Well I thought this year was going good (and it was for about 9 days) until my PC at home I think is dying.... As soon as I boot it up it reads "DISK BOOT FAILURE PLEASE INSERT BOOT DISK" ahh crud I think it means my Windows XP disc but I don't think I even have one? Any PC tech guys out there know anything bout this? I was also warned my HDD and/or my Motherboard are almost giving up. I can't afford to buy another PC so I give up..

Technology wins that one

Now that my Wii warranty is finally up with Nintendo I was thinking about purchasing one of these -:

Cool huh? What do ya think? You can find a whole lot of different one's here.

Nothing else really new with me, well it's my 22nd birthday next Wed but I'll blog about that later

Ah mate feeling your pain my PC is on it's backside it now takes a full 5 minutes to properly boot up ... it crawls along at a snails pace and I to have no money what so ever to throw at it!! The Wii looks nice mate but I prefer the clean, crisp whiteness of it all ... it's pure like the undriven snow

Ooohhh Birthday boy soon whatcha gettin?

"Undriven snow" nice metaphor!

^^^ Dunno a new PC? Technology is so soul destroying especially when you don't have much knowledge on it. Violence doesn't work either heh heh. I did get asked what I wanted but I replied with the standard "grumph"

I managed to get one of those cool units for my Wii for xmas mate... makes my Wii not look so small compared to my 360 now

Tech is guff mate I'm having so much trouble with my wireless USB thingy for my PC sometimes I get a connection most of the time I don't even harsh lanuage isn't working!!

Mate trust me never reply with "grumph" - I did for Christmas and instead of getting Mass Effect and Assasin's Creed I ended up with the Simpsons game and SD vs RAW ... bad times!

depending on when you got the computer... a lot of the ones within the last couple of years don't come with an operating system disc, you're supposed to create your own when you first get the computer on cds or dvds.

Sorry to hear about yer 'puter wanting to die...it could be a host of things though technology won the battle you can still win yeah you are supposed to back youtr puter into a "rescue/boot disc" for such emergencies as this but they way it sounds it is on its way out...could just be a memory card/Hard Drive issue but i am not that savvy to really know
Well enjoy the Wii as i am sure at least that won't break down

Thanks for the input anyway Spooks, I suppose it's just old...well only about 2 years or so not that bad but bleeding MS suckin me dry of cash as if shelling out on X360 games every other day wasn't enough for old Bill?

Nightmare about the PC. It does mean the XP disc. You might be able to repair it from that CD. You got anything exciting planned for you birthday?
Posted Jan 11, 2008 7:32 am PT
Ahh cheers BBS I'll give it a bash anyway, not a lot planned as of yet I'm getting treated tomorrow by a couple of mates but I'll prob leave the celebrations till the end of the month once everyone's paid again

A black Wii is pretty kick @ss... sorry to hear about yer PC acting up tho I've had my own fair share of problems with my PC, so I'm not too keen on suggesting anything constructive.

Sounds tricky. It's difficult when something goes wrong with my home computer as there is no IT department to call and bail me out. It doesn't help that my decrepit old machine is so old that I am still running Windows 98 and a Voodoo 3 card. I am not complaining as the old girl was absolutely free.

Cool! A black Wii. Anyway... Good luck with your PC issue.

I'm not sure about your PC, sorry. That Wii is pretty cool, and have a happy birthday when it comes.

They have a black Wii?
Posted Jan 11, 2008 2:18 pm PT
Maybe you could use whatever money you get for your brithday to get it repaired, makes sense.
Posted Jan 13, 2008 10:54 pm PT
^^^^ Yeah you can tell common sense is not my strong point cant you fishdalf?

Not exactly Luke it's a black casing for the Wii but assembly could be dodgy.

Do you have any PC-friendly friends? Even if they cannot fix it they could perhaps advise you on what cheap new parts you can buy once fixed to make it run that little bit better.
Posted Jan 15, 2008 4:17 am PT
Yeah I think some of them maybe able to help, thanks dalf.

Great! A black Wii! Good luck with your pc!

black wii looks...well darker, but then again all your gonna do is play games with coulurful background and butterflies and stuff but still i guess its more unique.

i know how you feel with the PC i think mine is gonna go anyday and i've rescued it (from near death) too many times to remember.
