Wii-lo!
Well that was lame… lol whatever. So I'm back with quite a bit of news. So let's go straight into it. ![]()
I finished a couple of games like Bully finally. That game is a heck of a lot of fun and I had it since spring. Everyone who owns a 360 or Wii and loves GTA should try out Bully. On the 360 its only $10 and it's a great game. It definitely has a lot of GTA elements, even the cut scenes remind you a lot of the GTA: SA cutscenes. The dated graphics aren't too bad and it's a fun game. A review? Maybe.. ![]()

"Here's my homework Mr. Galloway..."
I also finished Brutal Legend after 2 or 3 sittings of it. And I did all the side quests, I got like 83/120 dragons, 7/13 legends and 99% of the songs! That's just one more song somewhere!! Gonna be impossible to find! The game is great, it has one of the best escape sequence ever, with the most CHEESIEST METAL song to top it off, but it fits so well, it was so EPIC!
And also the last battle had on the best transitions I've seen from a cutscene to the gameplay.
The music choice was just great, they really picked some great songs in this game by some well known bands and some underappreciated bands aswell. The gameplay is alrite, the strategy is a little weird to get into first, but you'll get used to it. There is really not much reason to explore the world and do the side quests, and the map is pretty linear after the first area… The high qualities of this game is the story, character and dialogue. Overall the game is very entertaining but it tries to be many things at once. Look out for my review of my 2nd most anticipated game of the year.
Shadow Complex has been completed aswell and that game is great! A lot of backtracking even when the map is huge and it looks GREAT for an Xbox Live Arcade game. In the beginning, you feel very underwhelmed with a small peashooter or pistol.
But as you progress it becomes much more fun as you obtain parts for your EPIC SUIT. Although once you have the full suit, you get to spend little time with it. But you can do all this crazy things with your suit like go super fast, and fly rlly high and uhh other cool things! The platforming feels great the only bad part is how the game handles enemies that are behind you.

"Now, they will never leave."
You move in on 2 dimensions, left and right, up and down. Sometimes enemies come in from the background and will shoot at you where you have to aim at them by pushing the stick upwards, which usually will make you point at the sky. But it somehow points at the enemy and is hard to get used to. But overall that game is lots of fun and worth its money.
I think I finished a couple other games, but I'm blanking on them… I have a lot of games I haven't finished. A lot…
heh, I'll get around to them… Eventually… Hopefully..
So anyways, last week, I found a pretty good deal on a Wii. So yea, now I'm a Wii owner. Big deal. Let's move on. ![]()
Lol jokes. The deal included a Nintendo Wii with two wii motes and nunchuks, a nintendo clas*ic controller, 4 Mario Kart steering wheels, a charging dock, Super Smash Brothers Brawl and Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports and all for $250 CND. Yea after that my parents bought the Wii Fit Plus and I decided that Dead Space: Extraction should be the first game I should play for realz on the Wii. It's... pretty scary! I am getting used to the controls on the wiimote, trying to learn the buttons, there's a Z button! That's cool! More on Dead Space next time.

"Mom? Is that you?"
So yea, need to get some Wii games I need to get. Including Super Mario Galaxy, Okami, No More Heroes, MadWorld, de Blob and all that, so yea… I'm going to connect to the internet, but I won't share my Wii Friend Code or nething, for some particular reasons. Maybe I'll change it who knows.
Other things to note… I got Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story on the DS but I won't start that until later on.
Also it's the month of November! Three epic games that I really want are released in this month which includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed 2 and Left 4---- Dragon Age: Origins!
Yes DA: O came out yesterday but I prob won't get it right away or anytime soon. I need to save money so that I can get MW2 and Assassin's Creed 2 first. Every time I see gameplay footage of those two games, I get more hyped up for them! They look great and I really can't wait for them! ![]()
So yea, that's it for now. Next blog will probably right after I play Assassin's Creed 2, which I can't wait for, did I mention that?
Yea my 97th blog I think? Yup nearing the 100th mark.
Oh and I'm lvl 28 now… Bionic Commando. Pretty cool. See ya'll round then.
Btw, have you guys seen the Assassin's Creed Lineage Episode 1 video? It's some crazy stuff!
Yea so, it's me.
Well nothing much is happening over here. Going to school, eating, sleeping, breathing growing… Yea what a boring routine. Thank god for video games! ![]()
So Shadow Complex is incredibly awesome. You see, me and platformers, we don't mix well. But Shadow Complex is really fun and quite addicting for an arcade sidescroller. The environment looks amazing even though you can only move in two dimensions. Once you get suited up, that game is epic. ![]()
Jade Empire is indeed quite awesome as well. I noticed one thing, BioWare does some pretty good cutscenes I've seen. Mass Effect had really great cinematics and look at the Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2 trailers, they are pretty well done. (Well cept that DA: O Marilyn Manson trailer, I did not like it
) Jade Empire, started off pretty slow, but once I got used to the combat, the game got going is really fun! Mind you I don't think I'm even 1/5 or less of the way through. Oh and I got one of the best companions ever!!! Its a little girl... but once in combat she calls her big@ss DEMON MONSTER THING whos so cool! ![]()

Well I downloaded a few demos, including the demo of this strategy game called Bladestorm. Yea it SUCKS.
Plus I also downloaded a game demo many people say is incredibly hard but has very fun gameplay. I'm not a fan of hard games, or games that make me frustrated doing the same thing over and over again. So I just dwlded this demo, not expecting much from it, or even wanting to buy it. Man was I wrong.
I'm not very big into the hack and slash action game genres. I find trying to remember all these complicated combos annoying. (I barely remember any in Bully.) But once I got my hands on Ninja Gaiden 2, after the first enemy I mutilated, I didn't care if it was incredibly hard, the game is only $30, I want it.

The combat is just so pleasingly amazing! Lol I just find it really addicting to chop people up with my scythe or claws with very responsive controls and awesome kills. You do have to pay attention to the game to dodge and time ur attacks right and it is indeed very awesome. The enjoyment from this game lead me to buy the next game on the list. ![]()
Ninja Gaiden Black feels as great as Ninja Gaiden 2 and I'm doing okay although I have gotten into some spots which I found impossible, like those spearmen on horses. Like seriously, horses? Cmon! I liked horses (oblivion) but now they're a pain in the neck… But I got through most parts after figuring out how to defeat them and all. I wish there was some sort of map marker, so that I know that I'm heading in the right direction. Yes, it's a good game and it also got me very interested in Platinum Games'(Makers of MadWorld) Bayonetta.
That game looks epic and seems not be very hard. I heard there's a super easy mode that you could play with one hand. Yea looks really good aswell. Let's hope this game sells much better than MadWorld. ![]()

Anyways, last acquisition I got was, my long awaited, number 2 most anticipated game of 2009, Double Fine's BRUTAL LEGEND. Now straight up, I'm being honest. The game did not meet my expectations, which were pretty high… So yea that's the problem, but this game is still very fun. The side missions were very disappointing because there was a lot of them and they were pretty much all the same thing… I still am getting used to the strategy part of the game, but overall this game is entertaining. Very predictable plot but its a very very creative world. And theres heavy metal, what more could i ask for? And it's actually funny! I had some
moments. I'll talk more about it once I play more of it, maybe even a review. And plus, Brutal Legend, has one of the best main menus of all time!
Well yea, pretty much what I've been playing. I can't wait for Assassin's Creed 2, that game looks pretty epic right now. And the other game I want to play very badly is Heavy Rain and The Last Guardian. Those two games look incredible, especially Heavy Rain. That game looks like it could actually make me feel strong emotions while playing it, and tell many different stories from how you play the game. I want to play that game so bad… ![]()

So one more bit of news. You might have noticed that I recently added a lot of games on my wishlist. A bunch of Wii games.
Why would I do that? Well maybe I might be getting a Wii very soon! Yes, a Wii is mine to buy, well maybe. So yea, getting prepped up for my Wii, I still am not sure what game to get first if I do get a Wii, but yea whatever, I hope I get one!
So that's it for now. Cheerio. Me and my buds are going to go form a mosh pit and stampede the mall! ![]()
Urmm herro! ![]()
Yea its me again. Just a quick update on everything that happened to me. Well nothing really so umm… Iono… I saw 9, the Tim Burton animated film. It was pretty impressive visually and technically, unlike Transformers 2. But the plot was too familiar and such. Throughout the movie I was waiting for Elijah Wood to say "I can't go on Sam!!!" ![]()
Some bad news… I'm not making any game acquisitions recently or for a couple of weeks. School has started and I want to put my attention on that for now. Imma still play 360 now and then but not too often. I'm going to wait until ROCKTOBER 13!!! Brutal Legend!
Yeaaa. That's the next game I'm going to get. Well next retail game probably. I might get a points card and buy Jade Empire, I really want to try that. And also SHADOW COMPLEX. That game looks win. I really want it.

Look at that intesity!!!
But other than that, I'm saving money for something special. But I'll still be around and be blogging n posting
So this blog will be bout the many game demos I played. Just my impressions of them.
Xbox 360 game demos:
Batman: Arkham Asylum: Now we all know this game just owns, but seriously this game just owns. The stealth is not punishing and quite easy once you get the hang of it. I find the hand to hand combat quite good and fun although your enemies don't seem much of a challenge. This game is awesome, I want it. ![]()
Ghostbusters: This game is actually pretty decent for a movie based game. Very nostalgic for people. I find using the photon pack really fun and actually quite interesting. Although when you don't have those traps thing all you do is shoot the ghosts which starts to make it feel like other third person shooters. It did give me some genuine scares here and there but not too much.
Wet: Now this game is pretty decent. They have some good ideas and the game is fun. But the game will get very boring later on and probably a lot more annoying. The rage mode where she gets blood on her eyes, remind me of the similar mode from Velvet Assassin. The ending part which involves the jumping from car to car scene was cool but just one big QTE. Its decent but prob not worth the full retail price.
Transformers 2: I played the first one on the PC and it sucked. This one is so mediocre it's not funny. The controls are kinda awkward, the shooting is stupid and the driving is terrible. I find the level design terrible and yea… The game is fun sure, for a while. But the gameplay is just so hollow and it'll get stupid after a while.
Darkest of Days: Okay this game has a genius idea. Play through historical battles through time travel from the Civil War to the Roman wars to the Wild West. That sounds pretty epic. But it's executed so terribly it sucks. The graphics are ugly, not much detail is put into the levels. The gunplay feels unbalanced and terrible. The AI are stupid, you can practically run in front of a group of natives and it will take a while for them to kill you. And plus due to the time era, reloading these weapons take a long time. This game sucks, good idea, terrible execution. ![]()
XBLA:
Trials HD: Now this game reminds me of Line Rider. You play as a motorcyclist on this long track with jumps, ramps and other crazy stuff. Now all you control is the weight distribution and speed of your guy. Now it may seem simple and all but this game can get quite hard if you don't make the bike land right. I remember spending 10 mins on one ramp because if done perfectly it would look epic! But when you crash you get treated to the game's funny ragdoll physics and pyrotechnics! This game is worth its money.
Splosion Man: This game is a platformer with some cool features. The exploding part is just another way of jumping so this game is not so different from other platformers. The level design is awesome and usually you could just go really fast, exploding off walls and barrels to get to the end of the level. I had some fun with it even tho I'm not a huge platformer fan.
The Secret of Monkey Island: SE: Now this is a puzzle game remake. Or something like that
I being not a big fan of hard puzzles find this game not too appealing for me. But I did try it. And the gameplay consists of walking around and talking to people. Plus solving the occasional puzzle and talking to the right people. It is a good game, not many flaws to it. But it's just not the game for me.
Indie Games:
I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1: Now this game costs $1 if I'm not mistaken. Its practically Geometry Wars where u control movement with the left stick and shoot with the right stick. You just go around killing zombies while picking up weps and trying not to get killed. Eventually the new enemies besides zombies will appear and it's actually pretty fun. Plus the soundtrack is just epic!! ![]()
Miner Dig Deep: This game I think is a really really good indie game. You play as a miner and you go down into the ground mining for metals and stuff while avoiding rocks and such. You have a lamp which lights the way and shows you the blocks that could crush you. It depletes over time and u need to buy more oil for it. With the minerals you mine, you sell them to the store and use that money to buy better lamps or picks. You can also buy elevators for a quick way to the surface coz once your lamp dies out, ur stuck. It's like a mining rpg practically and it's a lot of fun. It's like 400 micro points. A very good deal.
So that's it for now… I will game a bit here and there but not much. Just waiting for Brutaaaaal Legend! That game looks sick!!!
I also played the Shadow Complex demo but there's nothing needed to be said. That game is just win. I want it. Along with Jade Empire, which I am dwlding RIGHT NOW!!!

In 85% time, I'll be playing this!
And well would'cha look at that, I'm a lvl 27 Sheng Long, a Street Fighter character. How awesome! My bday is coming up soon on Oct 4th… That's like in a week? Hmm.. Yea…
Well that's it see ya round… Have fun gaming and stuff ![]()
