Dear Bungie,

Why I hate halo 2 and why Halo 3 is going to suck it hard

You forgot that other than the steaming fan base who want to "finish the fight" Halo's multiplayer will end up outdated when compared to GOW. I expect much hate mail, but I give my OPINION without remorse. Bungie doesn't know what the hell they're doing when it comes to multiplayer. Halo was a success because of it's simplicity, system LAN parties, and the wonderfully brilliant pistol. Halo 2 degenerated this wonderful franchise and unfortunately became very popular. It's like when a horribly bad movie grosses well in the box office. Halo 2's Broken mechanics. 1. Cheaters (which bungie did little for, and if they did do anything, they obviously failed miserably. I find it hard to believe people intelligent enough to code a game can't outsmart the people who are cracking it to cheat)

2. Dual Wield- I'm aware that video games aren't real life, but the concept of firing two guns simultaneously and hitting ANYTHING (accuracy) is beyhond laughable. Dual wield ushered in a whole new mechanic that absolutely destroyed anything good in the halo games. How many BS kills have we encountered where we had the drop, had better accuracy, but because some noob had a better combo we end up getting pwned. which brings us to
3. Weapon Hogging, Spawn killing anyone? How many cheap deaths have we encountered because SMG blows? By not giving the player a good weapon to start, the game became all about rushing around the level to hog weapons. Which can get horribly frustrating. Even though halo 3 theoretically corrects this... Even they're admitting that this isn't a weapon to stand against sniper, which is a horribly unbalanced weapon. Why? it doesn't respawn often enough so you end up getting camping snipers picking off people without any opposition. I miss the halo days where you had the best weapon, and then it was a choice of shotgun, rockets (which the lock on feature implemented in halo 2 was waaaaaaay too friendly) or sniper. Alien weapons had always been laughable and ignorable. Halo 2 forced you to put up with broken weaponry because chances are, there was always too many people on your team for you to come away with anything remotely decent

4. Vehicle fun destroyed- Anyone who has played Halo 2 knows that the vehicles were turned into absolute death traps. While warthog was maybe a little unbalanced in Halo, Halo 2 made the warthog useless. What an utterly idiotic Idea, piling three quarters of your team into a warthog for a suicide mission? Why bother putting the hog in halo? Halo 3 also has the promise of another BS weapon, the spartan laser, making vehicles even less of a palatable option. So now we get to trek on foot across wide open multiplayer maps? no thanks. 5. Jumping- How can a half a ton spartan jump ten feet vertically? Even more so, why doesn't gravity drag him back down more quickly? I know if i was getting shot at and someone was trying to kill me, the first thing I would do is jump, yep seems completely logical to me. Halo 3 will sell well, but the more I read about it (thank you EGM and 1up) the less I like. It promises to correct little from halo 2 and just make things worse with further additions like spartan laser and keeping dual wields. I will finish the fight like many of you, but this assuredly broken piece of steaming crap that bungie is shoveling at us will remain an offline adventure for me. Bungie got lucky with Halo 1, and evidenced they really new nothing with halo 2. ( you watched the special edition disc right? E3 of 2004 all they basically had was a working demo, no complete levels. From May till October they churned out what we call halo 2, I don't trust Bungie because they procrastinate until what they churn out is a product that isn't throughouly tested enough. Halo 2 was rushed and incomplete, yet we still paid 50, 60 dollars for an incomplete game).

I will stick with GOW online, I personally find that even though it isn't perfect, it is refreshingly NOT HALO. I may be wrong about Halo 3, and it could be Bungie's redemption. It could have solid single player and multiplayer, but I cast a strong negative glance there way with extreme skepticism. Skepticism that is well earned I think. Many of you will disagree with me, but I know there are plenty of you who agree with my rant, and know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.~Chris~
