Am i fanboy? I question myself..
Lets see, i own consoles from every maker, Nintendo, Sega, Atari, Microsoft, Sony you name it...
I also enjoy my PC nad im planing to get more games for it more often now that i bought a new one.
If you look at my sig:
You'll see what systems i use now, the 1st and most used PS3, PC next and PS2 last, you can see the portable systems and last the consoles i retired (i need to remind myself to put GBC and the GBA in the "no-longer-in-active-systems").
I've retired havent retired the PS2 cuz i havent finish Final Fantasy XII, hope soon, but fear never :_(
At the end of my sig you'll find some trashing on the wii and 360.
Why all that?
1st - Why i choose the PS3?
Cuz its was the most appeling to me.
It had a blu-ray player, and i was a supporter of it on day 1, my 1st DVD player was the PS2, i dont think i need to say more.
It had more future vision in its design, as soon as i heard that the 360 was coming without the hd-dvd player and the games would came in dvds9 i choose PS3.
It has support for multyusers, i have a brother, so how would why play on-line with only 1 account (thats what you get in the "way-better-than-psn-xbl") either one of us (me or my brother) wouldnt play on-line or we had to share the account. So the PS3 with the "crappy-psn-compared-to-xbl" was looking MUCH better.
It had more appeling games MGS, FF, GT, GOW, just to mention a few, i was very dissapointed with the original Xbox games Halo and KOTOR speacially, dont get me wrong, they are good games, but not as good as people like to say, especially halo, story good enough for 20 books? Is that a joke? I must say my favorite Xbox game was Fable and is the only reason i would consider buying a 360, but if Golden Eye Mario 64 and Zelda OoT were not enough for me to buy a N64 you do the math.
So in the end im set only with a PS3, the 360 has no exclusives that really apeal me, and the wii is definitely not my thing.
So this gen the only console siting in my living room is gonna be a PS3, so i'll stick with her and defender her, if that makes me a fanboy so be it.
I am a Fanboy, Sony got it so right with the PS and PS2 that i become their fanboy and got a PS3 ONLY.
PS. i'm dying to get MGS4...
Comments
"Personally, I like having the 3 current gen consoles rather than just the one. If you enjoy games, why should it matter what system they're on or the type of disk they're on, as long as iot works and you're having fun, that's what is most important."
I don't get all the 3 cuz, i dont have the money, i gave 650EUR for the PS3 (PS3+extra controller)
And to be ones, i really dont see a single game on the wii that i like, not one, it's not being a fanboy, its the true...
As for the 360, Gears of War reminds me Halo (i own Halo 2) its a really good game, but its not as great as they like it to say...
Besides its on the PC, when its the Epic the first to say "we onw much of the Gears sucess to Microsoft" in other words, "if this was on the PS3 it would get an 8 or 8.5 like Unreal".
I look at Uncharted and i see everything that Gears has (not counting online for obvious reasons and the story cuz its questionable and above all depends on the tast of the person).
When Sam Houser says the PS3 GTA4 version looks better, and the gamespot says its the 360..........................................................................
Anyway, all the games i like are on the PS3, to tell you the true Fable 2 is looking really good, i own the 1st for the Xbox and i loved it (graphic wise is kinda crappy but i never trust screen shots, real time in the console its what i belive) but i dont think its worth it, especially now that i got a new laptop for 900EUR buying the 360 in completly out of the question, i don't have the budget, and i dont really see anything on it.
And now, with the 2.40 firmware update whats on the 360 that the PS3 don't have? FOR FREE...
But when it comes right down to it, not all of us have the money to spend on every console out there, so at that point, it's really all about preference.
The stupidest thing a consumer could possibly do is to buy a system because of the company who made it.
A smart consumer does research on each system and chooses which is better suited for their playing habits, has a better selection of games they're interested in playing, and offers the most "bang for their buck."
I have a Playstation myself, and despite that I've been with Sony since day 1, the only reason I chose a PS3 over the 360 is because it seemed like a more hefty investment and it will most definitely last longer.

That was also my point of view.
And it has more exclusives titles of my tast like MGS4 for one, played it, love it.
The only thing i would like to have thats exclusive on 360 is fable 2, an that's going to be out on PC sooner or later.
The best 360 games allways end up on PC so it doesn't really get my eye.
