An acquaintance introduced me to this band in 2006. But he made a grave mistake. He told me that they'd broken up, which he thought was the case since they hadn't released an album in five years. That was definitely not the case. Anyhow, I liked...

X-Men: The Last Stand
I quite enjoyed this movie. Ian McKellan was fabulous, as always, as was Patrick Stewart. Halle Berry really stepped up, and should be commended. Very entertaining, solid movie for the third in a series. I liked it a lot better than the second one.

Sydney White
Cute, silly, and lame comedy. It was everything I expected! For me, Jack Carpenter stole the show as the loveable geek Lenny. I liked that they didn't try to force things, having Sydney end up falling for one of her geeks. The Snow White allusions...

Superbad
Stupidest film I've seen all year... but that's a good thing! Lots of laughs here, and I just totally adore Seth Rogen. If you want my advice, go in expecting nothing, and you'll love this flick.

Phat Girlz
Makes me sad that the score for this movie is so low. I really enjoyed it. Just goes to show what makes money in Hollywood these days, and that you can't always trust the critics... I found this movie really refreshing--a true gem. What a great...

28 Weeks Later
I feel queasy. Seriously, this movie really made me feel ill. It was a great follow-up. Sad, violent (a bit too violent for my personal taste) but all the same, a great sequel. Good story-line, very creative. But seeing a dude bite a chick's...

The Simpsons Movie
Meh. It's pretty much a longer version of the tv show. They even make fun of this fact during the movie. Also, I kinda liked it, but it also went against the past... when Bart became a Flanders fanboi. Made me feel bad that Homer's been such a...

The Bourne Ultimatum
Loved it! Matt Damon is so fantastic as Jason Bourne. The audience was totally into it, which made me really happy that I went to the opening night. We applauded Jason after he kicked some ass early on, and that happened several times. I also felt...

Prime
I love this movie! It's really nice to see a flick about a couple that's truly in love despite their age difference. The fact that they're already linked through Dave's mother (who is Raffi's therapist) makes it amazingly funny. Definitely a fun...

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I went in just expecting to take the movie for what it was... I've been so disappointed in the past, the way they chopped the books up so much. This time, I opted NOT to re-read the book near to the movie being released, because if I did, I'd be...

Sicko
I went to see Sicko on the weekend, on the recommendation of a friend. I really enjoyed it, despite not being a fan of Michael Moore's other work. I was a bit apprehensive when it opened with a man doing his own stitches because he didn't have...

Spider-Man 3
I liked Spider-Man 3 as much as I expected I would. Topher Grace got on my nerves... I thought the black Spidey suit was particularly cool. Was it me, or did both Tobey Maguire and James Franco look really dark and evil? I mean, I get that they...

I really liked Gabriel in "Because I Said So." He was great! Very likeable, and I can definitely see him in more leading-man type roles. I remember him from "American Outlaws" as well, where he was also really likeable. Winning...

Four Rooms
I love Tim Roth, and this is definitely one of my favorites that he's been in. It really shows how fabulous an actor he is. It's hilarious seeing all the different guests in the hotel and how everything fits together in the end. New Year's Eve is...

Life as a House
This movie is amazing. I absolutely loved it. Kevin Kline and Hayden Christiansen's performances had me bawling by the end, and it's pretty rare for a movie to do that to me. Excellent, heart-warming (and heart-breaking) story. A lot of people...

Jarhead
I really liked this movie. Jake Gyllenhaal was fabulous as always. Like a lot of others who've already reviewed it, I am not usually one to like war movies. I can't say what it's like, never having been in the military, but this movie felt a bit...

Breach
Ryan Phillippe has come a long way since "Cruel Intentions." I used to be somewhat irritated be him, since I didn't feel he was really much of an actor (more just a pretty face). This movie really shows that's no longer the case. He...

Music and Lyrics
Loved it just as much as I thought I would. It is a chick-flick through and through. It's a very simple story, when it comes down to it, about a girl who is a bit neurotic after having a relationship end and a former pop-star trying to climb his...

Not only is Zach Braff super talented and motivated, he is a comic genius. He has great timing, and always makes me laugh. Zach and Donald Faison work really well together. I love watching Scrubs re-runs late at night. The Garden State was...

Classic, classic baseball movie. I loved every minute of it. Charlie Sheen rocks as "Wild Thing" and the romance story also helps move this along. I never get tired of watching it. I love the way the team is able to turn it around and...

Major League: Back to the Minors
This was a great movie, way better than I'd hoped! I figured it'd be pretty lame, since it was the third Major League, with pretty much nobody (except two) from the original movie. I really think this would have done well in the theatres if it was...

American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile
This could have been released in the theatres. It was definitely a lot better than the last one (Band Camp) and recaptured the charm of the first movie, with the lead being an innocent, less-experienced guy.

American Pie 2
Really enjoyed this one, though not as much as the original. It was definitely the perfect follow-up, seeing the group of friends on their summer vacation at the lake. The band camp scenes were priceless.

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
This is the movie that never got old for me. The touching tale of a young boy who finds an alien and decides to take it home with him. When I was a kid, I saw this a whopping SEVEN times in the theatre. I just couldn't get enough. It's a classic,...
