Hey there. I actually have news to post, which is exciting. As of...last Thursday (Ok, so I'm a little late with my news), I am (one of) the newest drivers in the great state of California.
Yup! Finally got my drivers license. I started the process last September, so I'm glad I finally got it all out of the way.
In other news, I'll be gone from August 1st-8th. I'm going to St. Louis (we have family there), so that should be fun. We're leaving pretty early tomorrow morning, which means that I (and I am not, nor will I ever be an early bird), will have to wake up...really early. Like, 4 am early. Ugh. The one thing I hate about taking trips is my cat's reaction. Silly, I know. But as soon as she sees our suitcases, she becomes depressed.
My poor kitty.
I'm no further along in my history reading/notes. Plus, my mom doesn't want me lugging the book along on the plane. And after I get back, I only have about....2 weeks until school starts. Which is so...blech. It still feels like school just ended. Going back is not something I want to think about. I don't see anything good coming out of junior year. Except for the tennis team, which should be fun...except for the fact that I hurt my wrist a few months ago. (If your door is stuck, don't try to open it by banging your arm into it. Trust me. I know).
So I had x-rays taken of my wrist. I got the results back, and apparently, my bones don't align correctly (the doctor had some fancier name for it, which I don't remember), which causes me pain, especially when I play tennis. But the season is only 2 months, so I think I'm going to play anyway.
So yup, that's all for now. See you in a week.
This is the THIRD time I have attempted to write a new blog. Yup. Third. No, I'm not a total failure at technology. The first time was my fault. I hit a wrong button, bam, blog gone. So I re-typed it the second time, hit Post Entry, but my stinky computer refused. So here we go again.
...I'm attempting to remember what I wrote about yesterday before it self-destructed on me...
Ok! The All Star game. I'm a pretty big baseball fan. I live in SF Giants territory and my favorite team just happens to be the St. Louis Cardinals. So naturally, I wanted the National League to win. And in the top of the 15th, it seemed like it might happen. Alas and alack, the National League blew it yet again. Next year...
And the Emmy nominations. I went more in depth on this before, but my basic breakdown is this. Boo for snubbing Friday Night Lights AGAIN. And c'mon, how can Pushing Daisies not get a nod for best comedy? I'm happy that 30 Rock and The Office were. I want 30 Rock to win that. Also happy that Steve Carell, Tina Fey, and Alec Baldwin got nods. And yay!! to Lee Pace and Kristin Chenoweth for both getting nods.
What about MY exciting life, you say? Well, I've finally finished all my summer reading for English. However, I still have 2 chapters left to read for history
That should effectively remove any traces of life I have left.
My friends and I got together to do this silly thing called Pika Pika. It's kind of ridiculous, but it was fun to do (let's hope this link works): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AzgQtkKex0&feature=related
I've also seen quite a few movies. Kung Fu Panda...I didn't really like. Wall-E was cute. Journey to the Center of the Earth was very cool (but you have to see it in 3-D). I want to see Mamma Mia too. Also, my mom and I saw a local production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. I was happily suprised. It was a very good show.
So that's it. Let's hope this works. *Cross fingers*
Ok! Once again, still alive. Though I haven't been on since...March? Wow. I'm sorry for all the blogs I've missed....I was crazy busy with finals week, and as soon as school ended, I was in Hawaii for a week. So I have a...kind of excuse. Hopefully I'll actually be able to spend some more time here now that things are calming down.
So my lovely little trip to Hawaii was the good news of the summer. Totally relaxing, very fun, and for the first time all year, I got a geniune tan. Amazing. And just a word of warning. Don't hike Diamond Head in flip flops. Trust me on that one.
Bad news of the summer? School. Ironic, isn't it? School's out, yet it still finds a way to torture me. I had four summer reading books, but I finished one and I'm almost done with another. Go me! The books are, Huckleberry Finn, 1984, A Brave New World, and Cat's Cradle. I finished Huck Finn and I'm almost done with Cat's. I would be farther along, but I decided to watch the movies on the plane. 27 Dresses? Not that great. Penelope was ok...but not enough plot there. But whatever. It was a nice distraction from what I should have been doing.
And even more bad news! In my bone-headed decision to take AP U.S. History next year, I have three super special chapters to read and take notes on. Jealous? Yes, I know. Not everyone is as privileged as I am.
Since I totally missed discussing every finale, I'll just say, The Office was awesome, and yay for Cook winning Idol. Wow....I'm really behind...that's Ok. I'm watching Top Chef and The Next Food Network Star. Food filled summer programs. I gave up on Hell's Kitchen after I realized all the contestants kinda really stunk.
Other than all of that....that's basically my summer! Although quite a few of my friends seem to have birthdays during the summer, so at least I'll have other things to do.
Like I said, let's hope I have some more time to spend here. I'm off to attempt to catch up on blogs.
