Well its now day four, surprisingly it doesn't seem all that bad.

For the first 48 hours my mind simply couldn't focous on anything but Nicotene on Saturday I even found myself wandering up to the shops to get some but ended up getting a pack of Nicorette Freshfuit gum which helped fantastically on Saturday day (of course Ciggys cost £2.80 this gum costs £6.25 suppose I save more in the future).

The information pack however given in the Nicorette is really off putting it gives you horrible statistcs like

"Less than 1 in 10 smokers who are giving up actually succed"

I mean who wants to read that when your quittin, its just not helpfull.

Saturday night I was out on the town with my mates, great bunch of little (CENSORED) who decided that it would be fun for us all to sit outside so they can smoke, they did try to tempt me with them but I held true and chewed my gum. TBH i got so drunk that on Sunday I was so ill that I didn't want a ciggy or a piece of gum all day, hey i know its the best way of saving your lungs by destroying your kidneys but it was good non the less.

I was worried that being at work would push me towards the habit again but so far so good, it simply could be that beacuse todays a quiet day I just haven't really noticed.

So this would be day four time and I have saved £11.20 (but spent £6.25 on gum)

Doesn't seem that much but I suppose one or two months down the line it will improve.

i doubt it'll stay easy for very long, keeping yourself occupied with other stuff will probably help...and while that gum will make it easier, it'll probably also make it take longer...not to mention cost you more intially my mum actually used tic tacs to help her quit...they're certainly alot cheaper than that nicotine gum lol; and just think about how much money you'll save in the long run though, like over the next 10-20years for instance

Its gonna be hard but you can do it. You can do other things that will keep your mind off of it. So far you're doing good, don't give up, I'm proud of you.

Cheers folks, each day is a good day if I haven't had a ciggy. Thankyou for the encouragement it does mean a lot to have people support when you attempt this.

I wish you all the best bud. I'm due to give up soon myself (just smoking my way through a pile of duty frees - well it would be wrong to waste them!)
I did give up once before but...... you probably don't wanna hear any buts though do you?

Cheers man. I know what you mean by duty free, first day I started and I wsa sitting there when wham, I was given 3 cartoons from my sister. I've given them to my mates and uncle and left a few at home just in case lol

LMAO. Get rid of those at home. They are just going to be too much temptation. If you ever get to a "just in case" situation then cigs are fairly easy to get any time of the day like the 24/7 garage or all-night Tesco. Or better still send them down to me and I'll get rid of them for you. (Just out of interest what brand did you smoke?)

Marlboro Lights, I've given the cigs to my dad to keep at his house for the moment. I'm hoping mates will buy them off me tbh

Eeeek. Marly Lights? Throat killers if you ask me. Very dry and hence a little rough. Have you started the coughing and plegmy stage yet?

No strangly enough, nothing and I've been at it for weeks, im hoping I've keep myself fit enough to avoid that.

Strange. The lungs should be getting rid of all the sh1t in them by now.
