As we all know, every gaming console has it's own dusk and dawn moments. Between these moments is the period when the gaming platform may prosper or may not, depending on it's popularity and games released for this console. It's not a secret that the dawn of PS2 is not far away, since the next generation consoles, such as X360 and PS3 are currently leading in gaming industry (I'm not talking about PC), although it was and still is a popular gaming platform, games are still released and there are many gamers (including me), who still tend to play PS2 games. Therefore, I would like to hear your predictions on how much longer will the games be released for PS2 and when will it's dusk come.

THE END?

Well I don't know when I'll end but to be honest I hope it end really soon, mainly because the Wii get robbed of games that it otherwise would get(in some cases)from developers working on the least expensive console(example why they keep release King of Fighters game PS2 when they can put it on the Wii if not the other 2 consoles), another thing is since the Wii ain't too powerful some of the developer like to slide their PS2 port onto the Wii, anyway the PS2 is a great system with lots of game but time to say peace.

Well if you noticed, the games which now are released for PS2 too, are mostly athletic games, party games and generally not the best-selling games (with some exceptions).
Still though, PS2 is very successfull and I think games will be released for it even during the upcoming summer. But who knows?

Well, the thing is the PS2 is still going partly because of the lack of backwards compatibility on the PS3... So anyone who wants to play the old games can't do so on the PS3. But IDK how much longer PS2 games are gonna be coming out.

I think the end for PS2 is somewhere on summer of this year, after that no game for it won't be released. But we can't forget that the PS2 is till now the most sold consoles, it sold 140 milions units so no suprise it's so popular. The first Xbox and GameCube sold less then 50 milions units together.

PS2 is still selling very well in the US and some recent NPD survey shows it outselling PS3 in some months as well. But then it also depends upon how much sales are being generated on PS2? Persona 4 undoubtedly the biggest PS2 exclusive last year could hardly sell few thousands of copies although it might be because it came late. In such cases, developers lose out a little financially.

PS2 has certainly lasted for more than anyone expected it to and that shows what a great console it indeed is. But I certainly do think PS2 can't last longer than a year at most.
