"Iron Man, Iron Man, does whatever an Iron can. Gets the wrinkles out of clothes, his helmet doesn't have a nose. Hey look, it's Iron Man!" --- Nintendo Power
Today my mom picked up the Ultimate Edition of Iron Man while she was at the store! It has over 4 hours of special features, and a free Iron Man comic book (Walmart exclusive). I can't wait to watch it later with my dad and brother. ![]()
Also, I downloaded a demo from Gamespot for a game called Mount & Blade (PC).
Gamespot gave this independently developed game a 6.0, saying that the fighting is great, but other things are not so great.
I played the demo (which only lets you play until you reach level 7) a lot, and now I want to get the game! It's a very fun game (from what I played), and seems to be underrated by critics. After 991 user votes on Gamespot, it got an overall rating of 9.0. That about nails it, based on what I played anyway.
The game is not your average RPG hack n' slash. Intead of running up to an enemy and repeatedly pressing the attack button, you need to move the mouse back and press attack to stab, move the mouse right and press the attack button to slash right, and so on. This is also the same for blocking. Assuming you don't have a shield, you will need to block with your sword, axe, or whatever weapon you are wielding. You will have to think fast about how an enemy is about to attack you. For instance, if an enemy slashes you from the left, and need to move the mouse left and press block to parry the attack.
A lot of the time you will want to stay on your horse. On your horse you can charge enemies and slash them, ram them, hit them with a lance, etc.
I recommend downloading the demo and giving it a chance. I hope to get this game for Christmas! ![]()
That's all for now, take care, have a great week, and God bless! ![]()
Hey everyone, I've got some stuff I'd like to tell you about.
First off, the second day after renting the Force Unleashed for PS2, I beat it. And I thoroughly enjoyed it! It had a great story, and awesome action, particularly with the force powers. And in my opinion, it's worth replaying.
Gamespot gave it an 6.0. I give it a 8.5. I personally think it's much better than they said.
Right after beating it, I decided not to start a new game with all my force powers like it offered, but instead I replayed the entire last level again to see the other ending. And quite honestly, the other ending is not that good, it's very depressing. Click the spoiler below to see me explain the endings, and describe why I liked/disliked them.
(NOTE: The following spoiler will ruin the entire plot of The Force Unleashed, only click it if you have played the game, or if you don't mind the story being ruined for you.)
I want to buy this game, but not the PS2 version, I want the PSP version.
Gamespot gave the PSP version a 7.0, an entire point higher than the PS2 and Wii versions, mostly because it includes modes not found in the other versions, which greatly add to the re-playability. I really liked the PS2 version of the game, so I'm sure that the extra modes in the PSP version will make me enjoy it even more! So I'll get the PSP version as soon as possible.
Btw, one thing I really wish was better about the Force Unleashed, is the lightsaber combat. It's pretty weak, and I enjoyed the lightsaber combat way more in Jedi Knight Academy for PC. (actually, to be honest, I enjoyed Jedi Knight Academy more altogether.)
Two more things before I end this blog:
I have a new avatar, it's an animated avatar of one of my planets in Spore.
I posted a new video of two of my favorite Spore creatures I have created. Please check it out and comment on it at: http://www.gamespot.com/users/JesusFreak1990/video_player?id=JSA3nzqq5bIMuzDc
That's all for now. Take care, have a great week, and God bless! ![]()
Yea! My 100th blog! ![]()
I have some of updates to share with you guys/girls.
GAMES
First off, I got Spore the day it came out. I played for hours and got through the first 4 stages very easily. And im still playing the space stage right now across multiple planets (aka save slots), with good progress.
I honestly was expecting WAY more from Spore, but unlike others, I still like it a lot, even if it didn't live up to my expectations. It's so fun to be able to use your creations in a game.
Also, I just rented Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for PS2. Gamespot only gave it a score of 6.0. In my opinion, it deserves at least a 8.0. I'm pretty far into it, and I have a lot of force powers. The gameplay is amazing, and the story is great too.
I am still waiting for the PSP version to be reviewed, for some reason Gamespot reviewed every other version besides it.
MUSIC
While watching my favorite music video show called "The Ten Most Wanted", the host announced that Demon Hunter plans to release a live DVD of their recent tour. I am excited about this because I can never go to any of their concerts (they tour close to home, and their home is far away from where I live.), so this is the next best thing to going to one.
After e-mailing the Demon Hunter website for more info, they said the DVD will be coming in November. They also said to check back for more updates very soon.
Also, I found out that Disciple will be releasing a new album soon, it will be titled "Southern Hospitality". Be sure to check out their site for more info as it becomes availible.
RANDOM UPDATES
I am now level 31 (Ippon!) here on Gamespot! ![]()
I have more creations in Spore now, which I will show you guys in an upcoming video I will be making. Be sure to check out my spore page at http://www.spore.com/view/profile/DemonHunter1990 I don't have many good ones, but as I play more, I'll get better at making stuff.
That's all for now. Take care, have a great week, and God bless! ![]()
