GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

So, recently something odd happened when I was playing Guitar Hero: World Tour. I began to notice white strangely shaped 'dots' and such on the screen all of the time - This happened after I launched the game, and then haunted me back onto the dashboard as well.

Not long after, my Xbox recieved one red light. E74 Error. Apparently, 90% of the time this error occurs, it has something to do with a chip called "ANA" or "HANA" placed near the AV connection input.

There are 'fixes' out there on the interwebs, but they're only suggested for people with no warrenty left. I have plenty of that. Hopefully, it should be no problem to send the machine back to Microsoft and recieve a new one.

Just sucks that this happens right when I've decided to dump World of Warcraft, as I will now find myself with only the PC and the primary game gone - Well, gives me some time to play games I haven't finished yet. Spore, Crysis and a few others.. Here I come!

Oh, and cross ya fingers for my Xbox. I want to have it back within 1-2 weeks if that's possible.

I'm sorry to hear about your xbox woes.... That's really terrible. At least you'll have it back within a couple of weeks. Lucky you with warranties. Stupid launch xboxes are warranty up.... Hence fixing mines myself >.

Well, I traded my old launch Xbox in less than a year ago, so I expect that I have full warrenty on this new one. Hopefully, then I won't have any trouble with Microsoft. I've already sent them an e-mail, and hoping to get the chance to call them tomorrow if I haven't gotten a reply yet.

Yeah Im surprised how long mine lasted before I had to send it in but that was from RROD as you know. My friend experienced his AV port on his 360 broken as well. He had to send it in

Man, every time I fantasize about owning a 360, I'm reminded about its insane failure rate. Very sorry to hear you're having problems. Though MS seems to have a really good replacement program, I'm sure it's still a hassle you'd rather live without.

I heard the waiting time is now on average a workweek. It is the case in the Netherlands though.. so you will have it back really soon.

Vexx: How long did it take, when you sent yours in?

GeekyDad: I'd say the Xbox 360 is definitely worth the pain of having to get the console replaced. And from what I've heard, they've done very nicely to replace any malfunctioning console. But it is something I'd rather live without (the problems), but the sheer awesomeness and the games for the Xbox 360 makes up for it.

Lance: Well well, a week doesn't seem too bad. I just need to get that box to send it in.

I got really lucky in my opinion it was like a week to a week and a half.

Also while I was tracking it the center where it was being repaired it was only 4 hours away.

Well - I just called them today, and the process is on. Hopefully I'll be able to send it off within a few days, so everything is good. Also ordered Mirror's Edge for just £20 and Call of Duty 4 (PC) for £25-30. Wooh!

Tell me how mirror's edge is! I'm really not sure about this game, I've gotten mixed reviews and I honestly have mixed feelings. Regardless you'll have fun with CoD:4, if you like tactical shooters. Meaning you camp, you shoot someone, and you move your location to a new camping spot

I will probably write a blog or review of Mirror's Edge, when I get to playing it. I've had mixed feelings about the game as well, especially the replay value of the game, so we'll see. Will be a while before I complete it though.

CoD4 sounds really good too, especially when you mention the tactical nature of the game. Hopefully I'll get hooked and play that until my Xbox is fixed.

Okay, so here's the deal. I rented Mirror's Edge. I figured I'd take the hit for us, just in case the game was actually kinda bad. I swear to god if it's bad. It means your butt!
