Apocalypto, directed by Mel Gibson. Mel Gibson maybe a little “off� right now, but with Apocalypto he proves that he can still make a great film. Mel Gibson is know for his action movies such as Lethal Weapon, Brave Heart, and the Patriot. Never did I suspect such a different movie of what he has done and what he is use to. This just shows that he has talent that he can direct and act in different genres of film. I saw a little bit of the same violent techniques in A Passion of the Christ, which he directed, and its still hard at times to watch. Apocalypto is a story of the a Mayan village that is ruined by hunters of the Maya empire. They were sent to capture natives for a sacrifice to the gods to stop the Plague. As the movie went on the more I grew attached with the characters, I felt for them. I enjoy a movie that makes me involved like Apocalypto. There was times when a Mayan hunter would get torn apart and I would just get into a mode that want to be there and just help kill the guy, I know that doesn’t sound to good, but if you have seen it you understand and if you haven’t, you will.

Another aspect of Apocalypto was that it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, if one part something was going well another thing bad would be going on and once the bad thing is settled something else happened. It kept my interest. The movie had a few things unanswered that could have been , and I wasn’t to thrilled with the ending, I would tell you why but I don’t want the movie to be ruined for you, you will have to just see for yourself.
