Well, the fellow who took control of my former guides and filled them with unchecked information has apparently been banned. Considering he was doing the same with almost 50 other guides, I can't say I'm totally surprised. Nevertheless, I am glad that this situation was finally sorted out.

As a result of his banning, I've become far more interested in actually trying to restore and even improve my former guides by removing some of those inaccurate airdates and replacing some of them with accurate ones obtained from no less than the U.S. Copyright Office!

Not all the airdates they have for shows are accurate, but I was able to find some correct airdates for some shows, which I have added to the appropriate guides. Hopefully those submissions will go through in a reasonable amount of time. They'll still take a while though since there are no editors for them due to the double-whammy of my forced retirement from the guides, and the banning of the guy who hijacked them!

It was due to a terms of service violation. Luckily for me, the PM sent said I lost no points over it. Probably just as well since as a mere plebian here I hardly have any to begin with.

Clearly *someone* has been causing more trouble that their worth. *Someone*, who added 26 inaccurate airdates to my Spider-Man guide in one instant got 208 contribution points (8x26), while my far more substantial contributions ported over from TVTome (simple stuff like detailed synopses, notes, production nos. guest stars...) all amounted to a mere 184 points!

If *anyone* can explain that one to me, I would be eternally grateful.

Answers in the comments box below or by snail mail on paper, papyrus, plywood...etc.
...but not by much. My "Level" is currently still on 1, but the percentage has gone up to 81%, no doubt on account of my half-century's worth of posts so far.

Spurred on by the fact (recently confirmed to me in the forums) that the makers of this site have kept all information pertaining to how many posts one has to have in order to progress a level a closely guarded secret, I'm striving to get that level up by other means.

As such, and considering the typical one-line posts I see so much here aren't really my sort of thing, I am attempting to play their system's game as much as I can to increase my "level" in another way, and have just finished giving 10.0 rankings to all 261 episodes I had on my former guides. I am also contributing this superfluous 'blog' post in order to gain extra 'goodie' points as well.

At the very least, I am being honest in my intentions. I have no doubt there are hundreds of former TVTome contributors who have grudgingly done the same in a more subtle manner.

For reference, here is a list of all the shows I edited at TVTome whose guides were ported over to TV.com:

Centurions
Dinozaurs
The Fantastic Four (1967)
The Incredible Hulk (1982)
The New Adventures of Batman
The New Fantastic Four
Spider-Man (1981)
Spider-Woman
SuperFriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show
Thunderbirds 2086
Ulysses 31

Now, by all rights in this world I should really be restored to editor status on these shows, but subsequent to my enforced 'eviction', I have been informed that it's apparently a 'rule' over here that this is impossible. Yet even though my track record is now perceived as being less than perfect to say the least, I could still edit other shows in the future!

The word for this, ladies and gentlemen, is 'stupid'.

Due to me having contributed the overwhelming majority of data for each show, I was apparently enlisted as their editor by default, restoring my TVTome position over here. But on this website, my "level" started off at 1. I had no wish to engage in needless sycophantic posts in order to be a good boy scout and get access to my guides. So I left them.

Now, I'm deposed from them for not dealing with submitted contributions *which I was totally unaware of due to me being on "Level 1" in the first place*!

Logic, it seems, is an alien concept over here. I eagerly await the next stats increase so I can repair my guides.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Jon_Talpur.
Jon_Talpur must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Jon_Talpur possibly have for not rating a single film?
