Yes, I am new to these forums but I have been working on this theory for quite a while.So please don't flame me if I do not use the correct terms such as, cow,sheep whatever that is. I do not know.

 You will be getting this theory from my view. A person who has an Xbox and a PSP, and use to own a PS2.

You all know that the all of the Xbox ran out, in North America, Europe, and even Japan. But there is a reason why Microsoft decided to not make enough Xboxes. 3 possibillities.

1. A hype.

Microsoft will get people, the comon people (rich parents) to believe that the Xbox is just all that good, enough to run out.

2. Commercials

Microsoft did not make enough Xboxs, because It will be the same thing as Martha Stewart.

For those of you who don't know.

Martha went to jail, she was on the news almost every day until she got out. When she got out, her business became extremely popular, and she became a lot more famous. Reason why? The News on TV basically advertised for her, every single day.

Same thing with Xbox, Microsoft is just trying to make a big controversy so the News will mention (advertise) xbox.

3. PS3

Microsoft I believe wants to battle Sony. Of course the PS3 will be released by Spring 2006, now if the Xbox is to be released by November of this year and it is. Thats a 6 month gap. And by 6 months many people will be ready to buy the Xbox AND Ps3. <---- bad thing for MS right here

Microsoft I believe knows that there will be good games on PS3, like MGS4 so they will try to sell (restock) the Xbox 2-3 months before the Ps3. Thus if they sucessfully do that, the percentage of people buying an PS3 in America and Europe will greatly decrease. (not sure about Japan) And to back it up they have Halo 3 which comes out in Spring 2006.
