At long last, after a year and a half of waiting, Okami is out. And it is mine.
It's absolutely amazing; not only are the graphics pure eye-candy, but the gameplay is smooth and fluid as well. Battles are a blast, the sound's great, even the gibberish voices are fun to listen to... although many would disagree with me there. But really, this is even better than I thought it would be, which is saying a LOT.
I believe I was the first person to pick up Okami at my local Gamestop today, as we got there five minutes after they had called us and said it was in. XD Talk about speedy. Anyway, I also got the pre-order goodie called a 'Buddha Board' - which I haven't tried out yet - and the strategy guide on top of that.
Their faces were priceless. "Didn't we just call you?!"
Pfft. When I want my Okami, I get my Okami /fast/.
I'm about five hours into the game now at Agata Forest. It's... just... wow. I had a tough time trying to pry myself away from my PS2, but sleep is required for optimum gaming performance tomorrow.
Goodnight and go snag a copy of Okami before I hunt you all down and shoot you!
Well, I got the Okami demo (a good while ago; I never made a new blog post!). It'd take me forever to describe how wonderful it is, but I'll just leave it at 'fantastic'.
Sadly, the release date has been pushed back to November now. I sure hope they don't do it again, or else I'll probably have to get an import copy. Which I can't do anyway. But whatever. I'll try to be patient.
All of the carpet in the house has been replaced, we put some new fabric on the couch, fixed up some other stuff and hopefully we're done with the whole 'house' thing for a while. Oh, and summer is here, blahblahblah, it's roasting hot and I swear I'm going to melt soon if we don't get some cool weather.
And hurricane season is upon us! Hurrah!
Hahaha. Exactly as the title says. We just ripped up the carpet near the back door and replaced it with a sort of reddish-orange tile, which looks pretty good, if I do say so myself. They also replaced the laundry room floor with the stuff. Okay, so that was the tile part of the title.
On to the fumes. Since they have to cut the tile to make it fit (duh), there are these lovely smells of freshly-cut flooring floating through the house in every single room. Trust me, it isn't a good smell. More like... sickening to the point of not being hungry even if you haven't eaten anything at all since you woke up. I woke up around six hours ago, so.... yeah. I managed to choke down some Triscuits (a sort of wheat cracker, rather good) with cheese melted on top. Actually tasted alright.
Now for the sprinklers. I live in Florida, and it's sort of a drought right now, and they also say it will be like this all through summer - the good thing that comes of it is less hurricanes. There are numerous sprinklers scattered throughout the yard at the moment, and it's very dry outside. The only question I have left is this.... DID WE EVEN HAVE WINTER THIS YEAR?!!?! The lowest temperature it got to was 27 I think, but that was in the middle of the night for about three days. It's been kinda hot out this week, yuck. I can't stand hot weather, I need cold air noooowwwww!
On a happier note, I'm finally going to get my hands on an Okami demo this Tuesday. That's right, two days from now. I've waited since April last year, so it'd better be good (although my friends on here say it's fantastic and beyond words, so I'm pretty excited). I may not sound like it, but I'm jumping out of my own skin with happiness and joy - I've waited so long, each month has crawled by at snail-speed, and finally.... FINALLY.... I can get to play Okami. Heeheehee, I know, I don't really have much of a life.
See ya later. I'm hoping to be able to pry myself away from the TV with an iron crowbar from playing Okami on Tuesday to write another blog entry, but don't count on it.
