I know you probably think, what's she talking about... International within national borders...
You can't go international within your countries borders.
Well technically no, but with a bit of fantasy you can in my country:
the Netherlands !! ![]()
Pack your suitcase and come along to....
This is the map of The Netherlands for those who haven't a clue of what it looks like ![]()
I will mention one of the twelve provinces where you can find the location.
Just in case you really want to go there !!

Let's start with America, just for the americans among us.
It's in Limburg and so is Californië.
Probably not as sunny as the
original state but you can't have it all, fooks !!
If you ever want to celebrate Carnaval,
you have to go to Limburgs capitol Maastricht.
They know how to do it the right way. ![]()
Ever been to South Carolina? Well it's in Noord-Brabant.
In Dutch it's Zuid-Carolina but who's complaining ![]()
Don't worry Europe is here aswell!
Let's jump across the North Sea.
We can go to Engeland (dutch for England)in Overijssel and Gelderland.
Yes we've go two of them... in case one of them is closed, boring or whatever ![]()
And while we're there, we could stop over in Bath which is in Zeeland.
The English Bath is known for it's university and roman baths if I'm correct. I have to disappoint you, you won't find romans in our Bath....
As you can see we could also go to Denmark, you have to look for this sign! It's in Groningen.
Ever wanted to visit the Saint Petruschurch in Rome. Well we don't have to go that far.
Rome is a place you can find in Gelderland (about 10 km's from my own town).
And this church is in Oudenbosch (Noord-Brabant) within reach in about 45 minutes from where I live.
The architect P. Cuijpers started the work in 1864 and this model is scaled 1:3 with the real one.
'Be more Catholic then the Pope' does apply here don't you think?

You don't have to go to Egypt to visit a pyramide. We have a Pyramide within our borders too.
You can find it in Zeeland. Searching for a Paradise. Go to Zeeland aswell!
It's called Paradijs in Dutch but that won't make a difference will it
.
Not only the Americans can find their home here. So can the Russians.
After all we didn't invent the Poldermodel for notting. Compromising is our middle name !!
Nieuw (New) Moscou is in Drenthe and another Moskou is in Friesland. Depends on how you learned to write it down I guess ![]()

Switserland. The land of the watches and clocks.
This is the one Einstein looked at while he lived in Bern the Capitol of Switserland.
Bern is also in The Netherlands. 15 km from my town. It's a small village near the river maas.
Which originates in France. And yes we have Frankrijk (France) aswell. Both Bern and Frankrijk are in Gelderland.
Our trip isn't over yet!

You don't need a plane or cruiseship to see Saint Martin (Sint Maarten) in Noord-Holland.
All you need is a set of wheels, on your car, train, bus or mayby your bike ![]()
It's not as warm or sunny as on the island but then again it's not as expensive to get there either so... make up your mind and start traveling...!
Mayby you sould wait till the winterseason. It might snow in Noord-Holland.
That's something rare on Saint Martin I bet! ![]()
Okay I admit trip is allmost over now... I'm sorry to spoil your good holidayspirit.
But hey we could still go to Turkeye in Zeeland or Zürich up north in Friesland. Don't need a plane again... just a lot of time if you want to see them both on the same day. It's about 5 hours or more apart from eachother. ![]()
I know, you probably wonder and what's next. Why read this blog. Why doesn't she stick it where the sun doesn't shine...
Hate to disappoint you again.
We could travel to Rectum.
Yes that's right the area where we just put the sun away
You can find this hole in Overijssel. And yes even there the sun does shine every now and then....
Didn't I tell you I could travel international within our Dutch borders?
Time to unpack the suitcases again... to take a look at the picturetaken and....
See you....
Mayby in my own town Zaltbommel.
Somewhere in the middle !!
Like I mentioned, we're good at compromising! ![]()

so many places in such a little country!!!!
I love your blog !!!! But one thing... I thought California was a little village in the Emilia
My husband went there a lot as a truck-driver. Still misses Italy... his employer doesn't work there anymore! You should hear him order in a Italian restaurant. He always teases the waiter. Just ordering in Italian whether the guy understands it or not! Don't know anything about California in that area... The Americanos probably took a lot from Europe when they left on the Mayflower including California..
I confuse waiters here, but usually they understand me, but they are from the south while my accent is from the north (middle north) - but I can do some pretty good roman phrases
oh yes, missing Italy, I know that
Stupid me, sorry!
It's build in 1804 for the glory of Napoleon and it marks the highest point of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
These days it also contains a playground for the kids and it's free to enter so whenever you're in the neighborhood...
You can find it in Austerlitz.. near Soest yep the one with the old palace which you can visit aswell.
http://www.pyramidevanausterlitz.nl will tell it all
Californië is along the A73 highway between Venray and Venlo. (about 15 km's north from Venlo).
Klein Zwitserland (small Switserland)
Just in case you want to go there as well on your international trip
I drove by Bern last week and thought about the fact that I don't need to go that far for an international trip. So... took the map of Holland and see what happens
NCISnl
but... is there really a pyramide in Zeeland??? Like.. where??
I work at a small chartographic comp, and cause of that... I get round
