Sorry, but I just had to do this blog...cos ever since I read the following article at work I've been so angry...so upset...and just sick to my stomach.
I love animals so much & I truly do not understand how people can do stuff like this. Again please do not read...it is distressing...the article contains details of what was done to poor defenceless creatures.
An animal-torturing gang is responsible for bashing three koalas and dumping them in a Brisbane rubbish bin, animal advocates say.
Animal rescue workers were able to save two of the koalas - a mother and joey - after they were discovered by a man walking his dog in Jim Akers Park, North Brisbane.
But the third koala, also a joey, died after a ferocious beating with sticks and stones.
The incident is the latest in a series of horrific attacks - recently, live magpies were found nailed to trees in the same area.
RSPCA spokesman Michael Beatty says the same group of young men were behind both the attacks.
"From what we understand there is a gang of hoons, aged in their twenties from the Kallangur area, that are behind this," he said.
The RSPCA is struggling to come to grips with several other recent acts of animal cruelty.
Last month someone cut the wings off a crow and left it to hop around a car park in the Brisbane suburb of Sinnamon Park.
Other reported cases include live cane toads pinned to trees, poisoned possums, cats carcasses left in their owners' cars and two stabbed dogs.
"These are really vicious cases that are deliberately calculated and cruel," Mr Beatty said.
"When you look at the case of the crow, someone has actually held this bird down and sawed off its wings ... it's just sick and disturbing."
The RSPCA is calling for tougher penalties for cruelty to animals, and for more criminal convictions to be recorded against perpetrators.
"When you look at animal cruelty it's one of the key profiling tools used by police to indicate the potential for further criminal activity," Mr Beatty said.
"But if and when these cases come to court there has been a tendency for magistrates to be lenient and not record convictions."

Omg Seriously how sick are some people!!! i love animals an anyone who can do this to a poor defensless creature is just disgusting... i would like to chop off their arm and see how they feel...
i almost stopped reading when i saw the warning...but i read the whole thing...
those people dont deserve to be on this Earth!
i have a lot of swear words going through my head right now that id like to put on here but i think id get TOS'd in a heartbeat so all im gonna say is God help them cos no one else will and if i ever run in to them you can rest assured that the same fate would be delt upon them!! crazy sick freaks!
The fact that someone could be so messed up in the head that they would do that . . . . Argh!!!! It doesn't even bare thinking about it!!!!!
I hoep that the police don't find these bastards but that someone else does . . . . That some one else should be equiped with several large sticks, a meat clever and maybe a nail gun . . . . See how they like the torture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why would they do this to sweet little koala bears? They are animals and deserve to be treated well. I really don't like what they're doing to them!
How can they do that? We had some kids here that "played" football with a hedgehog last summer. 
That made some noise. We have pretty good laws against animal cruelty. Hope they catch those bastards! How are the laws over there? What would happen to the perpetrators? How can anyone do things like that?! Animals are cute and innocent. I love animals. I love them so much that I don't even eat them. Koalas are so cute....
Kolas are so cute and harmless nearly from what ive read about them! What some ppl can do just really i cant understand!!!

OMG....I'm caught between wanting to cry over needless suffering, and the monstrous urge to find these "people" and personally cut off their balls or perhaps nail them to a tree by their breasts... or maybe just cut off a limb or two and leave them to rot.
These are the times that I really wish I wasn't an atheist Jew and believed in hell...because at least there would be some punishment.
And just think...if these sociopaths can inflict this kind of pain on animals, it's only a matter of time before they take it to humans.
I am totally disgusted and angered beyond belief.
We kinda joke about "The Wrath of Shazz" (harmless little me) but I swear to you, if I EVER got my hands on these people, they would certainly know, feel, and regret my wrath. I am literally seething. What's even more sad is that this is not an isolated incident. Happens all over the world.
If how we treat our animals is a reflection on mankind then I do NOT want to be part of the human species.
I'm sorry that you had to come across this news, and can certainly see why you'd need to share the burden of this knowledge.
I think I need to go hug my bunny and the dogs.
Suze I can't believe how sick those people are. What kind of sickos are they to torture poor defenceless animals like that? I was so shocked to read what they done to the koalas and that one died and the other two survived in a miracle in itself. 
I almost cried when I read all the horrible things this gang is responsible for. I don't want them to go to jail, I want someone to do to them what they did to these poor creatures.

. To me cruelty to animals is just as horrific as cruelty to children, they can't defend themselves from their attackers. I hope they catch the thugs that have been doing this and give them harsh punishments. Punishment for this kind of crime needs to be much much higher than it is.
I just can't understand in my wildest dreams how someone can be so cruel. We as a society are way to lenient on these people. Eye for an eye if ya ask me!
