I just read the article on iPhone games, and wanted to add my two cents.

Admittedly, I don't have a lot of games on my iPhone. Not because there aren't good ones, but because I don't spend a lot of time playing games on my phone. However, the ones I do play are mindless fun.

I'll start with my most played game...

Solitaire City Deluxe

Yes, I know, "you have an iPhone and you play solitaire the most? WTF?" Shut up. I love solitaire. I play it when I can't sleep and it knocks me right out. It's very zen-like for me. But enough about my weirdness... Solitaire City deluxe has over 60 games included in it and it will run you $8, while the free version has only 2 games. Download the free one and give it a look. The graphics are lovely, the "gravity" of the cards is pretty cool too. I could rattle off all the special features, but you can read them yourself on the product page. Suffice it to say, it's visually appealing, as addicting as solitaire ever was, and I'm glad I spent the $8 on the full version.

Tetris by EA

I think this one should have been reviewed too. Yes, it's just Tetris, but on the iPhone it becomes a whole new beast. After you get used to the swiping and tapping to move your pieces, it becomes one of the most fun versions of the game I've ever played. The graphics are great, but that's a given with EA as the seller. It has two modes, the original Marathon and the new Magic mode. Magic mode lets you earn different tools to save you if things get out of hand. There's a bubble wrap tool that changes all the blocks to bubbles you can pop within a short time limit. There's also a cool little spiked bomb that you release and then shake your phone to knock it around and break blocks. You can even earn a crayon and draw what shape you need to get that Tetris you've been building. All in all, I think it's $5 well spent. It's a fun diversion and Magic mode is an interesting update to the original.

MotionX Poker

Okay, anything from these guys is awesome. From the graphics to the sound effects to the gravity, these dice games are pretty sweet. There are free versions and $3 versions. The main difference between them is in the free version you're limited to only a few sets of dice and only a few achievements, but if neither of those things matter to you, then don't bother paying the $3. Also, it seems like they've made 2 games that are essentially the same: Poker & Poker Quest. The game play is the same, but the graphics and dice are different. They're basically fun, visually appealing, games, but unless you really like playing poker with dice, it gets boring after the novelty wears off.

Touch Hockey: FS5

The best air hockey game is the free one. There are a couple of them out there, but this one stands out over the others because you can play against a friend when you're on the same Wi-Fi network. The graphics are great, it acts like a real air hockey game too. And you can't beat the price, since I'm sure you won't be playing it all the time.

Aurora Feint

A year ago I was addicted to this game. I LOVED it. But now they've released new versions and the original is gone. I had high hopes for the new versions, but I can't even play it without creating a whole new character and starting over. It won't even let me transfer my user when I go to the site and put in my 40 digit iPhone ID, because I can't remember my password. So I can't really review this one since I've never played it, but considering how great the first one was, I'm sure this one is probably great too. And hopefully all those nasty bugs are gone.

Tap Tap Revenge 2

Yup, good ol' TapTap Revenge. For when you need your Rockband fix on the go. The new version is a huge update to the original. It has better graphics and downloadable songs that you may have actually heard of. And it's free.

Moonlight Mahjong Lite

Addictive. The 3D movement of the board is probably my favorite thing about this beautifully rendered game. It has more functions than I've ever used, you can play against someone else on a local network, or you can play against the computer. The full version has 50 layouts while the free has only 4. I don't have a problem with this. I didn't even know there where that many possible mahjong layouts! And for $5 I don't really need that many. The lite version is more than enough for me.

Well that's it for now. Go flick and tap your way to some fun little games.
