The Ps3 and Wii will be making their debut appearance this weekend, storming retailers across the nation. For anyone who is shocked by this news...double shame on you. I for one have been enjoying the media coverage of all this madness. It's quite amusing watching the local stations gobble this up, injecting as many gaming puns as they can into their story. One thing that I was a bit surprised about was the amount of non gamers in line looking to make a profit by selling their Ps3's on eBay. I mean...we are talking maybe 1,000 to 1,500 buckaroos, tops. To me...that is just not enough dough to stand in line with a bunch of under-showered, over-hyper, slightly-insane, testosterone-filled guys. I have yet to see one lady in the videos I have checked out so far...I would be very lonely indeed if I did choose to go.

So...how many of you have pre-ordered? How many of you are standing in line? (either being or being with the lovely group mentioned above) How many of you are waiting for the madness to die down and then snagging your system? **raises hand** It will be very interesting to see how all this plays out over the weekend. (gaming pun not intended )

In my opinion all those people standing in line and / or camping out are foolish. It's been common knowledge that there are going to be only 12 to 24 PS3 consoles allotted to each store and if you wait in line and you are the 25th person you may as well go home. Besides, like you said, most of the people are probably going to re-sell it on e-bay. Personally, I'd wait for awhile before I bought one anyway, if I buy one at all. I'd want to see them get all the bugs out of it first before I spend that kind of money for it. SONY has already left a bad taste in my mouth from the 3 PS2's that have died on me in the last 4 years.

Sorry but I have a 360. Gears or wars is short but really great, Oblivion rocks and let's hope so for Resident evil 5 and Halo 3

That's one reason I usually wait on systems, Sony & Microsoft have never had "perfect" new consoles. Something always over heats, doesn't read, stops functioning, etc. Nintendo on the other hand is a different story...I have yet to experience or hear about any issues with their newly released systems. I suppose I'd be willing to brave the long lines for the Wiii...but my new 360 is keeping me in the house this weekend.

I pre-ordered my PS2 and got it launch. After about 3 years it stopped reading the blue back discs. I could have sent it to Sony to fix but I bought a new one instead since the price had dropped. I also pre-ordered my Xbox 360 and got it at launch. So far I have been lucky and have had not problems with it. Now both systems I pre-orderd from Gamestop five to six months in advance. Gamestop took so many pre-orderes with the 360 and they only had around 20 systems at launch. They learned from this and for the PS3 and Wii let only the first 15 people pre-order a system on certain dates a month ago. I got a call from Gamestop the night before they started taking pre-orders. The woman told me that people were already camping out in front of the store. I don't camp out. That's why I pre-order. To camp out for a pre-order blows my mind. With that said I will not have a PS3 at launch. For once I will wait like most people. I'm very happy with my 360 but within the next 6 months it will have two friends sitting next to it.

Hey Legadia, I've been watching the G4 network (First time in months) for the latest hype. I'm not much of a fan of G4, as we all know, they destroyed that station for the most part, but it's been interesting lately. Besides that, it's a good time for gamers as this is exciting times. I'm probably going to pick up a 360 though, as I am primarily a PC gamer, but I like to have at least 1 console laying around. When it comes to consoles, i'm very impartial, but i'm really not that impressed with Sony's lineup, or the Wii lineup at this point, but that could change. The 360 has such a foothold right now, and they have an excellent price point, plus many games to choose from. With the 360, plus building a new PC in the next coming months, I should be set for a while. This all being contingent so long as my job doesn't send me off again into the middle of nowhere for the 3rd straight year - I still need to pickup a handheld, now, for the PSP or the DS?? Seems like the DS is looking good right now......... Happy Gaming and I hope all is well
