The Blue Bomber we know as MegaMan has had huge ups and downs during video game history. Known for having some of the best video game music ever in his games. Megaman has had a ton of games but this list is going to be all about the origional series Megaman 1-9.
Well I after spending a load of time listening to some of the greatest video game music I have decided which tunes are my faveorites and which ones, not so much. So dont fret if your faveorite Megaman tune doesnt reach the number one spot. Theres a lot of great tunes that I have to debate with myself over its spot.
I'm only listing the robot masters themes. But I will include one of DR.Wilys stage themes but I'm sure you know which one I'm including. Theres a grand total of 75 tunes, from Mega Mans 1-9. But first thats get a little info on these games in the Megaman series.
Mega Man 1: http://supernintendoman.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/megaman1.jpg
( lol at the cheesy art work)
Mega Man 1 is the first game in the Mega Man series as well as what many people consider the hardest. Unlike the other Mega Man games this has 6 Robot Masters instead of the series standard 8. Apparently the story is that Dr.Wily is Dr.Lights rival and Wiley gets pissed off when nobody cares about his contributions. He reprograms all the robots in an attempt to take over the world...
Megaman though refuses to get reprogrammed by Wily and Dr.Light changes Megaman from a lab assistant into a battle robot to stop Dr.Wiley.
Mega Man 2: http://fleamen.com/images/games/nes/megaman2.jpg
( Mega Man in live action, it cant be worse then live action Street Fighter...)
The game that many consider to be the pinnacle of Mega Man games. Which shows just how great it is with all the brilliant Mega Man games out there. Many also state that this game not only has the best soundtrack of any Mega Man game but for the whole NES library. There isnt too much story here except after being defeated by Megaman before he gets a new fortress and builds eight new robot masters to once again take over the world
Mega Man 3: http://videogamecentral.com/gamersvoice/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/mega_man_3_boxart.jpg
( Hey that box arts actually not totally cheesy .)
Probably the second most popular game in the original Mega Man series behind Megaman 2. In the year 200x Dr.Wiley begins to help Dr.Light build peace keeping robots. But the robots go berserk and take Eight power crystals. ProtoMan the prototype for Megaman therefore his brother also comes out of hiding to fight MegaMan.
Mega Man 4: http://www.vgmuseum.com/scans/scans4/megaman4.jpg
The game where many people began to claim the series was getting stale. In the year 20xx Dr.Wily had disapeared and a Doctor named DR.Cossack claims to be the better robot scientist of the two. He lets eight robots out to test which is the strongest. Its once again up to MegaMan to save the world until Capcom decides that a new Megaman game must be created.
Mega Man 5:
http://wpcontent.answers.com/wikipedia/en/2/2c/Megaman5_box.jpg
( Aww look Mega Mans smiling, because I would be happy if I had to save the world five times because a certain video game company wanted to run a good series into the ground by realsing new games every damn year! phewww!)
Its 20xx Protoman kidnaps Dr.Light, Megaman has to save him, blah blah blah, more of the same.
Mega Man 6: http://wpcontent.answers.com/wikipedia/en/1/17/Megaman6_box.jpg
( suprisingly this games cover art was very well done.)
By this point Capcom couldnt even be bothered to publish another game so Nintendo had to. How did the game end up? Well it was actually pretty good even though the team devoloping Mega Man games had to be pretty tired of making all these Mega Man games. Do you even want to hear about the story of this game at this point?
Mega Man 7: http://zarious.com/misc/Mega%20Man%207.jpg
Usually if somethings not broke dont fix it but after the same formula for six games it was time to break the formula and start from scratch. This game added some stuff like long, long, long lines of text and an intro stage. This game was on the SNES. Also you started off with only four robot masters that you had to defeat to get the others. But the music was very good thanks to the SNES's improved capabillitys over the NES. Overall this game was a breath of fresh air for the series.
Mega Man 8: http://vorpal86.snesorama.us/images/cdscans/Megaman_8_ntsc-front.jpg
( This cover art is awful it doesnt even have any appeal like the cheesines of other Mega Man cover arts.)
Simply put the worst game claiming to be a game from the origonal Mega Man game. The only thing I liked in this game was the anime cutscenes. The music is simply not that good especially when compared to the outstanding music from Megaman games that came before this game.
Alright I think we can all agree thats enought background. Thats start off this list!
#75: Search Man ( Mega Man ![]()
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtAG6tLVoVc
I'm not very good at describing music so listen to it so you know how it sounds for yourself. I think its alright not bad or good just on the fence. The annoying clap sound effects in it annoy me though. Mega Man 8s music is really techno which doesnt fit well with Megaman type of music.
Info on Search Man ( thanks to http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki)
Search Man has two heads but only one personality so he gets himself confused in battle. Proving him to be one of the weaker robot masters. He was placed somewhere in Africa by DR.Wily.
#74: Clown Man ( Mega Man ![]()
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy5NheEQa5I
Wow this is one upbeat, too upbeat it sounds like a Nick jr shows theme song instead of a Mega Man tune. Anyeays heres a bit of info on Clown Man. His leftover parts created Frsot Man. He was put in Australia. He was alsoon a cancelled kids show as a prop.
#73: Intro Stage ( Mega Man ![]()
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bO_UO6ulN5g
The intro stages song on MegaMan 8 was just plain to me nothing special.
#72: Astro Man ( Mega Man ![]()
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZqGyx-oD_E
Yet another song from Mega Man 8. This song like any song from a Mega Man tune has a lot of potential but it just settles for being plain due to the slowness of a track that just make it awfully depressing.
Info on Astro Man: Astro Man was not really built to be good at fighting but for hypnosis. He is located in North Europe and is suprised very easily.
#71: Sword Man ( Mega Man ![]()
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfsFnIhyWZU
Usually Mega Man has fast paced music but Megaman 8 ditched that trend in order for some depressing techno music if that makes any sense which describes why its music is all the way on the bottom of this list. This song is another slow, depressing affair.
Info on Sword Man: Located in the middle of China. Bult specifacally for the Flame sword stolen from him by DR.Wiley. He also has an anti gravity suit on the upper part of his body due to his large heavy sword.
Thanks to http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/ for the info and I'll list the next five songs on my next blog which will be up soon thanks to all for reading.
This is probably one of the last things anyone would expect on TV.com huh? I'm back and with my origional username. Well long story short. I forgot my password to this account and couldnt remember it for the longest time. But I took a shot at it today and got it right! I had a different account after that happened but losing my rank, blogs, and etc made me go on way less.
Which was dumb of me. But now I'm back with my origional username and such. This time I have also made sticky notes with my username and password. Thats just how I am thought I forget a lot of stuff like Usernames and passwords without having it written somewhere.
Anyway now that thats out of the way thats get started. I love the name of this blog. I heard the phrase return to form a few times and it seemed to fit as the name of the blog so I chose it.
My last blog has been months or even years before this one ( I'm too lazy to check :d .) So I promise my next blog will be the best one I have made yet. It will definetly be up tomorrow . Maybe today if I can finish it.
