This film was almost 2 hours of continuous unfunny jokes, I even found the last STDVD `American Pie` film funnier than `Sex Drive`. The only real curio of this film is the fact that the guy that seems to attract all the girls, and has a very active sex life, is an overweight guy who wears glasses. JJ Abrams once again strikes gold with a thoroughly entertaining movie. The action is well paced, the humour is good without being overpowering, there are several emotional moments, and the new cast do an excellent job of settling in to their newly acquired roles (especially the relatively newcomer Chris Pine as Captain Kirk). Also, depsite the comments of some naysayer film critics, this film does very much feel like a part of the Star Trek universe, not just because of the characters involved, and the locations, but the general atmosphere that Abrams has managed to create. I'm very much looking forward to the next film in the series :)

This is a 'Friday the 13th' film, it's not Shakespeare, it never will be, what these films should be actually based on are the following: How chilling the film's atmosphere is, the body count, the inventiveness of the deaths, the blood & gore, the levels of sex & nudity.

The atmosphere: Well, I always found the first 4 'Fridays' worked the best because they have such a gritty look to them, and almost make it feel like those camp sites are real, unfortunately from about part 6 onwards, things became glossy, and the eerieness went, unfortunately digital film making has once again brought back the gloss, and warmer glow to the surroundings, leaving the atmosphere fairly un-chilling. The bodycount: A very commendable, 13 victims. Inventive deaths: Each 'Friday' always has one stand out original idea for a death, everything from part 1's arrow through the throat, up to part 10's liquid nitrogen face smash, this alas doesn't, all killings are caused by standard slasher weapons (machete, axe, arrow, drill head/nail), and they are all either impalements, decapitations, or slices, the opening prologue almost had what could've been an outstanding death sequence, but alas, the victim ended up dying by what ended up being a self inflicted death . Blood & gore: Several deaths actually seemed to cut away just as things were about to get nasty, which was a shame , but there is still occasionally a nice gory money shot, particularly a sequence where an arrow pierces through a forehead. Sex and Nudity: A fair bit of it actually. Three of the female characters go topless, and most of them have nice (but clearly fake) figures .

And one final positive comment. One or two of the death sequences are well played out, and haven't been portrayed in previous instalments in the same way as they are in this film. One (which actually only causes non fatal damage to another character), sees Jason ramming a machete through a wooden floorboard that another victim is standing on, and eventualy laying on. Another one uses a similar "machete through a surface" idea, and also worked very effectively. These sequences added a surprise bit of originality to the film.

So overall. not the best 'Friday', but definately not the worst

Less cerebral than the first film, but with a better pace, more victims/death puzzles, and a better glimpse into Jigsaw's mind.

Although this still falls quite short of "Scary Movie" and "Not Another Teen Movie", this film is a considerable improvement over the shockingly bad other titles in the "....Movie" series. There are still plenty of moments that aren't exactly hilarious, especially the now seemingly tedious black humour shtick which seems to be laced throughout almost every one of the films in this spoof series since "Scary Movie", but overall, there are still several gags that work well. This is partially because of several solid supporting roles and cameos from at least some recognisable films stars.

I felt that the film also worked better than previous titles because it actually focuses on just one film genre, and actually makes a half decent attempt at sending it up.

Overall, another disappointing 21st century spoof, but with enough well played gags to at least give hope that not all is lost for this comedy sub genre.

Although I'm starting to appreciate stoner film characters in a slightly less 2 dimensional way these days, I still find it hard to enjoy stoner humour. Unfortunately, this film is full of that humour. Luckily though, there are several elements that I still found likeable about this film.

Although the film relies heavily on racial humour, much like "South Park", it is aimed at so many different minorities, and put to such extremes, that I actually found myself laughing out loud at the overtop characters and situations that happen in the film, and some of the totally random situations that the lead characters find themselves in. John Cho was particularly hilarious in those moments

About as enjoyable as the first film.

The tone was a bit more family friendly, some of the supporting characters started to grate after a while, and the second half pushed the religious aspects a lot heavier than how the events of "Bruce Almighty" were handled, but there was still a reasonable amount to enjoy.

The first half of the film, despite being overly clean cut in places, and borrowing various plot elements from "The Santa Clause", was quite enjoyable, and Steve Carell obviously showed he can handle slapstick style comedy with ease.

In truth, the only thing that stopped me giving this a higher rating was that the more comedic tone of the movie almost comes to a total standstill in the second half of the film, with next to no moments that anybody over the age of 10 would probably find funny.

Overall, a likeable story, but a disappoinitng comedy.

Definately not as epic an adventure as the first movie (in truth it felt more like just an extended series episode), but it was still an entertaining watch, and definately not as awful as a lot of critics have said.

The chemistry between David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson is still great to watch, and the movie's plot is also quite original, as far `X-Files` stories go.

With a little more gloss, I think the suggested idea of a new `X-Files` movie every few years could definately work well.

Although the idea of a film starring Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz, didn't exactly convince me that it would be worth watching, I have to admit that I actually quite enjoyed what I saw :).

There are no amazing performances, and the film takes a while to warm up, but once it gets a good ryhthm to it, it becomes a fairly enjoyable action adventure, with a somewhat original idea of selling the story with a heavily environmental message.

Overall, a fairly enjoyable effort for fans of action/adventure films.

Yes it was more action packed, but unfortunately, the action sequences felt a bit bland, which for a comic book movie, is not a good thing. The finale was alright, but it still falls short of a lot of previous superhero/supervillain face-offs.

The acting performances were also fairly unimpressive. Edward Norton did nothing special with his portrayal of Bruce Banner, and Liv Tyler & Peter Fonda were also pretty forgettable. Tim Roth slowly evolving into "The Abomination" was quite interesting to watch, and is pretty much the highlight of the film, imo.

On the plus side, seeing Lou Ferrigno make an appearance was nice, and I liked the cross-over moment at the end of the film aswell .

Overall, a fairly unremarkable superhero movie, but with just about enough going on to not make it completely forgettable

I really wasn't sure what to expect from this film. One part of me thought it looked like a fairly funny comedy, another part thought it was going to be a film focusing more on bad taste jokes than general laughs, another part thought "Oh no, `The Heartbreak Kid` Deja vu!", and the other part thought "Russell Brand, Ick!".

Weirdly enough, none of the above turned out to be true.

Yes the film had humour, but it was more focused on light hearted humour, than anything that would make you break into big guffaws. Although some moments were quite crude, those moments never felt overly offensive, and actually ended up feeling like a 21st century update on more farcial comedy. It definately wasn't another `The Heartbreak Kid`, sure a guy goes to a desert island, while still dealing with his last relationship, only to get all gooey-eyed over another girl, but that's where the similarites end, this film is definately a lot more bearable than that one. Finally, Russell Brand......who actually turned out to be surprisingly likeable, and quite a fun character to watch. In truth, all the characters in this film were likeable, even the ones that you don't think are supposed to be likeable, and the ending is definately not bittersweet.

So to sum up......this film wont leave you with aching ribs from laughing so much, but it will leave you with a feeling of contempt, and the odd moment that may leave you chortling.

After seeing the trailer and reading the reviews for this film, I had pretty much ruled it out as a film that I'd never want to watch. On a chance (or more precisely, a plane flying back from Los Angeles), I decided to give it a go.

.....and what a good decision that was :).

Sure the dialogue can get a bit bogged down at times, and Sprite and Chim Chim are a bit annoying (but it is partially aimed at kids though), but I generally find it hard to find fault with anything else . Sure a lot of the cars and sets in the film don't actually exist, but the film wouldn't have been half as good without them (unlike all the unneccessary use of CGI in a lot of modern action films), I honestly don't think I've been this impressed by a film's overall use of computer graphics since The Matrix.

The racing sequences are a joy to watch, there are plenty of enjoyable character performances, and as far as representing a cartoon as something live action, this film really hits the spot. Overall, the film wasn't perfect, but it was still a heck load of fun

There's plenty of realistic gory scenes, there is a real sense of panic throughout, the ending is surprisingly downbeat, while also having a bit of black comedy about it, and the events shown are actually based on a real life disease (which is actually more devastsing in real life than what is depicted in the film).

A solid directing debut by Eli Roth.

It truly is amazing just how much better this is than the live action film.

Gone is the dull exposition, and the heavy dose of major overreacting by Jennifer Love Hewitt, leaving you with a forgettable, but much more watchable slasher flick.
