The Lost Boys
A wonderfully entertaining horror/black comedy. The cast is perfect, the soundtrack is a cult classic, and the film mixes laughs and shocks seamlessley. The film's closing scene is one of my favourite movie moments of all time

Frontier(s)
A cross between 'TCM' and 'Hostel', with a large dollop of Neo-Nazi Nutcase crazyness added for good measure. Definately not as good as other modern french horror's like 'Switchblade Romance', but still an entertaining hour and a half with a...

After thoroughly enjoying `Road Trip` (although it's starting to show it's age now), and finding the highly underrated `Euro Trip`, pretty damn hilarious, I expected good things from `Sex Drive`. .......boy was I disappointed. This film was almost...

Star Trek
JJ Abrams once again strikes gold with a thoroughly entertaining movie. The action is well paced, the humour is good without being overpowering, there are several emotional moments, and the new cast do an excellent job of settling in to their...

Zodiac
Interesting characters, interesting story, good cast, and good performances, but it would've been better if it had been 30 minutes shorter

Tarzan
Lacking in that patented "Disney magic", but still pretty entertaining thanks to a solid mix of action, humour, romance, comedy, good animation, the odd emotional tear jerking moment or two, and some decent songs

Still not as good as the first 3 films, but a definate improvement over `Saw IV`

Friday the 13th
This is a 'Friday the 13th' film, it's not Shakespeare, it never will be, what these films should be actually based on are the following: How chilling the film's atmosphere is, the body count, the inventiveness of the deaths, the blood & gore,...

Saw II
Less cerebral than the first film, but with a better pace, more victims/death puzzles, and a better glimpse into Jigsaw's mind.

A solid sequel.

Superhero Movie
Although this still falls quite short of "Scary Movie" and "Not Another Teen Movie", this film is a considerable improvement over the shockingly bad other titles in the "....Movie" series. There are still plenty of...

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
Although I'm starting to appreciate stoner film characters in a slightly less 2 dimensional way these days, I still find it hard to enjoy stoner humour. Unfortunately, this film is full of that humour. Luckily though, there are several elements...

Pineapple Express
Despite it being another comedy about stoners, I actually found this film quite enjoyable.

The level of swearing can sometimes be a bit shocking, but you soon to get used it, and just end up enjoying what is very much a "fish...

Stay Alive
The movie finale is half decent, and the death scenes (despite obviously being heavily cut at times) were fairly entertaining, but overall, this film's failings are clear to see thanks to poor direction, woefull acting, and a story that couldn't...

Evan Almighty
About as enjoyable as the first film.

The tone was a bit more family friendly, some of the supporting characters started to grate after a while, and the second half pushed the religious aspects a lot heavier than how the events of...

The X-Files: I Want to Believe
Definately not as epic an adventure as the first movie (in truth it felt more like just an extended series episode), but it was still an entertaining watch, and definately not as awful as a lot of critics have said.

The chemistry...

Sahara
Although the idea of a film starring Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz, didn't exactly convince me that it would be worth watching, I have to admit that I actually quite enjoyed what I saw :).

There are no amazing performances,...

The Incredible Hulk
I defintely wouldn't say this was better than the first film. Yes it was more action packed, but unfortunately, the action sequences felt a bit bland, which for a comic book movie, is not a good thing. The finale was alright, but it still falls...

I Am Legend
The character study portion of the film is fairly well done, with a decent acting effort put in by Will Smith, but unfortunately it sometimes gets a little too bogged down, and causes the film to drag a bit.

The actions sequences...

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
I really wasn't sure what to expect from this film. One part of me thought it looked like a fairly funny comedy, another part thought it was going to be a film focusing more on bad taste jokes than general laughs, another part thought "Oh no,...

Speed Racer
After seeing the trailer and reading the reviews for this film, I had pretty much ruled it out as a film that I'd never want to watch. On a chance (or more precisely, a plane flying back from Los Angeles), I decided to give it a go.

Battle Royale II
"Battle Royale 2" was always going to struggle to be better than it's predecessor. It would've been almost impossible to make the film anymore than either a carbon copy of the first film, or a generic action film. Thus was the fate of...

It may lack depth, and be full of bland stereotypical characters, but this is still a surprisingly entertaining horror movie.

It truly is amazing just how much better this is than the live action film.

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
I actually consider this the best of the series.

There's plenty wrong with it, namely victims that you don't care for, a wafer thin plot, and an incredibly embarssing appearance by a pre-fame Jack Black, but it's so much better...

Jack Frost
Full of bad acting, dodgy effects, cheap sets, and woefull dialogue, and an incredibly daft premise for a villain, this is a Horror Comedy that is hilarious for all the wrong reasons.
