Haven't blogged on here in ages. Since my last post, lots has changes. I didn't bother getting Mercs 2, Force Unleashed or Far Cry 2. TFU was hanging on the DLC, and it's $10 for new skins.... ya, no thanks. I beat the game, I'm not coughing up $10 for a new level that'll add, I dunno, an hour at best? I rented Far Cry 2, and plain didn't like it. It may be a good game, but it's just not one for me. And Mercs 2... well, it'll probably be like the first one, I'll just wait for the price to drop.
Since then, my collection has grown immensly. I've now got Dead Space, Prince of Persia, Resistance 2 (all 3 up on the new banner!) Guitar Hero 4 and a few others. I've pretty much said to myself I'm done my gaming spending until next month, when Killzone 2 comes out. I'm planning on picking up a mic stand and drum stool to go with my guitar stand now that I have both the Rock Band and Guitar Hero band kits.
Another thing to ad, is that my clan, Legend, re-booted a while ago. We really need more members to join as our 4 teams aren't very big. If you play Call of Duty, Resistance 2, SOCOM Confrontation or Warhawk and are looking for a clan, check us out at http://legend.xpt.net!
Yea, that's pretty much all for now, Happy New Year! - Sandro
Need something to do? The Force Unleashed could use a movie.
I just finished my first playthrough of The Force Unleashed, and decided to go kill Vader, and got the Sith ending. Well, that's the alternate ending, so it was cool to see, but meaningless to a big Star Wars fan like me. Now I'm going to go back and battle the Emporer to get the Jedi ending. The game is really well done, and fun to play, but it gets way to hard at times, and why'd LucasArts make bringing the Star Destroyer down so boring? That's a bit of a disappointment, but seeing a well-done movie for this game would be very cool. - Sandro
Oh yes, they will be. I start working again, school is back, and so many good games are starting to come out! Since my last blog post, I've got the MGS4 Limited Edition and NHL 09, and I'm loving both. My EASHL Team (the Canucks.com Avatars) is fourth place in division one, so I'm pumped about that. But I also downloaded three new demos today. Pure, Fracture and Mercs 2. I'll start with Pure.
Pure is going to be a really fun game, and with all the new games coming out, I've had to choose which ones I will be buying. Pure has made the cut, because I had a lot of fun with the demo. The customization looks really good, the graphics are beautifully done, and I can't wait for it.
Next up is Fracture. Not much to say about this. Odd control scheme, solid graphics, but suffering from at least 90% of the problems Haze had. So I'm saying this game will suffer the same fate, because they almost exact, other than Fracture having a lack of Nectar, being in third-person, and again, better graphics.
Next is Mercs 2. The demo has disappointed me. Hearing about co-op got me so pumped, and last weekend I went to my friend's house to play it. I was pissed off when we found out co-op was online only! So we tried some single player, and Mercs 2 suffers graphically from the same problem as the first. Poor textures. But shooting the guns isn't satisfying at all, and the explosions aren't much. And one more thing made the fact that I've wasted three years of my life waiting for this game sink in. The lack of destructable enviroments. EA published DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company, which had some of the most destructable enviroments I've ever seen, yet they couldn't tell Pandemic to do this for Mercs 2, which is supposed to be all about the destruction? I will rent the full version to see if it's any better, but as of right now, I'm very disappointed.
First blog post in a couple weeks and it was a good one. Now I'll wait and see if I will be right about Pure and Fracture, and if the demo of Mercs 2 was misleading. - Sandro
