GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

Most of you know that I've been on the competitive scene for quite awhile. I've always been a big supporter of the MLG (Major League Gaming) circuit and have attended several tour stops.

Last weekend I was in Dallas for MLG Dallas, the final tour stop before the championship finals in Las Vegas in November. Hopefully a lot of you were watching the live streaming video (if not you can find replays of the matches on their Video On Demand service) and you noticed that there was a GameSpot logo in attendance.

GameSpot was able to sponsor Triggers Down for MLG Dallas and the team did NOT disappoint! Triggers Down was knocked into the losers bracket on day 3 and fought their way to the final match on the main stage Sunday night. After playing Halo3 for nearly 4 hours straight (with a bathroom break for Hysteria in the middle of the matches) Triggers Down took the series to 11 games and ended up winning over Str8 Rippin.

For anyone that's unfamiliar with how the championship game is played - the team that takes the best of 5 wins the series. If the winning team gets 3 games in the first series, that's it, it's over. BUT if the losing team comes in and take the first series, there's a second series to be played (because they lost earlier). Again, it's first to 5.

This is the second tour stop that Triggers Down has won this season (the first tour stop they won was Orlando). The next and final tour stop is in Vegas in November. Good luck to SK, Karma, FearItSelf, and Hysteria who compose the team Triggers Down!

Halo is the only game I even remotely know the competitive seen for. Mainly because T2, Lunchbox, and all the rest are often mentioned around the board.
Good luck everyone .

Competative gaming makes me nervy. I used to play for Irelands Battlefield Vietnam team as the team Huey pilot and that was class. But once i played CS in an actual LAN event and I folded under pressure so bad - Its not the easyiest way to earn a living im sure!

Hysteria is a monster, but its still kinda sad to see FB not at 1# like the good old days but things change I guess. Anyway its good to see Karma back on a top team...well I mean Carbon was doing alright I guess but you know what I mean, not like they should have compared to their H2 performances. Glad to see GameSpot getting involved with MLG

Well done Triggers Down, and well done Gamespot for backing the winner Kristen you know what I think, I think you should put your Halo skills against our community here on Gamespot. I know you have powned everyone at your offices but what about the community. I just reckon it would be cool for community relations if the opportunity ever arose.

Lol, it'd be fun except for the fact that I have a super crummy connection at home. I hate laggers and I hate it even more when I'm the lagger. I'm sure that there are a lot of GS community members that have become a lot better than me, I've been neglecting my halo and haven't been practicing like I used too. In fact it's probably been a month or so since I've played H3.

Kristin I haven't been playing Halo 3 either but I stopped when the Orange Box came out. Also everyone I versed kept vetoing my favorite gametype which was Territories. But the main reason would be my brother moved out and took the 360 since he bought it.

Well Kristen....sounds like I have a challenge for you. Last time we had a Halo CGN I was whooping and took home the emblem. IF we have one again, I challenge you to a match
