Ok, well this is like the most annoying videogame experience that's
happened to me yet. Yesterday I was flying around in Falcon 4.0 Allied
Force. I was on a mission where I had to attack a tank batallion and
destroy a few with some bombs. Anyway, I took out a TON of tanks, like
I had 6 bombs and with each I blew up around 5 on average (the biggest
was 1 bomb and like maybe 15-20 tanks). So I probably blew up around
20-30 tanks with that run. I had also scored 2 air kills before I did
that. Then when I was flying home, some enemy fighters appeared and
started firing missiles at me. They shot like 5 or 6 and I managed to
dodge all of them, but my wingman died with the first missile they shot
at him. So, I keep dodging until I run out of chaff (for confusing
radar missiles) and I fly home as fast as I can. I keep radioing the
AWACS to send help because I'm in a real pickle with like 4 Su-27s
armed with long range radar guided missiles chasing me while I have no
chance of evading their missiles. I keep the jet on full throttle (not
afterburner) and fly below 300ft to keep them from getting a lock. They
chase me like 50 miles until I get to waypoint 5 which is 130NM from my
airbase. Around that time I get saved by a flight group of F-18s that
the AWACS probably sent to help me, and so I'm home free at 126NM out
from base. I start my climb and switch to an external view when...the
screen goes black and the game crashes .
I swear I probably cried at that moment because I had never done a
mission better than that. Who knows? If I had arrived at base I
probably would have gotten promoted to Lt. Colonel (I'm a Major) and I
definitely would have earned some kind of medal [the game scores stuff
for medals by adding up the number of ground and air targets you
destroy, and the more missiles that get fired at you, the less targets
it takes to earn a medal or promotion, and I had like 6 missiles fired
at me]. So, well I was EXTREMELY disappointed in my computer. I was so
depressed that I just turned it off and burned a videogame clip onto a
CD and when I came down here to upload it and maybe write this blog
entry on it, my dad was on the computer, so I went upstairs and just
played Splinter Cell. Anyway, I'm going to try and upload a videogame
clip.
