A bit of moan today. One thing that really annoys me is when people say that multiplayer comes first, or on the forums here on GS, when they say they're going to play multiplayer and not give a toss about the campaign. If you are one of these people, then I'm sorry, but I have to get this off my chest.
I saw one thread a few days ago, and this complete idiot was saying how he's getting Uncharted 2 , and is wondering whether or not the multiplayer is good, because thats all he's interested in. WTF!! Seriously!! But it gets worse... he said he only plays games for multiplayer and never experiences single player campaign. How can anyone do that!? Uncharted 2 has one of the best single players I've ever played, but he isn't going to play it. **** that! That is NOT normal!

I usually take the opposite approach. I'm more about the single player campaign, and will only play multi-player with people in the room with me. But that's mostly because I know I'll get my butt handed to me repeatedly if I go online 
I haven't really had the opportunity to play a lot of online co-op games though. That may be fun.

Well,I'm the Quite opposite,I Mainly play games for the single player experience,but i play some multiplayer from while to while,btw that guy is a dumb....!

Yay I also heard before that news, i saw a survey done on COD4 most people play multiplayer more and some even worst vote for play Multiplayer only .. only a fragment play Single player .. For me I always play Single player to the end only proceed to Multiplayer ..

Uncharted 2 have great single player campaign.My idea is opposite. He should get special games like COD series to play especially Modern Warfare 1 & 2.

These kinda people don't deserve to play campaigns as great as U2. It's really his loss. Plain and simple.

Single Player comes first EVERY time. I know for a matter of fact loads of people will jump straight on Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer straight away. Why? To pay £40-50 and just play multiplayer is completely stupid. I know some people on my friends list who have played CoD: World at War's multiplayer for over 10 days and haven't got half way into it's campaign.
Single Player > Multiplayer.
You don't get annoying 10 year old kids ruining your experience in Single Player too.

I know a lot of player who just play online multiplayer and not the single player mode. Most of them are good people, but idiot gamers. I to don't understand how someone would just play Multiplayer and not the single player mode. Online multiplyer is just an add-on to the game experience, unless the game is purely multipleyer.

I love single player, the story/setting/characters is what gives the game personality. Multiplayer is what gives the game longevity. I also prefer couch multiplayer over online, its just more fun!

I agree with you... the fact is most people see the simple act of logical thinking, deduction, and problem solving as too "hard" and quit the games before they even get into the game. I could go back in time and laugh when the only multiplayer modes that existed were LANs and you hoped to have 5 guys in an Unreal: Tournament room to have a decent game. Multiplayer vs. Campaign is no contest IMO... the MP is a bonus but the single player is a must for me to buy a game. You'll never see Zelda with or any of the other GREAT games (FFVII, MGS4) touted for multiplayer capabilities. Video games IMO should be more like a book and less like a laser tag experience.

I'm not going to lie, I really do love multiplayer, but I always play the single player first not just to play through it, but also to get used to everything!

I never check d a game s by its online, I always give the campaign most importance, after I'm done with it I try the online, if it doesn't appeal to me much then I stop playing or restart the campaign... I could get hooked on the online too though, but it's a rare case

IMO I think devs should stop putting multiplayer in there games.... why? Well I too am getting sick of people who will only buy a game if it has online or someone who only plays multiplayer. This is why I love Bioshock so much cause it stood up to all thos idiots who only buy games with online and said "too bad I guess your not hardcore enough for me". Sadly Bioshock 2 is going to have online so im pissed about that. But yes again im getting sick of seeing all these casual gamers who only buy games for online and devs should stop putting in online unless it works for that game Ex-Cod or Killzone. However the Uncharted 2 online works very very well to my surprise and I am very happy about that

you need to enjoy the campaighn and know the story behind the game before you can enjoy the multiplayer.... come on people enjoy your video games

That really ticks me off as well, when people say they just ditch the single-player in favor of multiplayer... I mean, online multiplayer is fun and all, but a ton of work is put into the main story as well. People these days make some damn stupid decisions with their games sometimes.... Like that guy you mentioned, who only played Uncharted 2 for multiplayer. That is such a dumb decision by that guy.. But hey, it's his loss.

depends on which game for example wolfenstein has a great campain, halo has great online. (theres plenty of other games like that such as cod 4 and unreal, half life and left 4 dead)

Everbody should play through the single player first before they dive into the multiplayer. You should experience the story before you play the multiplayer. No way would I ever play multiplayer before the single player! Its just kinda stupid.

i hear u. i know someone who bought uncharted 2 for 2 weeks and never played single until now. he is only playing online.
