something surround her, slowly turning her hand she saw an evil grin in the darkness. Wings unleashed from the demon, smashing the cage as it lifted her into the air. Blackness surrounded her as her eyes closed. This can’t be real… it’s only a dream.
Her body went limp. Oh no dear… it’s only the beginning.
Once again she found herself awakening in an unknown place. Her body was wet. As her vision cleared she realized she was outside on the grass. Struggling to her feet she looked around her. A building was off in the distance, and a forest was to her back. Confused she took a few steps towards the building before she heard the dogs. Dogs? So many… Touching her lip and reliving the pain of earlier she turned and moved to the woods. I have to get out of here… she thought as she blindly ran through the woods. The dogs appeared to be chasing her as they moved closer. Sweat began to pour down her body as her
breathing became course. I haven’t eaten in days… what the hell is
going on? Oh god… I’m going to die here… Tears merged with her sweat as her running slowed. Leaning against a tree to catch her breath she tried to think of a plan, but her mind was too muddled to come up with anything, even her name. All she knew was fear, fear of the dogs, fear of the building, fear of anyone finding her –
“So there you are little missy…” She looked around her, sobbing. “No need to cry… we will take care of you, we are the good guys…” Turning to one side she saw a man emerge from the bushes, a dog following him. Glancing at his side she saw a gun. Not good… definitely not
good…
“No… no… leave me alone…” She stammered as she backed up. The man slowly advanced on her as she stumbled backwards. Hitting a tree her hopes dashed. “No… please…” She muttered in between sobs. “No!” she screamed when he came closer. He paused for a moment, a dash of fear in his eyes.
“No need to get angry now… heh…” He reached out to her. No, no, no, no, no…. I don’t want this! I want to be free… free of this place… I don’t belong here! She crouched low, adrenaline coursing through her body.
You want to be free?
Yes…
Whatever makes you happy, whatever you want…
I don’t want to be here…
The man began to back up, fear surrounding his body. She looked at him, momentarily confused. The demon was back, a black aura surrounding her body as it encroached on the man. Its claws ripped through his body, the dog ran off. Blood fell to the ground, feeding the plants below. Her eyes widened in terror as the man was ripped apart. She was safe at last, but something terrible was here. Looking at
her body she saw black designs all over it, almost glowing with intensity. The demon returned to her, a black entity with glowing eyes and a toothy grin. Her eyes widened.
“Are you… mine?”
I’m not yours, I am you…
She touched her head and looked back at the demon. “You are
the one who has been talking to me… I thought I was crazy… or maybe I am… what is happening to me?”
You were taken by people. Now you are free.
Tears returned to her eyes as she stood up. “Where am I?”
That I do not know.
“How do I get out of here?”
That I do not know.
“You are bloody well useless then.” She brushed the tears out of her eyes. “I’m just going to walk then… find my way home” Wherever home may be…
I would not suggest that, there are more dogs. Wings set you
free.
“I don’t have wings!”
I do…
Suddenly she felt weak.
Whatever you want, whatever you desire…
I want… I want to be free…
Blackness surrounded her once again.
