GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

I use this website as a resource for determining scores or feedback on games before buying them myself. I look at the opinions of professional reviewers, as well as my fellow gamers of the world. Yet all too often it seems that people who do not fit into these two categories feel the need to blabber out opinions that can only be called 'reviews' for the sake of this blog.

Some members will rate every game they come across with a 10, no matter how good it is or isn't. Anything from Dead Space quality games to something like Mary-Kate and Ashley: Girls Night Out, it really doesn't matter to them. Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, is a different breed of idiot who will vote every game that crosses their path with a 1.

Of course, everyone can have their opinion. If you really hated Dead Space, then by all means give it a low score. But do NOT try to sway the scores of games with countless 1's and 10's simply for the sake of swaying them. This throws off the balance and usefullness of this entire site. It really is annoying and you're only making yourself look like a moron.

Then, beyond the number score people, are the full on reviewers. There are way too many people on here who will hastily type out garbled paragraphs on games, and will make no sense in the process. They will not use any punctuation, they will spell words wrong, they will use more broken English than a bad 80's Japanese NES port, and they will more often than not express opinions that have little or nothing to do with the specific game at hand.

Here is a prime example: Continue »

I realize that members are able to rate these reviews with a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down, but this does not stop the garbage reviews from showing up on the game profile pages if they are the most recent reviews. This makes the person who comes here to use the site as a valuable resource is forced to sort through the reviews until they can find something actually worth reading. This daunting task is made even more annoying because of all the fanboys who will down vote or up vote any review that they do not agree with. The fan boys who get mad when someone says that Fallout 3has bad music, or World of Warcraft borrowed ideas from other games. Not everyone will think your favorite game is the 'uberest' game out there, and they're just as entitled to their opinion as anyone, assuming they can back it up with intelligent, readable feedback.

Please keep this in mind when reviewing your games in the future. And GameSpot, please think of maybe spending more time removing reviews that are nothing more than inappropriate dribble which do nothing at all to help your little website and less time sending me warnings for making good points. Thanks.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Kai0nTheMoon.
Kai0nTheMoon must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Kai0nTheMoon possibly have for not rating a single film?
