sorry though really, but it is funny
Posted Sep 30, 2009 4:15 pm PT
I was out last night after a movie and it was actually light jacket weather. I couldn't believe it. Bring on the cold!

Well, you know what they say; fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. So, I guess it was really my fault. I won't fall for it again!
@horseyjesse
There is nothing better than a sunny autumn day. I love almost every thing about this time of year!
