I'm not sure how many of you are aware myself along with several other coworkers were laid off today from gamespot.
Yup, today was my last OTS, my last day as a gamespot employee, and apparently the first in what I'm sure will become a long string of sleepless nights (which is great since I have a 10 hour drive infront of me).
While I've only been her for 8 months, they've been 8 amazing months. GameSpot fans, without you there would be no gamespot. I appreciate your support and enthusiasm. GameSpot ex-employes, you guys made it fun to come to work and helped turn work-into-not-work. CBS suits - I've got some choice words for you but I'll behave myself one final time.
It's nearly time for my alarm clock to go off and that means hopping in the car for a stupidly long drive back to Oregon. Forget living in San Francisco without a job. If you guys want to stay in touch you can find me on twitter and myspace. (twitter = Batgirl)

Couldn't they wait and do this after the new year, I mean the timing is the most annoying part of this news.

That sucks.........but I'm sure that you will succeed in whatever you try next. With a lot better pay. I hope you go on to bigger and better things. I'll miss you a lot, because you give a shine to OTS no one else can. You make OTS, OTS. Wish you the best of luck.

Wow Kristin that really sucks, CBS has always been a bunch of tools and no one ever seems to like working for them (radio stations, tv networks and now apparently gamespot employees).

That really sucks Kristin, I'm sorry. I was laid off myself in august so I feel your pain, this economy is crushing everybody right now. I'll miss you, hopefully see you on twitter or myspace.

I have a few choice words for the suits as well but getting banned for standing up and being counted dosen't get anyone very far . I'm not gonna bother to ask the why's and wherefore of things. I'm guessing its money and friends of friends at CBS . Either way i'm fed up with trying to say Gamespot is kewl. It fell down the crapper when CBS took over .
