Disc 2:
Hulk Hogan vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage for the WWE Championship 4/18/89: This was a great match. Savage trying to escape everyone of Hogan moves and putting Miss Elizabeth in harms way. Savage was the champion at the time and he lost his championship to Hogan. One of the better matches on this set. ***1/2 out of 4.
Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior in a Title for Title Match 4/1/90: The ultimate match was taken place in Toronto at the Skydome. This was a great match. Lots of back and forth battle right here. In the end, the Warrior was able to become the grand champion at WM 6. **** out of 4.
Hulk Hogan vs. Sgt. Slaughter for the WWE Championship 3/24/91: At the time, Slaughter was the anti-American siding on the side of the Iraqi and being the sympathizer. It was battle for the Americana for Hogan to regain his championship at WM 7. This was fun match to watch with Hogan wearing the crimson mask and able to capture the title. After the pin, there was a sound glitch but it didn't really ruin the match though. *** out of 4.
Hulk Hogan vs. The Undertaker for the WWE Championship 12/3/91: Undertaker was only champion for 2 days when Hogan put up his rematch clause after his defeat at Survivor Series. This was pretty much the same battle they had at SS only this time Hogan pick up the win for his 3rd title reign. Good match but not like their encounter at SS. **1/2 out of 4.
Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair for the WCW Championship 7/17/94: This was the match people were dying to see since Flair enter WWE, but that never happen until this event at Bash at the Beach. This was a good match but not really the level these two normally put on. Nevertheless, there were interference by Sherri and Mr. T making an appearance. Hogan was able to capture the WCW World Title. ** out of 4.
A clip of the nWo formation from Bash at the Beach 7/7/96: Anyone that had live through the nWo formation knew the infamous Hogan heel turn, and the speech that set the course for the nWo in the coming years. The speech itself deserve a ****.
Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. The Giant aka Big Show for the WCW Championship 8/10/96: This event took place in South Dakota in an outside environment with tons of motorcyclist of WCW fans. This match was okay to me. Nash and Hall made an apperance to help Hollywood to become the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. *1/2 out of 4.
Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. Sting for the WCW Championship: Starrcade was the event, which was WCW version of WM. This match was 9 months in the making according to Bischoff. Sting was already in his black and white crow-like form. The decision was already at Hogan side until Bret came out and had the match restarted and he then became the referee. In end, Sting became WCW Champion and made WCW proud. The whole lockeroom was empty to see the celebration. **1/2 out of 4.
Disc 3:
Hulk Hogan vs. Curt Henning 11/04/01: This was a rare footage from the now defunct XWF. Hogan happen to be in Orlando for a photo shoot and this match came about because Henning challenge him. They had a little background info on this match, so that's how I know how it happen
. Well anyways, short match with Hogan usual winning tactics. *1/2 out of 4.
Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock 3/17/02: In the same venue at WM 6, Rock and Hogan brought out an awesome match at WM 18. One of the MOTY canidate in 02. The crowd was pretty much on the side of Hogan when he had his nWo comrade formation in the WWE. The Rock pick up the win in this one, with both men showing respect to each other. **** out of 4.
Hulk Hogan vs. Triple H for the Undisputed WWE Championship 4/21/02: It was the battle of the young lion vs. the old lion. Great match with an appearance from Chris Jericho and the Undertaker helping out whomever they wanted to capture the title. But both men refuse help and got their asses kicked. *** out of 4.
Hulk Hogan and Edge vs. Billy and Chuck for the WWE Tag Team Championship 7/4/02: This was a dream for Edge to team up with his idol. This match took place on Smackdown! and it was a great match. Edge with his style and Hogan style made this a must watch match. Edge and Hogan was able to become Tag Team Champions. ***1/2 out of 4.
Hulk Hogan vs. Mr. McMahon in a Street Fight 3/30/03: I thought this was a good match. We all know Mr. McMahon has limited moves but Hogan literally took McMahon to his limit. Weapons were obviously involved, with Hot Rod making an appearance and turning heel. But in the end, Hogan got the win and thus saving his own career. **1/2 out of 4.
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony 4/2/05: Nice little speech from Hogan and his thoughts on the state of the wrestling business, his buddies, Mr.McMahon, etc. Fun to watch. I'm not going to give this a rating because it's just priceless for any speech.
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels in a Legend vs. Icon Match 8/21/05: The rivalry and build to this match was great. I love it when Michael made a mockery of Hogan. I bet most of you remember that. We anyways, great match with blood on the face of Hogan. Hogan took the win on this one. At the end of the match, HBK extended his hands and he told Hogan he just wanted to know. So this match gets *** out of 4.
The 4th Disc I had was the "Hogan Knows Best" show. There are two episode with the third being a sneak preview to his 3rd season. I regret not getting the one at Walmart because it contain some bonus matches. But overall I'm happen with what I got from Best Buy.
I sure hope you guys enjoy my review and maybe it might convince you to pick it up. I really think you should own it regardless how you feel about the man now. He is the reason why the majority of us are watching wrestling as a kid to now. If your young right now, I still suggest you learn something from the generation that made wrestling what it is today.
My overall opinion is that this is a must have DVD, even though some of the other best matches he had, should've gone into the Anthology. I know he had some really good classic matches that should've made it in. So the overall ratings for this DVD is ***1/2 out of 4.
