Uncharted 2: Among Thieves review is posted. I tried keeping it to one paragraph but quickly realized how futile that was as there was so much to say about the game. So it's a little longer than my previous reviews, but hang in there and I'm sure you'll like it.

Next up is an issue that has been irritating me the more I hear about it in the news. Let me just warn anyone that is politically correct to STOP READING RIGHT NOW. I won't mind. What I won't do is apologize for how I feel about what has been going on in current events recently. So again, if you're one of these PC types or you're easily offended leave now. No hard feelings. If you stay you've been warned.

I'm sure everyone has heard about the terrorist act commited at Ft. Hood by one Nidal Malik Hassan. I won't bother to list his rank since he is undeserved of such a mark and is unworthy to carry such responsibility as that rank imbues. Now what really pisses me off is how the public perception of this terrorist act is being portrayed by certain news agencies, and how some people are trying to come to the defense of this low-life scumbag who, in a most cowardly act, murdered thirteen unarmed soldiers as he shouted "Allahu akbar!" before opening fire.

The very fact that some agencies are consciously tip toeing around such a blatant act of terrorism and actually trying to justify and make up every excuse under the sun to try and pitifully hide what this act really was is an insult to the American people as well as the soldiers that are currently serving or have served, not to mention the thousands of servicemen and women who have already sacrificed their life. The President needs to grow a pair and call this for what it is. Anything less is a sign of weakness and is exactly the wishy washy reaction that these despicable cowards thrive on.

Now one of the reasons given as to why no one but rationally minded people call this as what it is is because it would somehow be an admission that America has been targeted with another terrorist attack -- the worst since September 11th -- under Obama's administration. And you know what? That's exactly right.

I've been listening to a popular talk radio station out here in Denver and the entire consensus between every host has been the same: This was a terrorist act. There is no argument to be had against it, yet many callers and bleeding hearts and PC types call in and try to argue to the contrary.

The simple fact is there is a covert war going on outside of Afghanistan and Iraq. And it's right here in America as radical Muslims are using the convenient veil of political correctness to hide behind while they scheme and plot behind our collective backs. The sooner Americans wake up and smell what the hell is going and stop trying to coddle these fanatics and their Jihadist beliefs the better off we'll be. Stop trying to make excuses. These people are not the victims and anyone that thinks they are is being played a fool.

The victims are the thirteen American soldiers that were killed. The victims are the some 3000 American civilians killed on the morning of September 11th. The victims are the American soldiers that are serving and risking their life every day in a failed war against idealist belief of fanatical extremists. You can't win a war of ideals; it's impossible.

Wake up, America! It's time to call a spade a spade and not be worried of who you might offend because this is exactly what makes us so weak.

MW2 Prestige Ed. (with pics!)

Yeah, so I ended up going to the midnight launch and got the prestige edition. Haven't played it yet. I'm probably the ONLY person alive who can claim such a feat I took these pics just now. I wanted to show everyone what it looked like in its virgin state.

Oh yeah, if anyone can tell me what is significant about today's date you get a half-eaten cookie. I'll give you one clue: It's a birthday.

Edward Zwick's "Glory" is a cinematic testament to the heroism, bravery and courage of one of the first, and perhaps, most famous all-Black regiments during the American Civil War: The 54th Massachusettes Infantry. Matthew Broderick leads an all-star cast through this epic period of time. Playing as Col. Robert Gould Shaw, Broderick finds himself thrust in to performing a duty that he initially has enormous apprehensions about. But over the course of the movie through narrations sourced from the actual letters and diary of the real-life Col. Shaw, Broderick comes to an epiphany of sorts about the opportunity he has been granted, and the extreme privilege that has been bestowed upon him in leading one of the first all-Black regiments in history. Cary Elwes plays Maj. Forbes who is Col. Shaw's second-in-command, and later on in the movie (as we come to find out), becomes Col. Shaw's voice of reason.

Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington each deliver outstanding performances as former slaves that become newly enlisted, and must quickly adapt to life in a (until then) all White army. They learn that even though they are fighting on the same side as other White regiments they don't always see eye to eye off the battlefield, as the other White soldiers tend to resent them. Andre Braugher plays an up and coming Boston socialite and childhood friend of Col. Shaw, as well as becoming the regiment's first volunteer.

The movie chronicles the real life hurdles that the soldiers from the 54th had to face both on and off the battlefield. Issues such as racism, acceptance, perseverence, duty, honor, comaradarie and more are all addressed in "Glory." For many who don't know much about the Civil War, the very idea of enlisting Black soldiers was just as controversial in many people's minds as the war itself. Many Northern free-thinkers who opposed slavery also opposed the raising of Black troops. But "Glory" does an excellent job of showcasing the many obstacles that these brave Black soldiers were forced to endure from their White counter-parts who wore the same uniform. One of Edward Zwick's best, "Glory" is a shining example of a modern film classic. It brings to the forefront an oft neglected aspect of one of the most crucial wars in American history; and I daresay it is one of the best war movies that has ever come out of Hollywood before or since.

With Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto," the savage and barbaric customs of a civilization long vanished are brought most graphically to life. Taking place during the decline of the Mayan civilization, we are introduced to Jaguar Paw who seems perfectly content to live out the rest of his days hunting in the jungle and raising his new family. But this idyllic existence is shattered when a marauding group of natives attack his village; killing, raping and pillaging its inhabitants. What comes next for Jaguar Paw is enslavement of a sort as he, and the remaining villagers that were also captured, are forcibly marched back to a great Mayan city only to realize that they will be used as sacrifices to appease the sun god. Jaguar Paw vows to return to his family who, before he was captured, he lowered into a hole in the ground to spare them. But now they are stuck with no way out, and only Jaguar Paw knows they are there and can get to them. This is his main motivation for the entire movie.

"Apocalypto" is thrilling, action-packed and, at times, highly invigorating; frought with intense and painfully realistic displays of brutality. However, the violence never seems gratuitous since it is merely showcasing the way of life back then. By today's standards we would label such atrocities as "crimes against humanity," but back then it was just the way of life. It's an interesting dichotomy when compared to today's society, and tends to be (whether intentional or not on behalf of the director) a real eye opener that should make you happy and thankful to live during the time period you do. "Apocalypto" also carries an underlying theme of over-indulgence and arrogance. The very opening scene is in fact a quote warning that corruption starts from within; an eeriely forecast of what's to come. The theme of the movie is consistently dark, and it never fails in its unrelenting sense of danger that literally surrounds the characters. The jungle itself is cruel and unforgiving at times if you lower your guard for just an instant. The entire cast does a superb job of acting their parts. The movie is subtitled so those that don't like to read need not apply. However, this is one journey through the jungle that you should take.
