Trying Stuff Out is Just Yes!

Urmm herro!

Yea its me again. Just a quick update on everything that happened to me. Well nothing really so umm… Iono… I saw 9, the Tim Burton animated film. It was pretty impressive visually and technically, unlike Transformers 2. But the plot was too familiar and such. Throughout the movie I was waiting for Elijah Wood to say "I can't go on Sam!!!"

Some bad news… I'm not making any game acquisitions recently or for a couple of weeks. School has started and I want to put my attention on that for now. Imma still play 360 now and then but not too often. I'm going to wait until ROCKTOBER 13!!! Brutal Legend! Yeaaa. That's the next game I'm going to get. Well next retail game probably. I might get a points card and buy Jade Empire, I really want to try that. And also SHADOW COMPLEX. That game looks win. I really want it.

22222

Look at that intesity!!!

But other than that, I'm saving money for something special. But I'll still be around and be blogging n posting

So this blog will be bout the many game demos I played. Just my impressions of them.

Xbox 360 game demos:

Batman: Arkham Asylum: Now we all know this game just owns, but seriously this game just owns. The stealth is not punishing and quite easy once you get the hang of it. I find the hand to hand combat quite good and fun although your enemies don't seem much of a challenge. This game is awesome, I want it.

Ghostbusters: This game is actually pretty decent for a movie based game. Very nostalgic for people. I find using the photon pack really fun and actually quite interesting. Although when you don't have those traps thing all you do is shoot the ghosts which starts to make it feel like other third person shooters. It did give me some genuine scares here and there but not too much.

Wet: Now this game is pretty decent. They have some good ideas and the game is fun. But the game will get very boring later on and probably a lot more annoying. The rage mode where she gets blood on her eyes, remind me of the similar mode from Velvet Assassin. The ending part which involves the jumping from car to car scene was cool but just one big QTE. Its decent but prob not worth the full retail price.

Transformers 2: I played the first one on the PC and it sucked. This one is so mediocre it's not funny. The controls are kinda awkward, the shooting is stupid and the driving is terrible. I find the level design terrible and yea… The game is fun sure, for a while. But the gameplay is just so hollow and it'll get stupid after a while.

Darkest of Days: Okay this game has a genius idea. Play through historical battles through time travel from the Civil War to the Roman wars to the Wild West. That sounds pretty epic. But it's executed so terribly it sucks. The graphics are ugly, not much detail is put into the levels. The gunplay feels unbalanced and terrible. The AI are stupid, you can practically run in front of a group of natives and it will take a while for them to kill you. And plus due to the time era, reloading these weapons take a long time. This game sucks, good idea, terrible execution.

XBLA:

Trials HD: Now this game reminds me of Line Rider. You play as a motorcyclist on this long track with jumps, ramps and other crazy stuff. Now all you control is the weight distribution and speed of your guy. Now it may seem simple and all but this game can get quite hard if you don't make the bike land right. I remember spending 10 mins on one ramp because if done perfectly it would look epic! But when you crash you get treated to the game's funny ragdoll physics and pyrotechnics! This game is worth its money.

Splosion Man: This game is a platformer with some cool features. The exploding part is just another way of jumping so this game is not so different from other platformers. The level design is awesome and usually you could just go really fast, exploding off walls and barrels to get to the end of the level. I had some fun with it even tho I'm not a huge platformer fan.

The Secret of Monkey Island: SE: Now this is a puzzle game remake. Or something like that I being not a big fan of hard puzzles find this game not too appealing for me. But I did try it. And the gameplay consists of walking around and talking to people. Plus solving the occasional puzzle and talking to the right people. It is a good game, not many flaws to it. But it's just not the game for me.

Indie Games:

I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1: Now this game costs $1 if I'm not mistaken. Its practically Geometry Wars where u control movement with the left stick and shoot with the right stick. You just go around killing zombies while picking up weps and trying not to get killed. Eventually the new enemies besides zombies will appear and it's actually pretty fun. Plus the soundtrack is just epic!!

Miner Dig Deep: This game I think is a really really good indie game. You play as a miner and you go down into the ground mining for metals and stuff while avoiding rocks and such. You have a lamp which lights the way and shows you the blocks that could crush you. It depletes over time and u need to buy more oil for it. With the minerals you mine, you sell them to the store and use that money to buy better lamps or picks. You can also buy elevators for a quick way to the surface coz once your lamp dies out, ur stuck. It's like a mining rpg practically and it's a lot of fun. It's like 400 micro points. A very good deal.

So that's it for now… I will game a bit here and there but not much. Just waiting for Brutaaaaal Legend! That game looks sick!!! I also played the Shadow Complex demo but there's nothing needed to be said. That game is just win. I want it. Along with Jade Empire, which I am dwlding RIGHT NOW!!!

JD

In 85% time, I'll be playing this!

And well would'cha look at that, I'm a lvl 27 Sheng Long, a Street Fighter character. How awesome! My bday is coming up soon on Oct 4th… That's like in a week? Hmm.. Yea…

Well that's it see ya round… Have fun gaming and stuff
